Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung or Journal of Agricultural Engineering (JTEP-L) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal. The journal invites scientists and engineers throughout the world to exchange and disseminate theoretical and practice-oriented researches in the whole aspect of Agricultural Enginering including but not limited to Agricultural Mechanization, Irrigation, Soil and Water Engineering, Postharvest Technology, Renewable Energy, Farm Structure, and related fields. The first issue was published in October 2012 by Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has ISSN number 2302 - 559X for print edition on October 10, 2012 then 2549 - 0818 for online edition on January 10, 2017. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung is issued periodically four times a year in March, June, September, and December. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been indexed by Google Scholar, Crossref, Directory Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and CABI. Since Volume 5 Issue 1 (2016) Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been accredited as SINTA 3 by Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI). Starting Volume 10 Issue 3 (2021) the journal received accreditation SINTA 2.

Abstract

The entry of water into seed until reached saturation point on the soaking process at room temperature, in common, may take more than one day. Mean while, longer soaking time can cause microbial contamination and may influence product quality in term of color, taste, and smell. Soaking in warmer liquid method is a common method used for shortening the soaking time. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of soaking temperature on the coefficient of diffusion and on the physical properties of Kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.). The research was conducted at 5 different soaking temperatures: 28 oC (control), 35 oC, 40 oC, 45 oC, and 50 oC, with 3 replications for each treatment. The parameters measured were dimensions of specimen, weight of specimen during soaking. The diffusivity of water were than derived from water content data. The results showed that the higher the soaking temperature, the faster the change of dimensions, weight, and water content. The coefficient of water diffusion of kidney bean at soaking temperatures: 28 oC, 35 oC, 40 oC, 45 oC, and 50 oC, was 12,91 x 10-11 m2/s; 6,42 x 10-11 m2/s; 25,64 x 10-11 m2/s; 60,20 x 10-11 m2/s and 48,24 x 10-11 m2/s, respectively.  It showed that the higher temperature, the faster the water diffusion rate and it follows exponential equation with the coefficient of determination, R2 = 0,643. Abstract

Perubahaan tata guna lahan merupakan sesuatu yang pasti terjadi sebagai akibat adanya pertambahan penduduk dan perkembangan ekonomi. Namun perubahan tata guna lahan sering kali mengabaikan respon hidrologi sebagai akibat pertambahan penduduk. Adanya banjir di tahun 2016 mengindikasikan adanya permasalahan dalam tata guna lahan pada DAS Air Dingin. Berpijak pada permasalahan tersebut penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk: (a) menganalisa pengaruh perubahaan penggunaan lahan terhadap respon hidrologi di DAS Air Dingin, dan (b) menentukan pengelolaan lahan optimal sehingga mengurangi laju aliran permukaan yang terjadi di DAS Air Dingin. Menggunakan model HEC-HMS dan metode Curve Number – Soil Conservation Service (CN-SCS) dalam merumuskan skenario penggunaan lahan sehingga aliran permukaan di DAS Air Dingin dapat digambarkan dalam bentuk hidrograf. Nilai CN-SCS divalidasi menggunakan metode Nash-Sutclife dengan nilai efisiensi (E) 0,75 yang berarti model memiliki akurasi tinggi dan dapat diterapkan. Hasil simulasi terhadap skenario 1 menghasilkan debit puncak 497 m3/s lebih kecil jika dibandingkan debit puncak lahan existing 502,4 m3/s.

Abstract

Intrusion of sea water is the infiltration of sea water into the soil. This might be caused by a groundwater excessive exploration. Tangerang District is one of the areas that have great potential sea water intrusion. The aim of research was to predict the limit of salt water intrusion based on the value of DHL and TDS. The primary data were measured using a TOA EC meter CM-14P and then were processed using Surfer 9.0 software and ArcGIS. The measurement results was compared with PAHIAA Decision (1986) and Carroll’s Classification (1962). The results showed that the intrusion area could be identified by DHL and TDS values. On the area located far from the beach, intrusion was influenced by the presence of a river in the region. This was indicated by the regression analysis that showed a correlation between distance and value DHL/TDS with a negative slope value. Based on DHL and TDS parameters in observation area, the groundwater conditions in  Tangerang District within a radius of 0.095 km to 5 km from the littoral areas are categorized as medium intrusion zone (slightly brackish water) with DHL 1500-1999 μmhos/cm and TDS values 1000-3000 mg/LU.

Abstract

The purpose of barbequing is to cookfood and provide a distinctive smoke aroma. This research aims at testingandperforming of a furnace grill. Thefurnace grill was fabricated with main components including combustionchamber, roasting rack, nozzlepipe, and a blower. Thegrill was designed with a roasting rack of 1800 cm 2 and hada capacity of 16 piece of chicken parts.Grill testing was conducted with and without roasting load.The parameterto observing included fuel capacity, roasting temperature, weight loss, amount of fuel consumption, airconsumption, and roasting duration. Results using coconut shell charcoal showed that the grill working goodwith roasting temperature of 416.3 o C. The grill had a fuel capacity of 2 kg with coconut shell charcoal and airconsumption of 25.44 kg. The roasting capacity was 16 pieces of chicken breast and was 16 pieces of chicken leg.The average roasting duration was 4.84 minuteswith 2.3 minutespausefor preparation and serving. Workingcapacity of the grill was 144 pieces per hour for chicken breast and 142pieces per hour for leg. Average weightloss was 20.5% and 11.3% for chicken breast and chicken leg, respectively. Fuel consumption for each roastingprocess was 395.5gram ofcoconut shell charcoal, equivalent to 13.441 kJ. Electric power consumption was150.13 kJ for each roasting process.Keywords:Furnace grill, design, performance, charcoal, cost.

Abstract

Zalacca Sidimpuan (Salacca sumatrana) is one of the salak fruit found in Indonesia. The characteristics of this type of zalacca have a distinctive shape, aroma and taste. During the harvest and overproduction, one of the efforts that can be done is to diversify food processing, namely retention. The handling in the process of shading will have an impact on the physicochemical properties of the resulting flour One of them is by giving immersion treatment and slice thickness variation. The purpose of this study was to examine the physicochemical characteristics of zalacca flour. The process of this research includes stripping the skin, separating fruit flesh with seeds, slicing with thickness (2 mm, 4 mm and 6 mm) and soaking with sodium metabisulfite concentration of 1.5 gr for 10 minutes, soaking with water and control (without soaking). The results showed that zalacca had a moisture content of 78%. Zalacca flour which has the highest water content of 11.945% in the control treatment (without immersion) 6 mm slice thickness. Salak flour which has the highest vitamin C level of 0.0585% in the control treatment (without soaking) the slice thickness is 2 mm. Zalacca flour has the highest percentage of fineness of flour 27,745% in the control treatment (without soaking) slice thickness of 2 mm. Zalacca flour which has the highest bulk density of 0.701 gr / ml on the soaking treatment of sodium metabisulfite slices thickness of 4 mm. Zalacca flour which has the highest hue of 57.9 ° on the treatment of soaking sodium metabisulfite slices thickness of 2 mm.

Abstract

Petani manggis sebagian besar melakukan proses pemanenan dengan cara manual dan masih sangat sederhana, yaitu memetik buah yang masih terjangkau dengan tangan, sedangkan yang tidak terjangkau (jauh) pemanenannya dilakukan menggunakan galah yang terbuat dari bambu. Alat panen bambu masih sederhana dan memiliki beberapa kelemahan yaitu pengarah buah tidak dapat diatur sesuai dengan ukuran buah manggis, galah terlalu panjang dan membutuhkan ruang yang cukup besar, sehingga perlu di rancang alat pemanen manggis dengan kontruksi ringan, tahan lama dan kokoh serta berbentuk teleskopik. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode rancangan teknik yang terdiri dari indentifikasi masalah, perumusan masalah dan penyempurnaan konsep desain, analisis desain, gambar eknik, pembuatan alat dan uji kinerja. Alat panen manggis hasil rancangan terbuat dari alumunium berbentuk teleskopik dengan panjang galah 3 meter. Hasil dari pengujian menunjukkan kapasitas kerja alaat panen hasil rancangan sebesae 23,74 kg/jam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model perhitungan yang dapat digunakan sebagai dasar pengelolaan truk pengangkut TBS, terutama pemberangkatannya. Dengan mengendalikan pemberangkatan truk dari kebun berdasarkan kapasitas nyata pabrik secara sistematis, antrian truk di stasiun penerimaan pabrik dapat diminimalisasi. Faktor-faktor yang diperhitungkan adalah kapasitas pabrik, kapasitas produksi kebun, kesediaan truk, dan kondisi jalan perkebunan. Target akhir dari sistem adalah peningkatan mutu TBS sebagai bahan baku minyak kelapa sawit, yaitu kadar asam lemak bebas (ALB) nya dipertahankan kurang dari 5% dan efisiensi operasional alat angkut (meminimalkan waktu antri truk). Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan simulasi waktu dan kapasitas, untuk mensinkronkan pengangkutan TBS dari kebun dengan kapasitas PMKS dari waktu ke waktu. Analisa parameter kinerja angkutan menunjukkan : 1)Berat TBS tidak mempengaruhi waktu muat-angkut dan waktu hilang, namun berkorelasi dengan kecepatan. 2)Kapasitas PMKS berubah-ubah terhadap waktu. Pasokan TBS dari kebun bisa diatur mengikuti pola kapasitas PMKS, dengan formula untuk jumlah truk yang berangkat dari kebun adalah Jt =  (Jl x Kl)/Kt, dan saat berangkat truk adalah: tb = tl – ts. Metode ini dapat menjadi sistem pendukung pengambilan keputusan (decision support system, DSS) dalam sistem pengelolaan transportasi TBS agar optimum. Kata Kunci:   Angkutan kelapa sawit, antrian truk, decision support system

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the best nutrition for lettuce cultivated in a modified floating system hydroponictechnology. Experimentused inthis researchwas Randomized Complete Block (RBC)with factorial arrangement.Single factor treatments were five different brand nutrients (N1, N2, N3, N4, and N5), each consisted of fivereplicates. Data was analyzed by using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), followed by Least Significant Difference(LSD)multiple comparasion5%. The result showed that the better nutritions for lettucewasGoodplant (N1) andNutri Mix (N5). Were indicated by the better performance of all parameters measured, such as plant height,number of leaves, root length, biomassweight with upper part and lower part.Keyword : Lettuce,Modified floating systemhydroponic technology,Nutrition.
