Abstract

This study is purposed to obtain objective data about environmental availability as a learning source and its relevance to Core Competency (KI) and Basic Competency (KD) of public senior high school (SMAN) in East Lombok; the use of environment as a learning source by geography teachers to shape religious characters and to know teacher barriers in using environment as a learning source, and also to determine priority of directive policy in utilizing environment as a learning source in geography subject at SMAN East Lombok. Type of research was qualitative research. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis consisted of data reduction, data presentation, verification, and ISM (Interpretative Structural Modeling). This study found out that: (1) in aspect of environmental availability as a learning source, physical and non physical environment are available to be used as a learning resource and it is relevant to KI and KD in SMAN East Lombok. (2) In utilization aspect, the form of physical and non physical utilization in religious characteristic application at school has been exploited by geography teacher to form religious character. However, environmental utilization outside the school is not optimal, because of the obstacles. (3) Constraints that teacher encounter are to coordinate students, infrastructure, to make plan, to understand parties that involved such as parent and family consent, to analyze the availability in the development of learning resources. (4) Policy priority that arise in utilizing the environment as a source of geography learning is improving skill development of geographic teacher implementation in collaboration with other offices and schools; structural planning by geography teachers to utilize the environment as a learning source and established a committee to explore the availability; analyzing condition and availability in the development of learning resources.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the EXO OLO TASK Learning Model as a learning model that can develop variative and creative learning activities. This model is also relevant to the 21st century learning skills and Curriculum 2013 learning. This article is a conceptual idea based on underlying theories and concepts and supported by empirical data because it was developed in dissertation research using the ADDIE development model. This model has four syntaxes, namely, 1) strengthening concepts, 2) EXO TASK, 3) OLO TASK, 4) Reflection. The advantages of this learning model are: 1) can develop creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration and higher-order thinking skills of students as the core of 21st century learning, 2) can develop higher quality learning activities and more complete learning experiences, 3) the multilevel and challenging questions is the trigger for the expected learning activity. The application of this learning model can help teachers to answer basic questions about 21st century learning that is "what should students do at class?".

Abstract

The number of visits has an important in the development of tourism objects. This research purposed to know the development of the main tourist objects in West Sumatera based on the number of visits using the theory by Buttler 1980 with the Tourism Area Life Cycle (TALC) model.The methode of this research is descriptive. The sample is the main tourist attraction in West Sumatera based on the number of local tourist visits. The type of data analysis used secondary data analysis through TALC models with exploration, involvement, development, consolidation, stagnation, decline levels, and the rejuvenate stage. Data sources used are secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).The results of this research in five-years (2012-2016), the development of the number of visits to the main tourism objects in West Sumatera: a) Bukittinggi City and Padang City are at the development stage, b) Padang Panjang City and Sawahlunto City at the decline stage, c) Pariaman city at the stage of stagnation, and d) Payakumbuh City and Solok City at the rejuvenate stage

Abstract

This research was conducted to increase students’ participation in delivering ideas/notions/opinions in lectures and improve the quality of student presentations through the application of the CABARITUS method. The type of research is classroom action research while the action giver is lecturer and the research subjects are 45 students who take the Curriculum and Geography Textbooks Study. Data about students who are active during lectures was collected by observation using a checklist sheet. While data about the quality of student presentations were collected by observation using learning observation sheets. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques. The results showed that; 1) the number of students who actively gave presentations in the form of ideas/opinions at the first meeting was 11 people (24.44%), at the second meeting there were 16 people (35.55%) and at the third meeting were 21 people (46.66 %). This result can be interpreted that the application of the CABARITUS method can increase the number of students who actively deliver ideas/notions/opinions in lectures. 2) In terms of the quality of presentations at the first meeting, from 11 students who made presentations there were only two students who were able to deliver it in the excellent category (18.18%), at the second meeting they rose to 5 from 16 students (31.25%) and at the third meeting 9 out of 21 (51.38%) students had very good presentation quality. The quality of the presentation can be seen in the presentation content and presentation techniques. The conclusion from this research is that CABARITUS method can increase the number of students who make learning presentations and improve the quality of student learning presentations

Abstract

Spatial thinking in geography learning is very important to explain phenomena, find meaning, answers, and solutions about shape, size, orientation, location, direction, objects in certain spaces on the earth's surface. Therefore, geography students must be able to solve problems in their environment through spatial thinking. "Lesson Study for Learning Community" is considered one of the right approach to solve the problem. The research was conducted at the Department of Geography, FIS UNP in the January-June 2018 semester. The subjects of the study were geography students registered in 2016. The data collected through observation by 6 observers. Learning scenarios follow the steps of Lesson Study; "Plan", "Do" and "See". The data were analyzed by using data reduction, display and data verification techniques. The result of study show that students' spatial thinking skills based on "Lesson Study for Learning Community" can solve the problem of geography learning, both in asking, answering, discussing, and expressing opinions. Learning is more directed, fun, and collaborating between students, model lecturer, and observers.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to perform direct the phenomenon from learned material of geography, so student activity increased in following learned process. Method of research that used in action research is descriptive method, which drawing activities and range in cycle. Cycle research of researching that has done achieved a remained target, unachieved a target at first cycle and second cycle. New target of research achieved at third cycle, whereas student activity in learned process increased further than before.

Abstract

Penelitian Tindakan kelas (PTK) bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan Guru Geografi dalam merancang pembelajaran dengan berbagai metode dan strategi, memberikan pelatihan cara melakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang benar, dan membuat karya tulis ilmiah. Selain itu, pengabdian ini dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan inovasi dan kreasi dalam upaya peningkatkan derajat pembelajaran/kualitas pembelajaran. Pengabdian masyarakat dilaksanakan pada 6 Agustus 2017 sampai dengan 30 September 2017 yang diikuti oleh 30 Guru Geografi yang berasal dari SMA di Provinsi Sumatera Barat. Kegiatan yang dilaksanakan di Yayasan Jikhaidul Center tersebut, terdiri dari kegiatan workshop melalui ceramah dan (2) latihan pembuatan laporan penelitian. Hasil yang dicapai adalah (1) Peningkatan pemahaman guru-guru yang tergabung dalam forum MGMP Geografi Provinsi Sumatera Barat; dan (2) Guru-guru MGMP Geografi Provinsi Sumatera Barat sudah mampu menyusun proposal dan laporan PTK secara mandiri dan benar. Pada tahapan berikutnya direncanakan untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan artikel PTK dan melaksanakan Seminar Penelitian Tindakan Kelas bagi guru-guru yang sudah mengikuti pelatihan. Dengan demikian, tujuan untuk program peningkatan kualitas guru di bidang evaluasi pembelajaran dan penelitian dapat tercapai.

Abstract

Research conducted in Subdistrict Koto Tengah of Padang Cityis based on the number of people who have a weak economy with unemployment rate and the number of productive age is still high. The solution offered to overcome the high rate of poverty and improve the quality of life in Subdistrict Koto Tengah of Padang City is through entrepreneurship education based on information technology. In this case, research and dedication is done through workshops, skills training and business assistance. Based on the results of research and devotion, it can be known the ability of participants in making skills for entrepreneurship, that is by doing workshops and training, the ability of participants who viewed from the work of interesting experience increased, the change of paradigm thinking participants become more logical and analytical, which seen from the attitude of increasing enthusiasm for self-employment (independent), and the formation of new business groups that have high competitiveness and realible business. The next stage plan to be implemented is business assistance. Once the business group is established, each group that has been provided materials and tools will be accompanied by research and devotion teams, especially in marketing the products produced. Activities planned for the fourth week of October 2017 to market the training participants 'products are expected to help increase revenue from participants' work and reduce unemployment in Kecamatan Koto Tangah. Thus, participants whose activities have a high spirit and motivation in entrepreneurship can be helped.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui: penerapan penilaian hasil belajar geografi berbasis kurikulum 2013 di SMAN Kota Padang tentang (1) Penerapan Penilaian teknik penilaian pengetahuan; (2) Penerapan Penilaian teknik penilaian sikap; dan (3) Penerapan Penilaian teknik penilaian keterampilan. Jenis penelitian deskriptif kuantilatif. Jumlah informan sebanyak 6 orang guru geografi . Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi terhadap informan. Hasil penelitian penerapan penilaian hasil belajar geografi bebrbasis kurikulum 2013 SMA Negeri Kota Padang (1) pada aspek penilaian pengetahuan bentuk penilaian yang diterapkan adalah tes tertulis dan penugasan berupa soal pilihan ganda dan uraian, namun masih belum efektif pada penilaian penugasan; (2) Pada aspek sikap, bentuk penilaian yang diterapkan adalah pengamatan (observasi), penilaian diri dan penilaian teman sejawat, yaitu berupa tabel pengmatan observasi dan penilaian diri serta teman sejawat. secara keseluruhan belum efektif karena rubrik yang terlalu banyak dan waktu dalam pelaksanaan penilaian; (3) pada aspek keterampilan bentuk penilaian yang diterapkan adalah tes praktek, tes projek dan portofilio, yaitu berupa tabel pengamatan dan penugasan. Penerapan penilaian pada aspek keterampilan, masih belum efektif karena faktor biaya dan waktu dalam pelaksanaannya

Abstract

PERSEPSI DAN SIKAP MASYARAKAT TENTANG PERLINDUNGAN HUTAN DI NAGARI KAPAU ALAM PAUH DUO KECAMATAN PAUH DUO KABUPATEN SOLOK SELATAN Rika Yulita[1], Iswandi U, Rahmanelli 2 Program Studi Pendidikan Geografi, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial, Universitas Negeri Padang Email: rikayulita39@gmail.com Abstra Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi dan sikap masyarakat tentang perlindungan hutan di Nagari Kapau Alam Pauh Duo, Kecamatan Pauh Duo, Kabupaten Solok Selatan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Data yang digunakan untuk melengkapi penelitian ini adalah data primer. Data primer diperoleh dari hasil wawancara langsung dengan masyarakat Nagari Kapau Alam Pauh Duo, Wali Nagari Kapau Alam Pauh Duo, Ketua Kerapatan Adat Nagari (KAN) Kapau Alam Pauh Duo. Teknik menentukan informan dengan cara purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) persepsi masyarakat tentang perlindungan hutan dapat kita lihat bahwa masyarakat yang berpendidikan rendah ( Tidak tamat SD-SMA) dan bermata pencaharian sebagai petani berangggapan bahwa hutan itu sebagai mata pencaharian merekae dan sebagian masyarakat yang berpendidikan tinggi (PNS) menganggap bahwa hutan itu harus di jaga dan dilestarikan keberadaannya. (2) Sikap negatif masyarakat tentang perlindungan hutan dapat kita lihat bahwa masyarakat yang berpendidikan rendah ( Tidak tamat SD- SMA) dan bermata pencaharian sebagai petani, perabot kayu/toke kayu masih mengambil kayu-kayu besar yang ada di hutan dan sebagian masyarakat yang yang berpendidikan tinggi ( PNS) masih juga melakukan penyimpangan secara tidak langsung terhadap hutan. Kata kunci : Persepsi, Sikap, Perlindungan Hutan Abstra This study aims to determine the perception and attitude of the community about forest protection in Nagari Kapau Alam Pauh Duo, Pauh Duo Subdistrict, South Solok Regency. This type of research is qualitative research. The data used to complete this research is primary data. Primary data was obtained from the results of direct interviews with the people of Nagari Kapau Alam Pauh Duo, Wali Nagari Kapau Alam Pauh Duo, Chair of Kerapatan Adat Nagari (KAN) Kapau Alam Pauh Duo. The technique of determining informants by purposive sampling. Data collection techniques in this study use observation, interview, and documentation techniques. Data analysis technique that is by way of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study are: (1) community perception about forest protection can be seen that low educated people (Not finished primary-high school) and livelihood as a farmer assume that forest as their livelihood and some people with high education (PNS) considers that the forest should be guarded and preserved. (2)) Negative public attitudes about forest protection can be seen that low-educated people (not graduating from primary-high school) and livelihood as farmers, wooden furniture / toke woods are still taking large timber in the forest and some highly educated people (PNS) still indirectly deviate from the forest.
