Abstract

Electric energy has been transmiting from power station to end user with transmission and distribution lines.Lightning strokes are problems that occure in transmission and distribution lines and make them fault when theelectric energy were transmited. Surge Diverter or Lightning Arrester has been installing to reduce these faults.In this paper the simulation of lightning stroke and lightning arrester performance on distribution lines 20 kVwere done using EMTP (Electromagnetic Transient Program). Some parameters such us impuls voltage andincreasing voltage on distribution line was inverstigated. As case study in this simulation, Mojosongo 1 mainfeeder 20 kV three phase lines were used.The simulation results show that the lightning stroke 20 kA in By1-61-61E-84-9I on S phase at 0,1 ms, makevoltage on S phase was increased about 1,3054 MV. For R phase and T phase will increase of induced voltagewere 0.79539 MV and 0.80484 MV. We also show the performance of MOV Arrester (Metal Oxide Varistor) inovercoming lightning stroke trouble, where arrester can decrease voltage up to 15.198 kV on S phase, while atR phase and T phase arrester can decrease voltage up to 11.375 kV and 13.616 kV.

Abstract

[Title: Analysis of User Behaviour for Public Transport Special for Intermodes Transportation]In traveling, each rider will choose the route that gives the minimum fare. The journey can be expressed in terms of monetary cost, travel time, distance, safety, comfort, and cost is not borne by the traveler (social cost). Attributes are specific to each road segment (link), so it can’t be aggregated for a more long. Attribute segment in transport modeling approach behavior (behavioral), including 2 primary system, the system of activity attributes and attribute the traveler service systems. Pretty much the traveler who wants to use mass transit intermodal transportation. This research was conducted in the city of Semarang Metropolitan Indonesia: identify the purpose and perception of public transport user behavior on the network and create a model for inter-user behavior on public transport intermodal network. The combined value of the coeffient of determination of the overall model is 0.931. This means that the model is able to explain 93.1% inter-user behaviour. Behavioural characteristic of users of public transport in the intermodal network in the form of the number of activities that a lot, have enough users mature age, education level is high enough, is not associated with gender, the limitations of private vehicle ownwership. Perception of public transport user behaviior on the network inter-linked with the comfort, safety, convenience, capacity, quality and quantity of good network, resonable travel expenses, as well as interdiciplinary operator.

Abstract

The performance of heat exchangers usually deteriorates with time as a result of accumulation of depositson heat transfer surfaces. The layer of deposits represents additional resistance to heat transfer and causesthe rate of heat transfer in a heat exchanger to decrease. The net effect of these accumulations on heattransfer is represented by a fouling factor Rf , which is a measure of the thermal resistance introduced byfouling.In this case, the type of fouling is the precipitation of solid deposits in a fluid on the heat transfer surface.The mineral deposits forming on the inner and the outer surfaces of fine tubes in the heat exchanger. Thefouling factor is increases with time as the solid deposits build up on the heat exchanger surface. Foulingincreases with increasing temperature and decreasing velocity.In this research, we obtain the coefisien clean overal 5,93 BTU/h.ft2.oF, Dirt factor 0,004 BTU/h.ft2 0F,Pressure drope in tube 2,84 . 10-3 Psi and pressure drope in shell 4,93 . 10-4 Psi.This result are less thanthe standard of parameter. Its means this Heat exchanger still clean relativity and can operate continousslywithout cleaning.

Abstract

Permodelan sandbox dibuat dengan system tektonik konvergen dan divergen dengan menggunakan pergerakan satu sumbu. Permodelan ini bertujuan untuk membuat alat mesin sandbox yang bisa digunakan untuk penelitian dan pengajaran. Mesin berhasil dibuat dan sudah diujicobakan. Ujicoba dengan menggunakan satu lapisan pasir yang diambil dari Formasi Ngrayong. Percobaan selanjutnya dengan beberapa lapisan. Percobaan dilakukan dengan pengamatan yang meliputi pengamatan permukaan dan penampang verikal. Pengamatan yang aspek morfologi, kelurusan struktur, dan perkembangan sesar yang terbentuk. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan morfologi sangat berkaitan dengan pembentukan sesar. Struktur sesar dengan pola forward propagating thrust faults. Sesar tersebut disebabkan imbrikasi. Lipatan yang terbentuk akibat mekanisme propagasi sesar.[Design of Compression and Extensional of the Sandbox Model and Its Benefit] Divergent and convergent tectonic sytem can be studied from the sandbox modelling. This model has a axis of movement. Sandbox models itends to study the progress of structural geology such as fault and fold. We successfully made machine of sandbox. This machine has basal detachment from duraluminum. Material for model is taken by loose sand from Ngrayong Formation. This experiment focused to observation about morphology in surface and thrust or backthrust in subsurface. This experiment has compression system. Result of model was that morphological sequences associated with fault sequences. Fault is formed to have the pattern of forward propagating thrust faults. It’s caused by imbricate thrust system. Folding is formed by the mechanism of fault propagation folding.

Abstract

The earth consists largely of water because the land area is smaller than the ocean. Human beings on this earthcan not escape the need for water. Water is the main requirement for the process of life on the earth.Relatively clean water that is coveted by men, whether for purposes of daily life, for industrial purposes, for thecleanliness of city sanitation, as well as for agricultural purposes and so forth. Heavy metal pollution is a veryserious issue to be handled, because of adverse environmental and ecosystem in general. Heavy metallic elementis the element which has a density of more than 5 gr/cm3. Hg has a density of 13.55 gr/cm3. Disaster is anoutbreak of Minamata mercury poisoning in people who eat fish contaminated by mercury in Minamata Japan,and this event is known as Minamata Disease. Efforts to tackle the heavy metal pollution can actually be doneusing a chemical process or by microorganism such as microbes and bacteria.

Abstract

Research is done to analyze coconut branch fiber as car body composite. Analyzing is based onmaterial, composition, and strength of material. Research was done in laboratory. Coconut branchfiber is obtained by natural drying process and cutting to become fiber with ±0,5 mm of length.Reinforcement and binder is determined polyester resin. Coir (coconut fiber) have 1.15 kg/m3 ofdensity, 1.15 MPa of strength dan modulus elastisitas 4 – 6 GPa. And based on specimen and studyof literatures can show that increase of cellulose of natural fiber will increase modulus of elasticity.The Increasing of modulus of elasticity will be maximal with cellulose more than 60%. Color ofspecimen is transparent yellow.

Abstract

Swimmingpool starting block is one of swimming equiptment that must be used in swimming sport competition.It used not only by senior athlete but also the beginner. In addition, it used not only in one swimmingpool butalso another pool which has different height of watersurface and swimmingpoll wallside.Now, the condition of starting block only fit with some of athlete. The other athlete had difficulties when use it.Because of that, design improvement need to be done for starting block to be adaptable for all athlete in anyage and adaptable for the condition of watersurface.Adaptability fitur improvement for starting block makes fitur stabilition of product composition getting worse,and those things is unwanted. So that Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) method is needed to solvethe problem technical contradiction so the ideal final output can be reached.Adaptable starting block design can be reached after solve the technical contradiction happened when solvingthe problems used TRIZ. Reducing the parameters which had disadvantages for the ideal final product suchas: weight of the moving object, quantity of the material used, dangerous factor of the object, and dangerousfactors from environtment.

Abstract

Distribusi air di Kota Samarinda masih belum optimal dikarenakan factor tekanan air di dalam pipa yang rendah pada waktu tertentu dan kehilangan air fisik karena kebocoran. Artikel ini memuat analisis jaringan perpipaan distribusi air bersih di Kelurahan Harapan Baru, Kota Samarinda menggunakan perangkat lunak EPANET 2.0. Hasil simulasi dibandingkan dengan hasil pengukuran tekanan air di lapangan pada kran pelanggan menggunakan manometer. Dari hasil penelitian, diketahui terdapat sebanyak 7 junction yang nilai tekanan airnya di bawah batas minimum kriteria pipa distribusi dari Peraturan Menteri Pekerjaan Umum No.18/PRT/M/2007 sebesar 0,5 atm, serta sebanyak 11 pipa yang nilai kecepatan aliran airnya di bawah batas minimum kriteria yang sama sebesar 0,3 m/s. Rekomendasi perbaikan jaringan perpipaan distribusi air bersih berupa tekanan minimum sebesar 0,5 bar pada pelanggan dan kontinuitas, yakni perubahan pengaturan tekanan pada valve existing, dan penambahan pompa booster pada beberapa titik. Terdapat perbedaan nilai tekanan air yang cukup signifikan antara hasil simulasi model EPANET dengan pengukuran langsung pada kran pelanggan
