Abstract

The coastal area has become an area of high and complex dynamics. Changes that occur tend to the beach being built. The coastal ecosystem contains a rich diversity of fauna (biological) and mutually synergic floran. The purpose of this research is to know: (1) shoreline movement with the integration of Landsat image, (2) coastal morphology change with the integration of high-resolution image quality. The location of the research is in North Bengkulu Regency where the determination of the unit of analysis is based on the abscissa, namely; (1) the area along the coast of Cipta Mulya (Putri Hijau), (2) the area along the Air Petai Beach (Putri Hijau), (3) the area along the coast of Urai (Ketahun), (4) the area along the coast of Sengarai (Ketahun), (5) ) area along the shores of the Seaside (Air Napal). Image data used is Landsat Image downloaded from the website earthexplorer.usgs.gov with path 125 and row 63. The image used was acquired in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015, 2017. Data processing (image) remote sensing is done by step- ; (c) the manufacture of color composites, (d) digitization on screen, (e) overlay analysis, and (f) analysis and displacement of the morphology beach. The research findings from Landsat image data processing in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2017 in 5 areas of abscissa indicate different shoreline displacement conditions and for each year of the image. The similarities that occur in the 5 areas of absorption is the occurrence of abrasion and accretion events. Based on the use of image data with a distance of 5 years, there was an unobserved coastline shift to show the abrasion activity that occurred. Changes in coastal morphology occur in bumpy terrain, bumpy hills, terrain, and river estuaries overlooking the sea. The condition of the beach has long been interrupted by abrasion activity, resulting in the coastal morphology of steep cliffs, poles (stack), while on steep cliffs also formed coastal caves, as symptoms of wave erosion or ocean currents.

Abstract

The most fundamental problem in this study is the high change of land cover that occurred in the city of Padang into settlements and open land, so that forest cover becomes reduced. If forest cover diminishes, while population, industry and transportation growth is increasing, environmental inequalities from plants absorbing emissions released by human activity decrease, so the surface temperature becomes warmer. If this is allowed to continue, then the hydrometeorological disaster will threaten the city of Padang. In general, this study aims to determine how the phenomenon of climate change that occurred in the city of Padang based on the estimation of carbon stocks in accordance with land cover. This research uses a combination of remote sensing technology with direct measurement in the field. The integration of land cover change data with the value of carbon stocks on a plot scale can illustrate changes in carbon stocks on a landscape scale. The results show that within 1989-2017 there has been a change in forest cover to non-forest land that leads to a decrease in carbon stocks and increased carbon emissions. Increased carbon emissions in the atmosphere caused a change in rainfall in Padang City, where Padang City had a high rainfall ranging from 4500-6000mm / year, while now decreasing to 3000-4500 mm/year indicating that climate change has occurred in Padang City.

Abstract

Pro-environmental behavior is a behavior that poses a positive impact on the environment. Human behavior that does not lead to the utilization of the environment (forest) will positively degrade the environmental carrying capacity of life. The sources of forest degradation are (1) giving of forest right, (2). Forest encroachment by the population, which can be caused by The forest distance is too close to the settlement of the population, the inequality of forest tenure, the presence of brokers that offer forest land at low prices. (3). Changes in forest status so that land can be used as property or traded. This is because: forests have become the location of settlements and definitive areas, government policies that promote the interests of capital owners. (4). Forest conversion for plantation/mining, the cause: the interests of investors are more advanced, the understanding of spatial is minimal. (5). Illegal logging. The pro-environment behavior of local/indigenous peoples around protected forests can be strengthened by involving them through the provision of a larger role, resulting in a sense of ownership. Assignment of the role must be clear, what and how the role they will do. The role given to the community must be evaluated periodically so that it can be seen the accuracy of the intended target.
