Abstract

Electrical energy is needed by the citizen of Indonesia including in Palembang City. Palembang is growth rapidly, in contrast there is still citizen who has not enjoyed  the electricity especially who is living in Sukamulya Village, Sematang Borang Sub-ditrict. Constructing a Micro Hydro Powerplant is an effort to facilitate an electircity to the area which has not been covered by PT. PLN. Howefer before constructing a hydro  power plant, a study should be conducted in order to estimate the potency of electrical power which could be generated. Therefore the authors have collected some primary datas such as dimension of river, velocity of water and geographical condition. These datas is used to calculate the potency of energy, either in form of potential or kinetic energy. Based on the on-site observation, all locations have no enough elevation difference. Nevertheles the onlyform of  energy which can be converted into electrical energy is kinetic energy, which determined by the river flow velocity. The fastest river flow is found  in Location of B amounting 0.35 m/s. By optimazing the dimension of turbine and considering the efficiency of transmision and generator, it predicts Turbine, located in Location B, can generate electrical energy with the maximum power of 66.26 Watt. Based on the results, the electrical power potency in all locations are low and did not fullfill the requirements. The power can be increased by levelling up the elevation of the upstream. It can be done by constructing a dam which  integrated with irrigation system. Abstract

The culinary industry is a strategic sector for economic development in Indonesia. in the province of  Bangka Belitung Islands, now this has been done many culinary business home users better known business with catering. The culinary preferred to official events such as the wedding is one of the gado gado. The gado gado made with various mixtures ingredients like cucumber, carrots, cabbage and salad leaves. The process of cut carrots can be quite complex. Manually, the process of cutting carrots started with cut carrots into thin-thin, then cut extends so that the measuring length of approx. 7cm and thick 2-4 mm. For 5 kg of carrots, takes approximately 2 hours with 4 people of labor. By because it made the chopper engine carrots to help the culinary production to execution more efficient. The chopper engine carrots made dimension 900 mm x 530 mm x 400 mm, with motor power ½ Hp, and audible 1400 rpm. Cutting system using the rotary system namely the dish/stand eye cut the rotating while the position of the carrot is silent. The torque on the axis of the cutter 635,8325 Nmm. The research results show that to chop 1 kg carrot takes approximately 6-7 minutes. Now the results obtained are as much as 53,075% chopping results carrot is good or in accordance with the size of the expected, as much as 28,975 % showed good enough, 17,95 % less good. Keywords: Carrots, Chopper Engine carrots,  Chainsaws

Abstract

The development of the automotive industri in Indonesia that uses electrical energy sources is still a competition in the environment of college students. One of them is the Tarsius X3 electric car that has 2 kilowatts of power with a rear drive system that is used to transfer power from the electric motor to the wheels. Development, design and analysis of the drive shaft using software, aims to determine the surface tension and deformation that occurs on the shaft. Stress analysis uses the theory of energy distortion (von mises). Loading on the shaft is based on, electrical motor torsion, the weighing of car and stress of the shaft material permits by conducting tensile testing of the ASTM E-8 method as input for simulating CAD software (Inventor). The software simulation results show that the von mises maximum stress occurs at 162.463 MPa and the minimum stress occurs at 0.0011 MPa. The maximum deformation occurs at4.74 x 10-2mm and a minimum of 0 mm. The stress and deformation that occur is still at the safety factor limit of 3.83 at under static conditions. Keywords: Shaft, Von Mises Stress, Safety Factor, Deformation

Abstract

Refrigerators are one of the alternative tools for storing vegetables so that they are not quickly damaged and rot which is currently used by many vegetable traders or housewives. Refrigeration machines certainly require electricity as a refrigerator besides not all households have refrigerators or commonly called refrigerators. Therefore it is necessary to design a simple vegetable refrigerator system with ice cube media, which does not use electricity and is very economical in addition to helping the community to store the vegetables so that they are not damaged and rot quickly. This cooling system starts from ice cubes as the main medium, which produces cold air, which is at the top of the vegetable rack and the cold steam will drop down and spread throughout the cooling room. Research conducted on how long the ice cube will melt, calculating the maximum cold temperature produced in the cooling room, looking for efficiency and comparing vegetables stored in the cool room with vegetables in the open air. Keywords: : re-bulit, refrigerator,vegetable, ice cubes

Abstract

Reinforcing steel is a very important material contained in the concrete, where it has a function as a tensile load receiver where the concrete is very weak in receiving the tensile load. In the event of concrete and reinforced concrete fires can be complementary because the reinforcing steel can accept tensile load while the concrete can accept the press load. The method of testing conducted in this study using the method of tensile testing, metallography, and composition testing. Where prior to testing the reinforcing steel is first casted in the concrete after it is done combustion process with a temperature of 400 ° C, 600 ° C, 800 ° C and cooled with water and air cooling medium. After done all the testing process got result that is reinforcing steel which has the most optimal tensile stress occurred at temperature of 600 ° C with water cooling media which got value of tensile strength equal to 596,46 N / mm2. Keywords: : Reinforcing Steel, Tensile Test
