Abstract

An ATM (Asyncronous Transfer Mode) switching system is designed to operate at high speeds and can serve a variety of traffic type with quality services. One of the technology could improve the performance of an ATM connection is rerouting algorithm include Controller Contention procedure as the procedure of operation. Rerouting algorithm is an algorithm that is able to overcome the routing conflict at a certain level, and restore the routing according to destination address. Contention Procedure Controller is a controller that is located in the connection element is used to determine the route, can proceed or not. This procedure is found on the rerouting algorithm using Banyan networks that have a single point in the framework of connections in ATM switching. In this research a simulation was designed to simulate the rerouting algorithm both without conflict and with conflict at various levels. Controller Contention Procedure aims to provide a detailed description when conflicts occur in switching elements and the duty to select ATM routing cells based on its RNS value. This procedure should refer to the rerouting algorithm and generate output according to the algorithm. Keywords: rerouting algorithm, Contention Controller, ATM switching, Banyan network.

Abstract

Chimney emissions of coal-fired plants have a negative impact on the environment, as well as causing disruption to the ecosystem and human health because of the spread of SO2 (sulpur dioxide), ash, Nox (nitrogen oxide) and CO2 (carbon dioxide). Abstract

We propose a simple technique to reduce PAPR for a Very High Throughput Wireless LAN with backward compatibility with IEEE 802.11a/n system. By applying proposed phase rotation in partial transmit sequence technique we got PAPR reduction up to 3.01dB lower than conventional one, yields in comparable PAPR with IEEE802.11n preamble. Abstract

In any type of telecommunications network planning, calculate the traffic and the dimensions are always needed. Calculating the amount of carried out traffic to determine the traffic that will be distributed, while calculating the dimensions necessary to determine the amount of network that need to be provided. Similarly, in the CCS7 signaling network planning, traffic calculation and its dimensioning also needs to be done. In this paper will be discussed on how to calculate the dimensions of traffic and the CCS7 network. Objects that are calculated include the traffic between the SP and STP linkset, traffic between pairs of STP linkset, linkset dimensions, and dimensions of SP and STP.

Abstract

Accelerometer is a sensor that can measure acceleration of object. This sensor can be used for till sensing detection, 3D game interface, computer’s mouse, and vehicle navigation system. Operating of this sensor need a good calibration to get parameters which determines the acceleration. This paper present result of calibration of 3 Axis ADXL335 accelerometer. Calibration of this sensor consist of 3 step testing on every axis of this sensor, sensor’s natural characteristic testing, ZeroG voltage testing, and sensor’s sensitivity testing. The result of testing ZeroG voltage and sensitivity must be compare with information from datasheet. From this testing can be concluded that the ADXL335 accelerometer has responsive output. Percentage of deviation standard is 0.257397% and the minimum is 0%. The value of ZeroG voltage from testing are 1,637390 volt for X axis, 1,638319 volt for Y axis, dan 1,736877 volt for Z axis. And the sensitivity are 0,3096 V/g for X axis, 0,3296925 V/g for Y axis, Z axis is 0,3103370 V/g. Keywords: Accelerometer, accelereration, calibration, ZeroG voltage, sensitivity.

Abstract

Provision of broadband communications services in High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS) is a new idea and worthy to be discussed. One is the application of OFDM transmission technique as a medium for digital modulation in HAPS. HAPS is a new technology in the telecommunications sector at an altitude of 18-50 km (the stratosphere) and used to serve the broadband wireless access (BWA) and other multimedia devices. HAPS technology has advantages that can cover the lack of terrestrial and satellite technology. Performance of OFDM transmission technique in which a HAPS channel Rician channel can be evaluated by looking at the effect of K-factor. K-factor is the dominant signal power ratio (Line Of Sight) with multipath signal power. In real conditions on the ground, the received power is a combination of the dominant signal power and multipath signal power. The increase in elevation angle between the HAPS platform with user terminals resulted in the increasing value of K-factor and the influence that affected the performance of OFDM systems multipath fading. Effect of K-factor can be identified by computer simulation. Effect of K-factor observed by looking at the value of Bit Error Rate (BER) on the system to the value of signal to noise ratio (SNR) by varying the bitrate and frequency doppler. The results showed that the increasing value of K-factor at the same bitrate the smaller the resulting BER. This shows the better performance of OFDM systems. Meanwhile, the OFDM system performance deteriorated over increasing Doppler frequency. This is because the increasing value of K-factor at the same Doppler frequency resulting more BER value. Abstract

This paper presents a new design of the torque and stator flux estimators for Direct Torque control (DTC) for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation, which permit very fast calculations.An alternative variable word-size approach in two’s complement fixed-point format is used for the implementation, in order to minimize calculation errors and the hardware resource usage. The simulation results of DTC model in Matlab, which performed double-precision calculations, are used as references to digital computations executed in FPGA implementation.The Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) method is used to verify the minimal error between Matlab simulation and the experimental results, and thus the well-functionality of the implemented estimators.Keywords: FPGA, DTC, HIL

Abstract

The T-S (Takagi-Sugeno) model approach consists to construct nonlinear or complex dynamic systems that cannot be exactly modeled, by means of interpolating the behavior of several LTI (Linear Time Invariant) sub models. Since T-S observer based controller has been considered to develop some systematic design algorithms to guarantee the stability and specific performances for the T-S model based systems, this paper represent a new design of fuzzy state observer to estimate the states of engine torque control system of spark ignition engine.
