Abbreviation is also used in various communities, for example the musical Touken Ranbu Fans Community called 刀ミュ実況・乾燥語り場 (Toumyu Jikkyou/Kansou gatari ba) or Touken Ranbu Musical Live Commentary Forum. This research aims to find the forms of abbreviations used in the community, then classify and describe them. This research also aims to classify the forms of abbreviation that appear based on the type of 名詞 (meishi, "noun") and the origin of the language that formed them. Methods used in this research are qualitative method and close reading technique. The results of the research show that there are 21 abbreviation data which are divided into 13 acronyms and 8 clippings. Abstract

This study is intended to determine how the embodiment of the value of on, gimu, and giri in the characters Frieren and Heiter in the anime Sousou no Frieren by Kanehito Yamada. The author uses descriptive qualitative method. This research design uses literary anthropology, which leads to literary text research that examines literary reflections as cultural reflections.  The data source was taken from Muse Indonesia's Youtube channel video entitled "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" on episode 1-2. Frieren receives more on, giri, and gimu than Heiter because Frieren does not understand the concept of gratitude. She has a cold personality and lacks the ability to understand how quickly time passes for humans. After understanding the concept, Frieren tried to repay the debt of gratitude she had not been able to do. Frieren is able to pay his debt or giri in a timely manner. Heiter understood the concept of on so he did not carry as much of the burden of the values of on, giri and gimu as Frieren. Frieren and Heiter both carried the gimu ko to Himmel. Heiter managed to complete his gimu because he really took care of Fern until the end of his life. Frieren, on the other hand, had done her gimu and continued her gimu as part of her life principles. It can be concluded through this anime, Japan still maintains the moral concepts of on, giri and gimu.

Abstract

This study aims to explore traditional roles in "wanope ikuji" or single-operation childcare in Japan, shaped by the dominant patriarchal structure. Using a qualitative approach with a literature analysis method, the primary source of this study includes an exclusive interview conducted by Abema News on June 11, 2024, involving three mothers in Japan. The findings reveal that the patriarchal cultural system remains deeply entrenched in Japan. Key evidence includes the difficulty Japanese mothers face in seeking employment opportunities after childbirth and childcare. For working mothers, balancing childcare responsibilities and professional duties is extremely challenging. Conversely, Japanese men encounter structural barriers, such as societal norms that informally discourage them from taking parental leave. This indicates that traditional childcare patterns, emphasizing the mother as the primary caregiver, remain strongly embedded. To address the tensions between gender equality and traditional childcare roles, Japanese society must adapt to new realities. Measures that can be taken include raising awareness and education about gender equality within households, developing family-friendly work policies that support work-life balance, and shifting social norms to recognize and encourage the active role of fathers in childcare. By implementing these measures, Japan can foster an environment that better supports gender equality and a fairer division of childcare responsibilities.

Abstract

This article exposes crucial points of negotiated understandings between two characters in Japanese flash fiction entitled Two Frogs. The story tells about the different dreams between two frogs that have plans to reach their destination to see another town. This folktale wants to tell the readers about the similarities between Kyoto and Osaka. Through qualitative method, this research underlines that, in fact, Kyoto is more traditional than Osaka, but later the characters reach such understandings than flourishing the conflicts. Any difference should be negotiated so that it never comes into bigger conflict. Negotiated understanding then could not be separated from such reciprocal cultural appreciations as well. In conclusion, the description, interpretation, and narration of the story explores indications of moral messages of negotiated understandings. It is simply taken as a token of peace that should always be gained rather than unworthy loss due to upcoming frictions between assumptions and interpretations of the characters.

Abstract

Kandoushi or interjection is part of the Japanese word class or 品詞分類 (hinshi bunrui) which functions to express emotions or feelings, such as surprise, happiness, admiration, doubt, and so on.
