<![CDATA[The manuscript of “Mengadili Sang Sapurba” is a process by the writer in creating a theater play. The play inspired by the reality of people’s life and poverty the of Riau using two old Malay manuscipts of Malay History and The Tale of Hang Tuah, the writer try to “embrace” these issues. Sejarah Melayu or The Malay History describes an agreement between a king called Sang sapurba and a Malay leader named Demang Lebar Daun. This agreement gave the king power that made him stand above the law. Even when the king and his family did wrong things, his people could not stop them. Meanwhile Hikayat Hang Tuah, represented by main character of Hang Jebat, struggled against the cruelty and arbitrariness of the ruling king. The rebellion started when Hang Jebat disagrees with an unjust death penalty delivered bythe king to his best friend Hang Tuah. Nowadays, writer sees the agreement between Sang Sapurba and Demang Lebar Daun is still hunting Malay (Riau) people. This can be seen in the current condition in Riau, where the Malays have no courage to fi ght their rights. In theplay of Mengadili Sang Sapurba, the writer feels the needs of embracing the past in order to learn and take a lesson from it.Keywords: Sang Sapurba, Hang Jebat, and Agreement.]]>

<![CDATA[The community becomes a force to gather the younger generation to do positive things. One of the emerging communities is the literary community. In addition to conducting discussions on literary developments, the literary community also carries out writing training. This is what the Love Writing Community, Bandul Village, Tasik Putri Puyu District, Meranti Islands Regency, did. The main obstacle faced by the Love Writing Community is the lack of tutors or trainers for literary writing activities such as writing short stories. From this service, it can help members of the Bandul Village Love Writing Community understand writing strategies and at the same time the strategy of sending works to mass media that have cultural rubrics.]]>

<![CDATA[This community service program is based on the importance of soft skills for the younger generation. The current initiative aims to stimulate highlanders' interest in learning English through environmental and natural folklore literature, as well as to improve soft skills for Karang Taruna in Penrang Village, Wajo. The goal is to pique people's interest in learning English and help them improve their skills (soft skills). To discover knowledge and support technology, the program use question and answer and discussion methods. During the learning process, the lecturing method was employed to obtain a theoretical understanding of English. Youth are more likely to understand English when it is taught through natural-themed storybooks, according to the findings. Youths exhibit significant improvement after using the book. Another benefit was that young adults may acquire English quickly and use it as a springboard for other activities.]]>

<![CDATA[The goal of this study is to see if using dilemma stories as a teaching tool can help students improve their speaking abilities. The third semester of IAI As'adiyah Sengkang was involved in this study, which employed a descriptive-quantitative method. Interviews were used to acquire data, which were subsequently documented and examined qualitatively. The adoption of the dilemma tale approach can increase students' speaking abilities in the third semester of IAI As'adiyah Sengkang, according to data analysis. The statistical analysis shows that the mean score of the student's accuracy in the pretest (2.45) is lower than in the post-test (3.3), that the mean score of the student's fluency in the pretest (2.4) is lower than in the post-test (3.45), and that the mean score of the student's comprehensibility in the pretest (2.9) is lower than in the post-test (3.3). (3.8). The table reveals that the significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results of the student's speaking ability is higher (10.76) than the inferential statistical analysis shows (1.729).]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to identify the speaking issues second semester English education students at the Islamic Institute of Religion (IAI) As' Adiyah Sengkang encountered that prevented students from speaking English and the solutions employed by English education students to address those issues. In the second semester of the Islamic Institute (IAI) As'adiyah Sengkang, 12 English education students participated in a qualitative study that includes this research. Interviews, questionnaires, and observation served as the research tools. The findings indicated that the second-semester English education students' speaking issues were due to a lack of vocabulary mastery, a lack of confidence, pronunciation issues, feelings of embarrassment and fear of making mistakes, nervousness, and a habit of speaking in their native tongue. Students in the second semester of English education employ the following methods to improve their speaking abilities: learning English through songs and movies, practicing a lot, and remaining calm.]]>

<![CDATA[This research aims to describe the meaning of the song Kurik Kundi by Suhaimi Zein. The analysis focuses on the connotative meaning and social values in the song. This research uses a qualitative approach. The data discussed are words, phrases, and clauses sourced from the Kurik Kundi song. The method used to collect data is observation and the data analysis method is the inductive method. The results of the research show the connotation meaning found in the songs. There are words and phrases indicating the relationship between words and phrases with social life and Malay culture. The social values contained in the song of Kurik Kundi indicate the polite attitude of Malays towards fellow Malays and other people. Good manners in expressing the daily attitudes of Malay people. The enthusiasm in carrying out activities, and cooperation carried out by Malay people to achieve common goals in society.]]>

<![CDATA[Gempa Lombok tahun 2018 merupakan salah satu peristiwa gempa bumi yang merusak di Indonesia. Gempa tersebut menimbulkan banyak kerugian baik korban jiwa maupun kerusakan infrastruktur dan bangunan. Kerusakan struktur tanah dan bangunan akibat gempa bumi akan berbeda antara satu tempat dengan tempat lainnya, bahkan terkadang tidak sesuai seperti yang diperkirakan. Salah satu faktor yang dapat mempengaruhinya adalah efek tapak lokal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi efek tapak lokal di Kelurahan Jempong Baru, Kota Mataram sebagai upaya mitigasi bencana guna mengurangi tingkat kerusakan yang terjadi akibat bencana gempa bumi. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, pengukuran mikrotremor single station telah dilakukan di 26 titik dengan rata-rata spasi antar titik ±500 m. Dengan menggunakan software Geopsy, data mikrotremor telah diolah menggunakan metode Horizontal to Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR) untuk mendapatkan frekuensi natural (f0) dan faktor amplifikasi maksimum (A0). Indeks kerentanan seismik tanah (Kg) juga telah dihitung berdasarkan nilai f0 dan A0 yang telah diperoleh. Tanah di Kelurahan Jempong Baru memiliki frekuensi natural antara 0,56 – 1,04 Hz dan faktor amplifikasi maksimum antara 5 – 15,5. Hal ini mengindikasikan adanya lapisan sedimen yang berbulir lepas, seperti loose sand, tufa, aliran lahar dan sebagainya yang sangat tebal. Indeks kerentanan seismik tanah berkisar antara 20 – 380 dengan nilai yang tinggi berada di bagian Timur ke arah Selatan. Kg di daerah ini tergolong sangat tinggi, sehingga potensi kerusakan akibat gempa bumi sangat tinggi. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu pertimbangan dalam pembuatan rencana tata ruang dan basic engineering design dengan penambahan survey lain yang lebih tinggi resolusinya. Hal ini menjadi sangat penting mengingat wilayah Kelurahan Jempong Baru direncanakan menjadi tempat relokasi kantor Walikota Kota Mataram.]]>

Salah kreativitas menggali nilai-nilai suatu daerah adalah dengan menghasilkan karya film. Dengan film selian dapat mengaktifkan kegiatan masyarakat dan dapat juga menjadi sosialisasi nilai-nilai suatu daerah. Efek kemajuan teknologi komunikasi ini berdampak besar pada generasi muda, baik sebagai kunsumen (bersifat pasif) dari media teknologi komunikasi maupun aktif menggunakan teknologi sebagai pembuat konten atau tontonan. Untuk itulah diperlukan pengarahan pada generasi muda dalam mengkreasikan nilai-nilai positif suatu daerah melalui karya film pendek.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to analyse the level of understanding and misconceptions of students using the five tier diagnostic test instrument on temperature and heat material. The research method used was descriptive quantitative research. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Brang Rea with the number of participants as many as 25 students of class XI MIA 1. The instrument used in this research is a five tier diagnostic test of 20 items. Based on the results of the analysis of this instrument can not only analyse misconceptions but also can analyse students who fully understand, partially understand and do not understand the concept. So that the results of the diagnostic test analysis of students obtained a full understanding level of 38.93%, and a misconception level of 38.93%. Partially understood by 13.33% and did not understand the concept by 8.80%. The cause of misconceptions is mostly caused by one's own thinking because the average confidence level of the causal source for one's own thinking has a greater value than the other causal sources. Although the percentage of misconceptions is moderate, there are still students who experience misconceptions on the material.]]>
