Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung or Journal of Agricultural Engineering (JTEP-L) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal. The journal invites scientists and engineers throughout the world to exchange and disseminate theoretical and practice-oriented researches in the whole aspect of Agricultural Enginering including but not limited to Agricultural Mechanization, Irrigation, Soil and Water Engineering, Postharvest Technology, Renewable Energy, Farm Structure, and related fields. The first issue was published in October 2012 by Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has ISSN number 2302 - 559X for print edition on October 10, 2012 then 2549 - 0818 for online edition on January 10, 2017. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung is issued periodically four times a year in March, June, September, and December. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been indexed by Google Scholar, Crossref, Directory Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and CABI. Since Volume 5 Issue 1 (2016) Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been accredited as SINTA 3 by Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI). Starting Volume 10 Issue 3 (2021) the journal received accreditation SINTA 2.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati perubahan karakteristik bahan hasil pertanian yang disimpan pada penyimpanan suhu rendah. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperi mental dengan tiga perlakuan penyimpanan, yaitu penyimpanan cool box, penyimpanan dengan pengemas polietilen dan penyimpanan pada suhu ruang. Digunakan tiga macam buah sebagai obyek penelitian, yaitu buah manggis, alpukat, dan jambu biji. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu kadar air, susut bobot, laju respirasi, indeks warna, dan nilai GMD. Penurunan nilai kekerasan ketiga jenis buah pada penyimpanan cool box lebih rendah dari penyimpanan pengemas polietylen dan penyimpanan suhu ruang. Terjadi perubahan warna buah selama penyimpanan dimana perubahan terendah pada penyimpanan cool box dan perubahan tertinggi pada penyimpanan suhu ruang untuk semua jenis buah. Kata kunci: manggis, alpukat, jambu biji, penyimpanan, suhu rendah

Abstract

Teh putih merupakan salah satu jenis teh yang memiliki manfaat yang besar bagi kesehatan karena mengandung polifenol paling tinggi diantara jenis teh lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik mutu ekstrak teh putih serta mengetahui nilai kandungan polifenolnya dengan menggunakan metode ekstraksi maserasi bertingkat. Pada proses ekstraksi, bubuk teh putih dicampurkan dengan tiga jenis pelarut yang memiliki tingkat kepolaran yang berbeda secara berturut-turut yaitu, n-heksana (non polar), aseton 70% (semi polar) dan etanol 96% (polar). Parameter yang diuji meliputi identifikasi bahan baku (kadar air, kadar abu serta kadar serat) dan mutu ekstrak (rendemen parsial, rendemen total, kadar sisa pelarut, warna, bobot jenis dan kadar polifenol). Hasil penelitian menyatakan pada pengujian identifikasi bahan baku sudah memenuhi RSNI 2014. Perbedaan jenis pelarut yang digunakan mempengaruhi nilai mutu ekstrak teh putih yang dihasilkan. Nilai polifenol tertinggi dihasilkan dari pelarut etanol 96% sebesar 17,551% sudah memenuhi RSNI 2014, sedangkan untuk pelarut n-heksana sebesar 5,704% dan pelarut aseton 70% sebesar 8,516% belum memenuhi RSNI 2014. Warna dari ketiga ekstrak berada pada kromatisitas kuning, merah dan kuning kemerahan.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of UV light on pH quality and color of palm sap during storage. The materials used in this research was palm sap then this material radiation by the light of UV in the coolbox. The radiation given for two sample, first sample for palm sap morning tapping and the second is palm sap afternoon tapping with the variation of the uv light is 3, 6, and 9 watt and the time for radiation is 30, 60, and 90 minute. The parameters observed by this reaseach are pH, brix, and color. pH value counted by pH metter, refractometer for brix’s value, and hunter Lab for the color of palm sap. The result showed that, palm sap unradiation having decrease a lot from palm sap with radiation. Along with a decrease in the quality of pH, brix levels in each sample palm sap weren’t having significantly changed but showed the fluktuaktif value. Color of palm sap, L* (lightness) value having increase and a* (redness) with b* (yellowness) having decrease all of them. The decrease in pH quality of 0.38 was smaller than that of the palm sugar sap without irradiated at 0.53.

Abstract

Human activities in utilizing natural resources, including in coal activities without conservation measures will cause environmental damage, among others, the danger of erosion. One of the impacts of erosion is declining land productivity, so it is necessary to follow up in the form of rehabilitation of forests and land. This research aims to identify the estimation of erosion rate on the post-mining land of PT Berau Coal planted with citronella grass and the financial feasibility of citronella grass revegetation. The field method is conducted through surveys and observations to determine the length of slope and slope of a slope. Determination of the sampling point in this study using stratified sampling technique.  Sampling point is all revegetation land planting citronella grassand cover crop there are 6 sampling points. The observed parameters include soil properties, erosion predictions occurring, erosivity factors, soil erosiveness, slope length and slope, crop factor and land conservation, tolerable erosion, and danger level erosion. The results showed the magnitude of the value of the alleged erosion rate by using the USLE method at the research site planted by the seraiwangi plants has considerable erosion potential ranging from a 12% slope of 891.98 tons/ha/yr while the highest soil erosion at the Pit H4 SW L study site at a 30% slope of 3060.10 tons/ha/yr.

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Chrysanthemum cut flowers  (Dendranthema grandiflora L.) after harvest have a short vase life, so that efforts are needed to extend the freshness period. The basic principle of extending the freshness of cut flowers is through soaking in water containing sugar, controlling acidity, and microbes in the soaking solution. This research aims to determine the effect of wuluh starfruit extract and sugar concentrations in the soaking solution on the vase life of chrysanthemums. The research was conducted using Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting two factors, that is concentration of wuluh starfruit (Averrhoa bilimbi Linn.) with variations concentration  0% (B0), 1% (B1), 2% (B2), 3% (B3) and white crystalline sugar with variations concentration 0% (S0), 1% (S1), 2% (S2), 4% (S3), so there are 16 treatment combinations. Each treatment was three repetitions. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variants (ANOVA) followed by an Honestly Significant Difference Test (BNJ) with a 95% confidence levels. The results showed that treatment giving of wuluh starfruit extract 2% + 1% of sugar (B2S1) was able to maintain chrysanthemum cut flowers during storage with maintaining flower vase life up to 17.80 days. Keywords: Chrysanthemum, soaking solution, vase life

Abstract

ABSTRACT  Palm oil (Elaeis guineensis) is one of the agricultural biomass. Palm oil solid waste that is relatively easy to find is empty fruit bunches (EFB). EFB biomass is converted into pellets to get a uniform size, then heated through torrefaction into bioenergy so that its utilization is more optimal and can increase economic value. Torrefaction is slow heating of biomass with a temperature range of 200oC-300oC with a state of little oxygen or without oxygen. Torrefaction was carried out using an electric furnace with a target temperature of 280oC and a duration of 20 minutes. The purpose of this paper is to determine the effect of torrefaction on the chemical properties of EFB pellets. The results of this study are hemicellulose and cellulose decreased by 0,58% - 0,77%, this happens because hemicellulose and cellulose are degraded with increasing temperature and time of torrefaction. This is confirmed by changes in the line spectrum for FT-IR analysis where C-O, C=C, C-H, and O-H experience changes in the line spectrum that indicate changes in chemical composition. while lignin increased after torrefaction by 2,71%. Water content in EFB pellets decreased by 0,65%, while EFB pellets without treatment (control) by 14,95% after torrefaction became 22,70%. The volatile content of EFB control pellets was 69,55% after torrefaction to 61,21% so that the fixed carbon content of EFB control pellets was 10,03% and EFB pellets after torrefaction became 14,23%. The heat value of EFB pellets before torrefaction is 15,82 MJ/kg, and after torrefaction, the heating value increases to 18,28 MJ/kg so that it reaches the standard requirements of SNI 8675: 2018 as biomass pellets. Torrefaction pellets from EFB can provide a large increase in the quality of the bioenergy chemical properties. Biomass torrefaction is very suitable for combustion in power plants and home industries. Keywords:Chemical composition, FTIR,oil palm empty fruit bunches, torrefaction ABSTRAK Kelapa sawit (Elaeis guineensis) merupakan salah satu biomassa hasil pertanian. Limbah padat perkebunan sawit yang relatif mudah dijumpai ialah tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS). Biomassa TKKS dikonversikan menjadi pelet untuk mendapatkan ukuran yang seragam, kemudian ditorefaksi untuk digunakan sebagai bioenergi sehingga pemanfaatannya lebih optimal dan dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi. Torefaksi merupakan pemanasan biomassa secara perlahan dengan kisaran suhu 200oC – 300oC dengan keadaan sedikit oksigen bahkan tanpa oksigen. Torefaksi dilakukan menggunakan electric furnace dengan target suhu 280oC dan durasi selama 20 menit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh torefaksi terhadap sifat kimia pelet TKKS. Hasil dari penelitian ini ialah kadar hemiselulosa dan selulosa menurun sebesar 0,58% - 0,77% hal tersebut terjadi karena hemiselulosa dan selulosa terdegradasi seiring dengan peningkatan suhu dan waktu torefaksi. Hal tersebut diperkuat dengan perubahan gugus fungsi terhadap analisis FT-IR dimana gugus C-O, C=C, C-H, dan O-H mengalami perubahan spektrum garis pita yang menandakan adanya perubahan komposisi kimia. Sedangkan kadar lignin meningkat setelah torefaksi sebesar 2,71%. Kadar air pada pelet TKKS menurun sebesar 0,65 %, sedangkan abu pelet TKKS tanpa perlakuan (kontrol) sebesar 14,95% setelah tertorefaksi menjadi 22,70. Zat terbang pelet TKKS kontrol sebesar 69,55% setelah tertorefaksi menjadi 61,21% sehingga diperoleh nilai karbon terikat pelet TKKS kontrol sebesar 10,03% dan pelet TKKS yang tertorefaksi sebesar 14,23%. Nilai kalor pelet TKKS sebelum torefaksi sebesar 15,82 MJ/kg, dan setelah torefaksi nilai kalor meningkat menjadi 18,28 MJ/kg sehingga memenuhi SNI 8675:2018 pelet biomassa. Pelet TKKS yang tertorefaksi dapat memberikan peningkatan besar dalam kualitas sifat kimia bioenergi. Biomassa yang tortorefaksi sangat cocok untuk pembakaran di pembangkit listrik dan industri.  Kata Kunci:  FTIR,komposisi kimia,tandan kosong kelapa sawit, torefaksi

Abstract

Talas Sumedang (semir) merupakan salah satu komoditas pertanian hortikultura unggulan dan bahan pangan potensial di Kabupaten Sumedang. Namun, saat ini pemanfaatannya masih terbatas. Untuk menjadikannya sebagai bahan baku olahan pangan, maka talas harus dijadikan tepung terlebih dahulu, sehingga lebih tahan lama dan dapat dibuat menjadi aneka produk olahan pangan. Proses pengolahan talas menjadi tepung ada tahapan penting yang harus dilalui yaitu proses pengupasan. Proses pengupasana secara manual memerlukan waktu yang cukup lama serta membutuhkan tenaga kerja yang cukup banyak. Hal ini menjadi kendala apabila kapasitas produksi sudah besar serta berlanjutan (kontinyu). Dengan demikian dibutuhkan peran mekanisasi pertanian untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut yaitu dengan dirancang bangun mesin pengupas talas.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang bangun mesin pengupas talas talas untuk proses pascapanen dan menjadikannya sebagai bahan pangan alternatif potensial. Penelitian akan dilaksanakan pada bulan April - November 2016 bertempat di Bengkel Logam, Kayu dan Rotan, Laboratorium Alat dan Mesin Pertanian, Departemen Teknik Pertanian dan Biosistem, Fakultas Teknologi Industri Pertanian UNPAD, Jatinangor.Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa mesin bekerja dengan baik dengan kapasitas aktual 78,8 kg/jam, efisensi mesin 78,74%  dan hasil kupasan sudah merata pada semua pemukaan talas namun masih belum bersih karena proses pengupasan belum disertai penyiraman menggunakan air.

Abstract

Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus Ostreatus), such as white mushroom, chinese  mushroom, and warm mushroom, is one type of edible mushrooms. Oyster mushroom cultivation is usually done at the mushroom house (kumbung) which is mostly made of  bamboo.  Oyster mushrooms can grow optimally by controlling the temperature and humidity in the kumbung. Kumbung environment conditioning is usually done manually by spraying water on the planting medium every 8 hours.  But this is perceived as ineffective and requires high effort. For this reason, we need a technology that can monitor as well as control the environmental conditions inside the kumbung automatically and remotely. This paper describes the design of a system to monitor and control the temperature and humidity in the kumbung for oyster mushroom cultivation based on IoT (Internet of Things). This system is developed consisting of five parts, i.e sensor modules, microcontrollers, data loggers, actuators, and monitoring and control interfaces. The main result of this study is a remote monitoring and control of environmental conditions for oyster mushroom cultivation. The data of monitoring, in the form of temperature and humidity, are saved to the data logger and can be downloaded in the format (.csv). The system works functionally in accordance with the expected specifications, both in terms of sensor readings and actuator controlling.

Abstract

Rainfall data is the main parameter in flood analysis. The limited number of climate stations and rain stations in Manokwari due to low spatial representativeness of rainfall. This study aims to utilize Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) as a satellite-based rainfall observer to analyze and floods hazard mapping in Manokwari. The method used in this research is landscape analysis. Research showed that almost all areas in Manokwari had high levels of flood hazard at any period except Tanah Rubuh district.
