Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. This Journal is published four times a year, February, May, August, and November.

Abstract

This research aimed to find out the productivity of hybrid rice and non-hybrid rice, factors affecting hybrid rice and non-hybrid rice production, the value or R/C and B/C ratio, and farm income difference between hybrid and non-hybrid rice.  This research was taken place purposively in Pujo Asri Village of Trimurjo Sub District for this village had sufficiently high rice productivity compared to other villages.  The samples of 60 respondents were drawn by simple random sampling technique, they were 30 hybrid and 30 non-hybrid rice farmers.  The data was analyzed statistically by Cobb-Douglas production function model, income analysis and income difference test.  The results of research showed that the mean productivity of Mapan 05 variety-hybrid rice was 15.02 ton/ha per year, and that of Ciherang variety-non hybrid rice was 13.36 ton/ha per year.  The affecting factors on hybrid rice production were land width (X1), labor (X2), and application level of panca usaha tani (five principles of agribusiness) (X3), while the factors affecting the non-hybrid rice production were land width (X1), and labor (X2).  The value of R/C ratio on hybrid rice farming was 1.55 and the non-hybrid rice was 1.56.  The B/C ratio was 0.48 in wet season and 0.44 in gadu season (transition from wet to dry).  The mean income of twice farming seasons per year of hybrid rice was IDR24,809,205.33 and that of non-hybrid rice was IDR23,001,337.25.  The result of different test analysis shows that there was no significant difference between the average income of hybrid and non-hybrid rice farming on 95 percent confidence level.Key words: farming income, hybrid rice, non-hybrid rice, productivity

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze the economic feasibility of cocoa farming and market of cocoa.  This research is conducted in two cocoa production centers of South Lampung Regency, Merbau Mataram and Way Panji sub districts.  This research is conducted by survey method.  The first goal is analyzed by investment criteria and sensitivity rate. The second goal is analyzed by marketing chain, market structure and marketing margins.  The research results showed that at 16.31% of interest rate, the 20 years lenght of intensive cultivation of cocoa farming in South Lampung Regency deserved NPV of Rp54,631,300.84; IRR 45.66%, Net B/C Ratio 8.20; Gross B/C 1.84 and PP 5.42.  The changes were the production cost increase of 6.51%, the production quantity decrease of 6.74% and the production price decrease of 18.85%, but the farm was still in the state of intensive cocoa feasible and profitable.  There are two marketing chain in South Lampung Regency, the market structure was oligopsonistic market with the distribution of ratio profit margin (RPM) was uneven.Key words: cocoa, economic, feasible, marketing

Abstract

The purpose of this research are to: study realization of treaty in beef cattle fattening, study the procurement process of raw materials to meet the six precise (on time, exact place, quality, quantity, type, and price), analyze profits of beef cattle fattening, study the marketing channels of beef cattle fattening, study the supporting services’s role to beef cattle fattening. This research is a case study at Gunung Madu Cooperation in Gunung Batin Baru Village, Terusan Nunyai Sub District, Central Lampung Regency that is choosen on purpose with consideration that Gunung Madu Cooperation partnershiped with PT Indo Prima Beef about one year. The data collected in December 2016 and analyzed by a qualitative descriptive analysis and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of research showed that the realization of treaty between Gunung Madu Cooperation and PT Indo Prima Beef have a good realization until three period. The raw materials procurement of beef cattle fattening met the component of six precise. Beef cattle fattening in Gunung Madu Cooperation was viable because its R/C ratio value was greater than one in one to three periods. The marketing channels of beef cattle fattening were precised because involving the intitutional agency. All supporting services were utilized by beef cattle fattening Gunung Madu Cooperation namely extension services, transportations, government policies, information and communication technnology give positive role.Key words: agribusiness system, beef cattle, cooperation, partnership

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the implementation race of achievement BP3K in Lampung Province, scores and aspects of the North Raman BP3K in 2015, and  the income of farmers assisted by The North Raman BP3K East Lampung Regency.  This research was conducted in North Raman Subdistrict East Lampung District. Respondents of this research  were 53 peoples, that consist of 10 agricultural extension workers who were selected by purposive sampling method and 43 farmers who were selected by simple random sampling. Implementation race of achievement BP3K in Lampung Province was analyzed descriptively. The result of this research showed that achievement BP3K votes in Lampung Province in 2015 conducted by the method of selection requirements, administrative, and field observations. Aspects of assessment were analyzed descriptively using tabulation.  Aspects of assesment  includes: facility, infrastructure, human resources, operational management, and activities.  The five aspects were scored between 2 to 861.  The result of research on The North Raman BP3K provisionally got a score of 783 points, and include the category successfully.  Assisted farmers income increased by 3.9 percent a  year before and after The North Raman being achivement BP3K.Key words: assisted, achievements, BP3K

Abstract

This research aimed to assess the income, the risk of farming, and the correlation risk toward income of ginger farming.  This research was conducted by survey method, involving 60 farmer respondents with four years farming experiences.  The data of this research was collected in Juni – Juli 2016.  The third objective was analyzed by multiple linear regression and the other analysis used in this research was descriptive and quantitative analysis.  The results showed that the income of ginger farming was Rp28,038,043.74/ha and the value of R/C on total cost 1.68. The risk of ginger farming was on high category in which CV value was 0.51.  The risk of ginger farming had significantly influence the income.Key words: ginger, income, production, risk

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of raskin (poor rice) policy toward household expenditurepattern and household response toward the policy of Raskin food card replacement in Bandar Lampung City. The numbers of respondents in this research were 137 respondents that were determined by accidental sampling method. The data was analyzed by descriptive analysis, different test and cross tabulation. The results showed that there was reduction of household expenditure burden for grainafter receiving Raskin subsidy that was equal to 4.69 percent. There was consumption escalation of vegetable protein sources (1%), animal protein sources (2.22%) and fruit (1%) of households in Bandar Lampung City after receiving Raskin subsidy. Household non-food expenditures, such as household needs, clothing, housing and telecommunications were increased by less than 1 percent. The factors that affected household responses in Bandar Lampung City to food card policy was the number of dependents and income, while the age and education of respondents did not affect the response of households in Bandar Lampung to Raskin card policy.Key words: expenditure pattern, food card, raskin

Abstract

This research aims to determine the performance of agricultural extension worker in perfoming their main tasks and to know the factors that related with agricultural extension worker performance in implementing the main tasks on BP3K Banjar Baru Sub District.  This research is conducted by survey method in which location is selected purposively in Banjar Baru Sub District.  Respondents in this research are seven agricultural extension worker and 75 farmers.  The data is collected from January until February 2017 and analyzed by descriptive analysis and non-parametric statistics correlation Rank Spearman test for hypothesis verification.  The results of Hypothesis test showed that factors which related to agricultural extension worker’s performance were agricultural extension worker motivation level, income, and working facilities, whereas the factors that did not relate to performance of agricultural extension worker in implementing main tasks were total of their farmers target, reward system, and the distance of residence to the farmers target area (working area).  The result of this research showed that generally the performance of agricultural extension worker in implementing the main tasks of agricultural extension worker in BP3K Banjar Baru Sub District were in middle classification.Key words: agricultural extension worker, main tasks, performance

Abstract

This research aimed to study the owners understanding of marketing strategy of tapioca vermicelli, analyze the implementation of marketing strategy that has been done, and know the accessibility of consumers to obtain tapioca vermicelli.  This research used a case study method at Sinar Harapan (SH) and Bintang Obor (BO) Agroindustries. Respondents were the owners of agroindustries, distributors, and consumers of tapioca vermicelli.  Research data was analyzed by a descriptive statistical analysis (level of understanding through an all-round management approach and accessibility of consumers) and qualitative descriptive (the realization of marketing strategy that has been done).  The results showed that tapioca vermicelli’s producers at Metro City were quite understood the marketing strategy, but their implementation were not in accordance with their understanding.  The owner of BO considered more understood the importance of marketing strategy compared to the owner of SH.  The implementation of marketing strategy by SH and BO producers were almost the same.  The difference of these two agroindustries were that the BO implemented the price reserve strategy while SH did not.  Accessibility of consumers to obtained tapioca vermicelli was easy.Key words: accessibility, marketing strategy, tapioca vermicelli

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the production performance and Agroindustry development strategy of coffee powder in Bandar Lampung City.  This research is a case study in a coffee powder agroindustry namely Sinar Baru Cap Bola Dunia.  Respodents are the owner and employees of the agroindustry.  Research data is analyzed by quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis (analysis of production performance) and descriptive qualitative analysis (SWOT).  The results showed that the performance of Sinar Baru Cap Bola Dunia Agroindustry in overall was not in good category.  The main priority strategy for developing the agroindustry were (a) utilizing the human resources’ skills to increase production utilizing modern technology, (b) utilizing the human resources’ skills to increase production and government support for increasing sales through exhibitions conducted by department of cooperatives, industry, and trade, (c) utilizing the location near to the sales location there by reducing distribution costs and facilitating the marketing of products to meet the increasing demands of the population, (d) collaborating with the government to facilitate information access related to the agroindustry and promotion abroad, especially to introduce the product in Southeast Asia market through cyberspace or overseas exhibition activities, (e) producing a quality product according to consumers’ tastes for consumers to re-purchase so that it could be competetive to similar competitors.Key words: coffee powder, development strategy, production performance
