Abstract

This study analyzes the tourism potential of Marlborough Fort in Bengkulu through the implementation of Sapta Pesona. This fort has unique historical and architectural attractions, supported by adequate amenities and good accessibility. However, the facilities and infrastructure of souvenir shops and tour guides need to be improved. The implementation of Sapta Pesona shows good aspects of "Safe", "Clean", "Cool", and "Beautiful", but the aspects of "Orderly" (visitor compliance) and "Friendly" (friendliness of officers) still need to be improved. The aspect of "Memories" is quite good with local cuisine, but is constrained by the understanding of QRIS payments. This study is expected to provide suggestions for managers and related parties to improve the quality of tourism in the area, such as providing clearer digital information, training officers, and diversifying souvenir products.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of household waste management, the influencing factors, and the roles of relevant stakeholders. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews with 25 key informants consisting of residents, neighborhood heads, sanitation workers, and environmental organizations, and supported by field documentation. The results show that waste management in the study area is still conventional and unstructured. Most residents do not separate organic and inorganic waste, supporting facilities such as waste sorting bins and official temporary disposal sites (TPS) are not available, and education or outreach programs from local authorities are still minimal. Public awareness remains low, and the responsibility for waste management largely rests with sanitation workers. This study recommends strengthening outreach programs, providing adequate waste sorting facilities, and establishing waste banks to encourage active community participation. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for stakeholders in formulating effective and sustainable community-based waste management policies.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with a high risk of natural disasters, so disaster mitigation literacy needs to be instilled from an early age through formal education in schools. This study aims to determine the level of understanding of disaster mitigation literacy among students in Geography learning using the Independent Curriculum at SMAN 7, Bengkulu City. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach, with data collection through questionnaires distributed to 104 randomly selected eleventh-grade students. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics to determine the percentage of student\ understanding. The results showed that the majority of students had an understanding level ranging from understanding to very understanding, with an average percentage above 76 percent. These findings indicate that integrating disaster mitigation material into Geography learning can improve students' disaster literacy. This study concluded that strengthening contextual and practical learning methods, such as local case studies and disaster simulations, is very important for students to be better prepared to face disaster risks in vulnerable areas. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for teachers, schools, and policymakers in developing Geography learning strategies that aremore applicable and relevant to local conditions.
