Abstract

An effective and efficient paper drying tool for printing industry is very important. Utilize of this tool is to dry the paper will be printed to get a dry paper that have ideal temperature and humidity level. With the result that will make easier the process of production and to get the optimal quality of printed result.Focus of this Final Report is to design data acquisition humidity level and temperature system control to the paper drying machine based on fuzzy logic control using Atmega 8535 microcontroller, in order to get the paper that have ideal temperature and humidity level is about 33oC – 35.5oC and 41% of water content in 0.00075 inch of thickness for each of the sheet later  (Perry’s Chemical Engineers’ Handbook: 12.34) 10].Observation result of fuzzy logic control in paper drying system show that bigger reference of temperature offered to the system so that the time to reach steady state condition will be more longer, where the initial condition of temperature at the same value. To get the dry ideal paper result, the setting reference of temperature that appropriate is 50oC, where the drying process with 50oC reference is resulted the paper with 38.0oC temperature and 40.9% of humidity.Keyword: Paper drying system, Fuzzy logic control, ATMega 8535 microcontroller

Abstract

This paper simulate WiMAX network with the implementation of Weighted Round Robin (WRR) based scheduler. This WiMAX simulation is made in five scenario, where each of scenario has varied number of Subscriber Station (SS) using particular class of service. Classes of services used in this simulation are Unsolicited Grant Service (UGS), real time Polling Service (rtPS), extended real time Polling Service (ertPS), non real time Polling Service (nrtPS), dan Best Effort (BE). The design of WiMAX network simulation use Network Simulator  – 2 (NS-2) version 2.29.3. While, WiMAX module that installed to NS-2 is developed by Network & Distributed System laboratory (NDSL),with 2.03 version. This Final Project is aimed at evaluating WRR based scheduler in relation to WiMAX network performance. Performance metrics reported in this work are throughput, packet loss, and average delay. The result of test shows that WRR based scheduler has good performance to suppress packet loss, which the value of packet loss decrease until 0 %. WRR give high throughput for class of service that has high value of Minimum Reserved Traffic Rate (MRTR) and priority. The average delay that obtained has very small value in mikro second. It shows that WRR has good performance to suppress average delay. Level of throughput and average delay in every service class is affected by the number of SS using that particular service class.Keywords – WiMAX, NS-2, Weighted Round Robin

Abstract

Electric vehicle is the one of important solution to reduce pollution result from fuel vehicle gas emission. By means of electrical motor the electric vehicle have  the power that convert from electrical energy to mechanical energy to turn its wheels.Many fields in electrical engineering support the electric vehicle development including electrical motor technology, power converter, digital processor based control system, and also battery technology for saving the electric energy.  Now the limited fosil based energy, the demanding of environment friendly of electric vehicle, and also technology support could motivate almost of  the auto mobile producers to give the attention  in electrical vehicle. Abstract

This research is about modelling the communication channel affected by the rain. The parameter of the model include the fading and polarization change from 30 GHz milimeter wave LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution Service) propagation. The acquisition of data was getting online from Parsivel device supported by ASDO application software, and for rainfall measurement there are 3 raingauges used in 4 different locations at the area of ITS campus.Keywords: place variation, time variation, LMDS

Abstract

PI (Proportional-Interal) controller is a control method that have been applying in industrial proccess. This control  method have two control parameters the proporsional parameter (Kp) and the integral parameter (Ki). In conventional methot, parameter PI is tuned by using trial and error. That problem is how tuning parameter is easyly and not long time to find this parameter. Autotuning paramer by  using fuzzy logic is one method to solve this problem. In autotuning method, PI parameter is calculate by some of rules base. This methode have two inputs, error and change of error. Main controller of this plant, control fluid level, use Atmega8535 microcontroller and water pump as the actuator to control. This reseach is succesfull for  tuning PI parameter and to control the fluid level as we want. The respon system have rapid rise time, no offset and no overshoot. Abstract

OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is a transmission technique which uses some orthogonal subcarrier frequencies (multicarrier). Each of the subcarrier is modulated by conventional modulation technique at low symbol ratio. It can be a PSK (Phase Shift Keying) modulation. PSK modulation is chosen as its simplicity and ability to reduce amplitude fluctuation which could leads to attenuation.A simulation with Matlab is made in this final project. The purpose of this simulations is to analyze M-PSK modulation effect on OFDM system performance under AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise)  noisy channel condition. System parameter that being changed is modulation level of PSK with system inputs consist of random data, grayscale images, and sounds. OFDM system performance is observed by analyzing Bit Error Rate (BER) values and Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) received by OFDM receiver by varying channel SNR value.The results show that in grayscale pictures and sounds transmission, BPSK is the most noise  durable modulation technique compared with QPSK, 16PSK, and 256PSK. It can be shown from the least BPSK BER value compared with other three modulations. Received SNR value shows received image quality on receiver side. The simulation results show that on high noise channel condition (channel SNR <6dB) using 256PSK is better than BPSK, QPSK or 16PSK.Keywords: OFDM, PSK, BER, SNR

Abstract

Many industrial activities need remote monitoring facilities to perform their works. One of monitoring technology implementation is temperature monitoring system application. Temperature value is required in many physical calculation, starting from chemical reaction until machine efficiency. Conventional monitoring system has some weaknesses such as impracticability and data inaccuracy. Therefore, it is required to develop a temperature monitoring system which can be accessed via web using automatic acquisition. The purpose of this Final Project is to make a temperature monitoring system which can be accessed via web using data acquisition via parallel port in the computer (PC). In developing this temperature monitoring system, it uses LM35 temperature sensor as a transducer. Visual Basic 6.0 is used in developing a data acquisition software and Microsoft Access file as a temperature database. PHP is used as a web programming language. System development steps which have been done are literature study, hardware and software design based on literature study, implementation of hardware and application program which has beendesigned, and research to the system.From the research, it can be obtained that temperature data acquisition can be done automatically via parallel port. Data from the acquisition using temperature sensor has an average difference of 0.58°C when it is compared with the thermometer reading. From the system testing, it can be obtained that temperature monitoring can be done in real time. Temperature data searching can be done from the web which has been created. Abstract

Street Lighting Lamp (SLL) is the city or regency government public service for security and  regularity of the  street area environment.As the number of  SLLs increased there are illegal installation of SLL making the unpredictable billing for the government and increasing the budget. To solve the problem, the power consumption measurement must be implemented  to get the efficient billing.
