Abstract

Background: Maternal health has become one barometer of achievement of a country, especially developing countries like Indonesia. AKI Indonesia is 359 per 100,000 live births, not in accordance with MDGs target in 2015 that is 102 deaths per 100,000 live births. One of the causes of high AKI is because mothers do not utilize Antenatal Care (ANC) visit. Antenatal Care (ANC) is a professional health service (doctors specialist, general practitioner, midwife, and nurse) for the mother during her pregnancy in accordance with antenatal care standards. Objective: The purpose of this research is to know factors related to maternity compliance in performing pregnancy examination and to correlate each factor with the compliance. Methods: Sample of this quantitative study was mother who experienced pregnancy and has child younger than 3 year old living in Sidorejo village. 30 samples were recruited and then asked to fill in questionnaire. The data were analysed by using Correlation Spearman. Results: Very weak relationship between 7 maternal attributes with their obedience regarding examination of pregnancy found in this study namely   age 0.030, employment 0.067, health insurance ownership 0.089, parity 0.017, history of pregnancy examination 0.019, Family support 0.083, and culture -0.098, while incomes 0.247 and knowledge 0.222 attributes indicate weak relationship level. Abstract

Background: Patient satisfaction in palliative care is an important dimension that can describe a patient’s experience acceptable of care. Patient satisfaction is used to evaluate performance and improve the quality of palliative care. Objective: This study aimed to know the description of patient satisfaction of palliative cancer against palliative care which has been given in IRNA I RSUP Dr.Sardjito Yogyakarta based on a ranking that includes 5 subscales of satisfaction in palliative care. Method: Type of research was mixed methods with sequential explanatory design, collecting data began from collecting quantitative data and followed by collecting qualitative data. Subject of study involved cancer patient in Central Hospital of Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta during September and October 2016 number of respondent was 48 patients and 8 participants. Sampling technique in quantitative research used purposive sampling, while the qualitative research used the techniques sampling criterion. Instrument used FAMCARE-P to measure satisfaction and the interview based on interview guideline. Quantitative data analysis used descriptive analysis and analysis of qualitative data used the content analysis. Integration of the results of quantitative research and qualitative used the joint displays. Results: Cancer patients have a high satisfaction on the subscale of support in decision-making with a mean (4,60±0,49), followed by a subscale of symptom management (3,96±0,42), communication and information (3,93±0,35), coordination and consistency (3,8±0,38) and accessibility (3,7±0,44). Qualitative research gained eight categories. Conclusion: Cancer patient satisfaction on palliative care was high with score on every subscales above mean score.   Keyword: Satisfaction, Cancer Patient, Mixed Method, Palliative Care

Abstract

Background: Early initiation of breastfeeding can reduce the infants mortality under the age of 28 days and can affect exclusive breastfeeding process (Roesli, 2010). In early initiation of breastfeeding and exclusive breastfeeding, there is disparities of each health center in Bantul district. Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the association between maternal education, maternal occupation, place of childbirth, birth attendant, and health provider’s support with early initiation of breastfeeding. Methods: The study was conducted from March 23 to April 13, 2014, used crossectional design. Subjects were the entire breastfeeding mothers with infants aged 6-8 months who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria (204 samples). Sampling with consecutive tecnique. Data obtained from secondary data and questionnaires. Data Analysis with SPSS using Chi-square test. Results: In bivariate analysis, there was no statistically and clinically significant association between maternal education with early initiation of breastfeeding p=0.882; OR=0.9; 95% CI=0.44 to 2.03, maternal occupation  p=0.463 : OR=1.3 : 95% CI=0.65 to 2.59 , and birth attendant p=0.211 : OR=4.8 : 95% CI=3.69 to 6.33. Other factors that have a statistically and clinically significant association with early initiation of breastfeeding is the place of childbitrh p=0.007 OR=16.4; 95% CI=1.78 to 150.96 and health provider’s supports p=0.001 : OR=4.4 : 95% CI=2.03 to 9.68. Conclusions and suggestions: There is statistically and clinically significant association between place of childbirth and health provider’s supports with early initiation of breastfeeding. Further research is expected involving the variable support of her husband/family with a prospective cohort to examine the association between early initiation of breastfeeding with exclusive breastfeeding. Abstract

Background:In Indonesia about 15% of adolescents aged 10-24 years have been having sex outside of marriage. Indonesian teenagers today are more tolerant of premarital sexual lifestyle. This is evident from the research results of various institutions in Indonesia during the period 1993-2002, found that 5-10% of women and 18-38% of young men aged 16-24 years have had premarital sexual relations with their age partner. Other research results Also said that the cause of premarital sexual behavior in adolescents because of knowledge about reproductive health. Knowledge of reproductive health is considered taboo to be discussed. This is precisely pushing the knowledge of adolescent to sexual becomes more. Objective: Knowing the description of Akper students who have engaged in sexual behavior influenced by knowledge of reproductive health . Methods: This type of research is an observational study using cross sectional study design. Results: Students who have high reproductive health knowledge are more than 65.9% in mild prenatal sexual behavior. Students with low level of knowledge have a chance of having a mild pre-marital behavior 2 times higher than students with high knowledgeof reproductive health. From the results of bivariable analysis, both variable a significant relationship with premarital sexual behavior with a value of p <0.05 Conclusion; Akper students who have premarital sexual behavior are 69.9%. They tend to engage in premarital sexual behavior then have a low reproductive health risk. Category of premarital sexual behavior includes holding hands, hugging, kissing dry (kissing the cheeks or forehead) and kissing wet (kissing the lips). Premarital sexual behavior is caused by high knowledge of reproductive health. Keyword: premarital sexual behavior and knowledge of reproductive health

Abstract

Background: Asian countries face disasters annually. Increasing vulnerability of people in Asia, especially related to demography, social and economic change technology fastly. Any person affected by disasters, with the expected first priority is to get help meeting basic needs and either given by the general public or trained personnel such as Search and Rescue. SAR must have a variety of skills such as skills in giving Basic Life Support also Vertical Rescue. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of VR training to increase skills and Rescue.   Methods: The type and design of the study were selected by the researchers was an experiment quasi with cross sectional approach. Variable measurement skills performed before and after the implementation of training and analyzed using Paired t test. Results: No effect of VR training to increase knowledge (p = 0.09), there was the effect of VR training on the improvement of the attitude (p = 0.00) and there was increased influence of VR on skill improvement (p = 0.00). Conclusion: There was the effect of VR training to increase attitude and skills of rescue in helping victims of the disaster. Keywords: training, VR, skills, sAR

Abstract

Background: Indonesia still experiences various health and nutrient problem. On susceptible group of mother and child, the high rate of short toddler prevalence  which is 37.2% becomes one of national development priorities. It is included in the main objective of intermediate development year 2015-2019. They village of Wunung highest stunting prevalency in Yogyakarta. Amount of research show binding between stunting with motorist development and toddler's mental. Objective: To find out the development picture on stunting toddler In Wunung Village In The Work Region Of Wonosari I Primary Health Center Gunungkidul Yogyakarta. Research method: This research is in the form of descriptive-quantitative research. This research used non random sampling, purposive, method with 45 samples. Result: The result of the research is not in accordance with the theory which suggests that the stunting affects the toddler development. It is because development has many factors. One of them is psycho-social factor which includes stimulant, learning motivation and peer group. In Addition 60% of average 36 months toddler have been sent to pre school in which they get stimulant, learning motivation and peer group. Conclusion: The result of the research shows that most stunting toddlers; 32 toddlers (71.1%); have normal development. 12 toddlers (26.75%) have dubious development while 1 toddler (2.2%) has deviate development. Abstract

Background: Batik is the one of the Indonesian’s heritage which uses color barrier technique in which wax is used as a tool to draw the design applied on the surface of a cloth. Batik artisan is one of the occouptions that requires the use of chemical subtances such as wax and dye. Since they are often exposed by chemical subtances, they may have skin problem. Thetefore, hand washing behavior becomes one of preventive action for skin and digestive problems. Objective: To identified the correlation between knowledge level and hand washing behavior in the work environment of batik artisans in Sembungan, Gulurejo, Lendah, Kulon Progo. Methods: This study was a quantitative research using correlative design study and using cross sectional approach. Total sampling was used to collect 30 respondents. The result was analyzed using Gamma with the level of significancy p<0,05. Results: The result of the study showed majority of the level of knowledge on hand washing was high level for 70% and 53,3% respondents have a good behavior on hand washing. The result of statistical test showed p-value 0.016<0.05with correlation coeficient  0.674 which had a strong correlation. Conclusion: There was a corelation between knowledge level on hand washing and hand washing behavior in work environment of batik artsisans in Sembungan, Gulurejo, Lendah, Kulon Progo. Abstract

Background:There are still many incidents of school-age illness (6-14 years) that occur repeatedly over time because the child has not realized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle for himself. Bad behavior habits in children will have an impact on efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Objective: To know the perception of children about their health and healthy life behavior that can be done, so as to prevent the incidence of recurrent illness that is often suffered by school-aged children, and become the impetus to make healthy lifestyles include children's perception of disease, behavior, and knowledge on health . Methods: Qualitative research with primary data collection techniques and secondary data. Respondents were 23 students of grade IV and V elementary school in Boyolali Regency who were chosen by purposive sampling according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Types of diseases that are often suffered by the respondents are disturbances of the digestive system, respiratory, urinary, and nervous system. Habitual things that are still done by respondents are buying unclean and unhealthy foods. Most of the respondents are still doing some physical movement activities done at school and at home by doing sports.Conclusions: The respondents are able to identify some of the diseases that have been experienced and the cause of the disease he suffered. The respondents are also able to explain the understanding of health and efforts to maintain health according to the knowledge they have, and be able to mention the criteria of healthy food, explain the behavior of clean living to be done, and apply the pattern of adequate rest. Abstract

Latar belakang: Penyakit kardiovascular merupakan faktor risiko penyebab kematian dari penyakit tidak menular. Prevalensi hipertensi meningkat dalam 10 tahun terakhir dan diprediksi akan terus meningkat sampai tahun 2030. Penatalaksanaan hipertensi yang efektif merupakan kunci keberhasilan terapi. Kemampuan pengelolaan kesehatan klien secara optimal memerlukan pemahaman dan kesadaran individu yang tinggi yang dapat diperoleh melalui pendidikan kesehatan. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat dampak pendidikan kesehatan pada pengelolaan hipertensi meliputi domain kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan quasi-experimental dengan melibatkan 40 responden yang terbagi menjadi kelompok intervensi (20 responden) dan kelompok kontrol (20 responden). Hasil: Mayoritas responden berjenis kelamin laki-laki (62.5%), berada pada rentang usia 55-64 (50%), tingkat pendidikan menengah (47.5%), bukan perokok (55%), tidak melakukan diet (62.5%), dan mempunyai kemampuan koping adaptif (80%). Setelah dilakukan intervensi selama 4 minggu, didapatkan perbedaan yang signifikan pada domain kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotor sebelum dengan sesudah intervensi (p=0.002; p=0.012; p=0.001). Dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol, ditemukan perbedaan signifikan pada domain kognitif dan psikomotor (p=0.028; p=0.013). Karakteristik responden yang berpengaruh pada variabel dependen antara lain tingkat pendidikan, status merokok, latihan fisik, dan mekanisme koping. Simpulan: Disipulkan bahwa pendidikan kesehatan merupakan intervensi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pengelolaan lansia dengan hipertensi khsuusnya pada domain kognitif dan psikomotor.  Kata Kunci : pendidikan, hipertensi, kognitif, afektif, psikomotor

Abstract

Background: Surgery is a major stressor for most patients. Preoperative anxiety determines the success or failure of surgery and recovery, as well as postoperative anxiety. The role of the nurses are very important in assessing the patient's anxiety. The giving of information about surgery and post-surgery manajemen are needed the patients. Objective: The aims of this study is to determine the level of patients anxiety before and after surgery Methodes:This research is non experimental with cross sectional design. The population is all patients undergoing surgery, with a sample of 80 patients by accidental sampling. The instrument is HARS (Halmington Anxiety Rating Scala). Data collection on April 2015. Beginning with inform concent and then giving quisioner to patients. The questionnaires were administered before surgery and after the patients had surgery. Univariate analysis and paired t test are the analysis used. Results: Middle anxiety levels before surgery are 45% to 25% after surgery. Mild anxiety levels before surgery are 34% to 10% after surgery. While the respondents who did not anxiety before surgery are 10% to 61,25% after surgery. Conclusion: There was a significant difference in the patients anxiety levels before and after surgery with p = 0,00. Keywords : Anxiety, surgery, role of the nurses
