Abstract

A manuscript entitles Sairs which becomes the object of this study is a manuscript written in Arabic-Malay script. This text consists of three texts, one of the texts that becomes the object o this study is Sair Slamat Sri Padoeka Tbean Besar Berangkat Belajar written by Mohd Hasjim in Riau on March 30, 1896. The text contains moral advice. The text content is important to be dug to bring up what it implies, therefore, it is necessary to do the transliteration of the Arabic script to Syairs, Sair Slamat Sri Padoeka Toean Besar Berangkat Belajar in order it can be read by public and it can be analyzed as well. The text contains some moral values dealing with humans relation to themselves, their relation to other humam beings as well as to God.

Abstract

Manuscript "Ma'rifatullah" is a manuscript written in Malay, written by Haji Sulaiman Tarip bin Haji Tarip, and rewritten by anonymous writer on Ramadhan 30, 1409 H/May 9th, 1979. Jhis manuscript has been analyzed with dtferent focuses. The first analysis is a trunsliteration from Malay to Latin and the later analysis focuses on the essence of human being found in the manuscript.

Abstract

This paper seeks to study the anomic behavior that emerges from and thet value orientation that precedes the latent intercomrnunity conflict in thi: regions affected by the expansion of the Tesso Nilo National Park ir Pelalawan regency, Riau province. In accordance with Johan Galtung: theory of conflict and violence, this paper will expose the cultural ana structural violence that creates an invisible conflict in the society. r1 structural analysis will explain the existence of pressures on any attempt le achieve welfare and the difference in subsistence ability. On the other hand a cultural analysis will discuss the value orientation differences between communities that disrupt social relation and integration. Adaptive behavior that emerges from any social inequality is preceded by a value orientation system and communal attitude.

Abstract

The research entitles Lexicon in Malay Traditional Wedding: Etnolinguistic Study. This research is inspired by uniqueness traditiona Malay wedding. The aim of this research is to describe the terms of series of activities and speech acts used in each set of Malay traditional wedding. Besides, it also interpret es the meanings of the activities. The data used as the object of the research are written and oral texts dealing with the traditional Malay wedding. Such as Tenggantung-gantung, Malam Berinai, Upacara Berandam, Upacara Khatam Al-Qur 'an, Upacara Hantaran Belanja, and others.
