Abstract

The education sector, a crucial component of the service industry, faced significant challenges in improving operational optimization, particularly in administrative processes. Managing grades and preparing report cards often presented a substantial workload for educators, especially in SMA Santa Patricia. This study aimed to develop an integrated web-based e-Report system to optimize operations by addressing ineffectiveness, inefficiencies, and human error. The system was developed using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework with a prototyping model. Usability testing through the Computer System Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ) demonstrated improvements, including a 12% increase in effectiveness and an 8% enhancement in efficiency. Additionally, paired T-test results revealed notable gains in system usefulness (14%), information quality (13%), interface quality (14%), and overall system performance (13%) compared to the previous Microsoft Excel-based system. These results underscore the critical role of integrated systems in streamlining operations within the service industry. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Sektor pendidikan, sebagai bagian penting dari industri jasa, menghadapi tantangan besar dalam mengoptimalkan operasional, khususnya dalam proses administrasi. Pengelolaan nilai dan penyusunan rapor sering kali menjadi beban kerja yang cukup besar bagi para pendidik, terutama di SMA Santa Patricia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sistem e-Rapor berbasis web yang terintegrasi guna mengoptimalkan operasional dengan mengatasi ketidakefisienan, ketidakefektifan, dan kesalahan manusia. Sistem ini dikembangkan menggunakan kerangka kerja System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) dengan model prototyping. Uji kegunaan yang dilakukan melalui Computer System Usability Questionnaire (CSUQ) menunjukkan adanya peningkatan, termasuk peningkatan efektivitas sebesar 12% dan efisiensi sebesar 8%. Selain itu, hasil paired T-test mengungkapkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kegunaan sistem (14%), kualitas informasi (13%), kualitas antarmuka (14%), dan kinerja sistem secara keseluruhan (13%) dibandingkan dengan sistem sebelumnya yang berbasis Microsoft Excel. Hasil ini menegaskan peran penting sistem terintegrasi dalam menyederhanakan operasional di sektor jasa.

Abstract

Probiotics are a group of bacteria with health benefits, which are widely used in various nutritional products. Various efforts are made to effectively increase growth of probiotics, including adding supplemental nutrition, such as protein. In this study, a series of tests were conducted (optical density, colony forming unit, and pH test) to evaluate the effect of collagen hydrolysate supplementation, obtained from tuna waste, on the growth of Bacillus subtilis G8, a candidate of probiotic bacteria which have been isolated from the Japanese traditional food natto. The results demonstrated positive impacts of collagen hydrolysate supplementation on cell density and colony-forming units, as well as on the reduction of pH of bacterial growth medium. Concentration of 5% was observed as the most optimum concentration to support the bacterial growth, while the most acidic pH of bacterial growth medium is observed at 3% supplementation. In conclusion, supplementation of collagen hydrolysate derived from tuna waste supported the growth of B. subtilis G8 as well as reduced the pH of its growth media. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Probiotik merupakan sekelompok bakteri yang memiliki manfaat kesehatan dan banyak digunakan dalam berbagai produk nutrisi. Beragam upaya telah dilakukan untuk secara efektif meningkatkan pertumbuhan probiotik, salah satunya melalui penambahan nutrisi tambahan seperti protein. Dalam penelitian ini, serangkaian uji dilakukan, meliputi uji kerapatan optik, unit pembentuk koloni (CFU), dan pengukuran pH, untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi kolagen hidrolisat yang diperoleh dari limbah ikan tuna terhadap pertumbuhan Bacillus subtilis G8, yakni kandidat bakteri probiotik yang diisolasi dari makanan tradisional Jepang, natto. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi kolagen hidrolisat memberikan dampak positif terhadap kerapatan sel dan jumlah koloni, serta menyebabkan penurunan pH medium pertumbuhan bakteri. Konsentrasi 5% diketahui sebagai konsentrasi yang paling optimal dalam mendukung pertumbuhan bakteri, sedangkan pH terendah pada medium pertumbuhan tercatat pada konsentrasi suplementasi sebesar 3%. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi kolagen hidrolisat yang berasal dari limbah ikan tuna mampu mendukung pertumbuhan B. subtilis G8 serta menurunkan pH media pertumbuhannya.

Abstract

This study analyzes the prestress loss in the girder of Bridge Y using a post-tensioning system. Prestress loss is influenced by six factors: elastic shortening of concrete, friction, anchor slip, shrinkage, creep, and tendon relaxation. For K-500 grade concrete with a curved tendon eccentricity of 4.756 degrees (0.8320 m) and a web width of 0.2000 meters, the minimum prestress loss was 21.35%. Modifying the tendon configuration to straight reduced the loss to 18.86%. K-600 grade concrete resulted in smaller losses: 20.17% for curved tendons and 17.67% for straight tendons. Similar patterns were observed with a web width of 0.3000 meters. However, although straight tendon configurations yielded lower total prestress loss, the compressive stress during force transfer exceeded the permissible stress. Therefore, the curved tendon configuration is more suitable for designing prestressed concrete bridge girders as it complies with permissible stress criteria. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Penelitian ini mengkaji kehilangan gaya prategang pada Girder Y Jembatan Y yang mengalami indikasi ketidakefisienan struktur akibat besarnya kehilangan gaya prategang pada sistem pascatarik yang digunakan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis besarnya kehilangan prategang serta pengaruh enam faktor utama, yaitu perpendekan elastis beton, gesekan, slip angkur, susut, rangkak, dan relaksasi tendon. Analisis dilakukan secara teknikal dengan memvariasikan beberapa parameter penting, seperti konfigurasi tendon (melengkung dan lurus), mutu beton (K-500 dan K-600), serta lebar badan girder (0,2000 m dan 0,3000 m). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa total kehilangan prategang berkisar antara 21.35% hingga 17.67%, dengan konfigurasi tendon melengkung cenderung mengalami kehilangan lebih besar. Namun, meskipun konfigurasi tendon lurus menghasilkan kehilangan yang lebih rendah, tegangan tekan saat transfer gaya melampaui batas izin. Oleh karena itu, konfigurasi tendon melengkung dinilai lebih sesuai untuk desain beton prategang pada Girder Y karena memenuhi kriteria batas tegangan yang diizinkan.

Abstract

The digital era has triggered a data explosion, demanding efficient data preprocessing capabilities. The R programming language, supported by a wide range of packages, offers effective solutions for preprocessing tasks, particularly in handling missing values. This study aims to demonstrate the practical and efficient use of R in improving the quality of predictive models and to provide a practical guide for academics and practitioners. The research adopts a descriptive-exploratory approach through a case study using R for data preprocessing. The stages include data collection, data cleaning and transformation, result visualization, optional predictive analysis, and systematic documentation as a practical guide. The data imputation process in R begins with analyzing variable correlations and distributions using scatter plot matrices and histograms, followed by selecting appropriate imputation methods such as linear regression, mean, or median. R facilitates this process through its comprehensive functions and visualization tools. As this study does not address all aspects of data preprocessing—particularly missing data handling—it is recommended that future research explore alternative imputation techniques such as k-nearest neighbors (kNN) and other preprocessing components. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Era digital menghasilkan ledakan data yang menuntut kemampuan preprocessing data yang efisien. Bahasa R, dengan berbagai paket pendukungnya, menawarkan solusi efektif untuk preprocessing, khususnya dalam penanganan missing values. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendemonstrasikan pemanfaatan R untuk meningkatkan kualitas model prediktif dan memberikan panduan praktis bagi akademisi serta praktisi.  Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif eksploratif dengan studi kasus menggunakan R untuk preprocessing data. Tahapannya meliputi pengumpulan data, pembersihan dan transformasi data, visualisasi hasil, serta dokumentasi langkah-langkah sebagai panduan praktis.  Pada penelitian ini dilakukan percobaan dengan membangun data simulasi, yang dihasilkan dari data besar yang sudah bersih, kemudian dibuat dibuat menjadi data yang tidak lengkap dengan memanfaatkan paket R messy. Proses imputasi data dengan R dimulai dari analisis korelasi dan distribusi variabel menggunakan scatter plot matrix dan histogram, memilih metode imputasi yang sesuai seperti regresi linear, rata-rata, atau median. R memudahkan proses ini lewat fungsi dan visualisasi yang lengkap.  Hasil evaluasi dilakukan dengan membandingkan bentuk sebaran data asli, dengan data simulasi yang telah dibersihkan.  Hasil yang diberikan menunjukkan bahwa kedua data memberikan bentuk sebaran yang tidak signifikan.

Abstract

This research was conducted to design and develop a cassava slicing tool for the UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) "Keripik Singkong Bu Supiah" located in Keranggan Village. The design and development process of this slicing tool was carried out using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach and a House of Quality (HOQ) matrix, which was employed to gather user needs (voice of the customer) and then further analyzed to generate HOWs (engineering characteristics). Additionally, a component planning matrix was created, resulting in three key components for the tool's development: the main frame, slicing mechanism, and slicing blade. The next step involved designing and constructing the cassava slicing tool based on user requirements. The developed cassava slicing device was constructed from iron and was equipped with three blades mounted on a rotating disc, which was operated manually using a hand crank. The device also features a container for placing the cassava, fitted with a spring mechanism that facilitates the movement of the cassava toward the blades. The testing results of the developed tool showed a 6.1% improvement in slicing time efficiency and a 0.54% increase in slicing yield. Moreover, the tool development helped minimize the risk of hand injuries from the blade and eliminated waste during the cassava slicing process. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk merancang dan mengembangkan alat pengiris singkong pada UMKM Keripik Singkong Bu Supiah yang terletak di Desa Keranggan. Proses perancangan dan pengembangan alat ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan Quality Function Deployment (QFD) yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan kebutuhan pengguna (voice of customers) yang kemudian akan dianalisis lebih lanjut untuk menghasilkan HOWs (engineering characteristics). Selain itu, terdapat matriks perencanaan komponen yang menghasilkan tiga komponen penting dalam pengembangan alat, yaitu kerangka utama, mekanisme pengirisan, dan pisau pengiris. Proses selanjutnya adalah perancangan dan pembuatan alat pengiris singkong berdasarkan kebutuhan pengguna. Alat pengiris singkong yang dikembangkan terbuat dari besi dengan 3 bilah pisau dipasang pada piringan dan dioperasikan menggunakan engkol yang diputar secara manual. Pada alat tersebut juga terdapat wadah tempat meletakkan singkong yang dilengkapi dengan pegas yang dapat mendorong singkong ke arah pisau. Hasil uji coba dari alat yang telah dikembangkan adalah terdapat peningkatan efisiensi sebesar 6,1% terhadap waktu pengirisan singkong dan peningkatan sebesar 0,54% terhadap hasil irisan singkong. Selain itu, pengembangan alat juga dapat meminimalkan resiko tangan tergores mata pisau dan menghilangkan waste yang terdapat dalam proses pengirisan singkong.

Abstract

Black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) is the most widely used shrimp in fisheries industries of Indonesia for export. This activity contribut to increase the amount of shrimp shell waste. Shrimp shell contains chitin at 15-20%. Chitin can be hydrolyzed using chitinase to produce N-acetylglucosamine. This research was conducted to determine profile of chitin fermentation yield from black tiger shrimp shell (Penaeus monodon) using Trichoderma virens. Chitin was made by demineralization and deproteination black tiger shrimp shell waste.  The production of fermentation yield was using solid substrate fermentation. Duration of fermentation process was 8 days, incubation temperature was 30 oC and pH 4. Based on the results of fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrophotometer and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) analysis, it can be seen that crude N-acetylglucosamine oligosaccharides can be produced as the result of chitin fermentation besides N-acetylglucosamine. It can be determined from the presence of C-O-C groups and the molecular weight (10949,6230) which is a derivative molecule of GlcNAc-2-Man-3-GlcNAc-Fuc-GlcNAc and can be classified as N-gylcans. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Udang windu (Penaeus monodon) merupakan jenis udang yang paling banyak diekspor oleh negara Indonesia. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam peningkatan jumlah limbah kulit udang. Di dalam kulit udang, terkandung 15-20% kitin. Kitin dapat dihidrolisis menggunakan enzim kitinase untuk menghasilkan N-asetilglukosamin. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui profil hasil fermentasi kitin dari kulit udang windu (Penaeus monodon) dengan kapang Trichoderma virens. Kitin dibuat dengan proses demineralisasi dan deproteinasi limbah kulit udang windu. Proses produksi hasil fermentasi kitin menggunakan proses fermentasi substrat padat. Proses fermentasi dilakukan selama 8 hari dengan suhu inkubasi 30 oC, and pH 4. Berdasarkan hasil analisis fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrophotometer dan liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) dapat diketahui bahwa selain dihasilkan N-asetilglukosamin dapat dihasilkan crude oligo N-asetilglukosamin merupakan hasil fermentasi kitin. Hal tersebut dapat diketahui dari adanya gugus C-O-C dan berat molekul (1094,6230) yang merupakan molekul turunan GlcNAc-2-Man-3-GlcNAc-Fuc-GlcNAc dan dapat digolongkan sebagai N-glikan.

Abstract

In the Industrial Revolution 4.0, continuous innovation is crucial for companies striving to achieve their vision and mission. One key initiative is implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). PT XYZ, however, encounters challenge due to its ongoing use of conventional, paper-based methods. These methods have numerous drawbacks, such as incomplete documentation of machine damage, outdated information caused by maintenance department oversights, extended data retrieval times, and the risk of document loss or damage. To overcome these issues, an innovative transition was made from a paper-dependent system to a digital, web-based platform to enhance TPM's effectiveness. Data was collected through direct field observation and processed using the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timebound) methodology to accurately identify problems and solutions. A web-based application named E-TPM was developed, utilizing the PHP programming language, the CodeIgniter framework, a MySQL database, and a straightforward, user-friendly interface designed with Bootstrap 5.0. This digital shift offers substantial benefits, including real-time management of machinery damage data, improving TPM monitoring efficiency. Digital data storage reduces the risk of falsification or loss, as information is centrally located. Moreover, E-TPM implementation has led to a significant reduction in paper costs, approximately Rp. 495,000 per year, due to the elimination of paper-based TPM tags that are prone to damage or loss. Finally, access to precise data and in-depth analysis enables management to make better-informed decisions regarding maintenance strategies. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Dalam era revolusi industri 4.0, inovasi menjadi kunci bagi perusahaan dalam mencapai visi dan misi mereka. Salah satu inovasi tersebut adalah penerapan Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Namun, PT XYZ masih mengandalkan sistem konvensional berbasis kertas yang memiliki berbagai kelemahan seperti pencatatan kerusakan mesin yang tidak lengkap, risiko data usang karena pembaruan lambat, pencarian data yang membutuhkan waktu lama, serta risiko kehilangan atau kerusakan dokumen. Sebagai solusi, metode paper-based digantikan dengan sistem digital melalui pengembangan situs web untuk mengoptimalkan TPM. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi lapangan dan dianalisis menggunakan metode SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Timebound) untuk memastikan solusi yang efektif. Selanjutnya, aplikasi berbasis web yang dinamakan E-TPM dikembangkan menggunakan PHP, dengan framework CodeIgniter, database MySQL, dan desain antarmuka yang mudah digunakan dengan Bootstrap 5.0. Transformasi digital ini memungkinkan pengelolaan data kerusakan mesin secara real-time, meningkatkan efisiensi pengawasan kegiatan TPM. Penyimpanan data secara digital mengurangi risiko pemalsuan dan kehilangan data. Penerapan E-TPM juga berdampak positif pada penghematan biaya hingga Rp 495.000 per tahun dengan mengurangi penggunaan kertas untuk tag TPM. Dengan data yang akurat, manajemen dapat lebih efektif dalam merumuskan strategi pemeliharaan.

Abstract

Chitin is a biopolymer that can be extracted from exoskeleton of shrimp shells and other arthropods. One of its derivatives is N-acetylglucosamine that is comprised of glucose and amino acid glutamine. N-acetylglucosamine is known for its health effect, particularly in the treatment of osteoarthritis symptoms. One of the methods to produce N-acetylglucosamine is by fermentation using chitinolytic microorganisms. The aim of this research was to determine the optimum condition (pH, ratio of bacteria, fermentation time, and temperature) for fermentation using the combination of Providencia stuartii and Salmonella enterica to produce N-acetylglucosamine. The research was conducted at different pH (5, 6, 7, 8, 9) and bacterial ratios (3:1, 1:1 and 1:3). Furthermore, the optimum incubation temperature (30, 37, 40oC) and fermentation time (1, 2, 3 and 4 days) were also evaluated. The results showed the optimum condition was achieved at pH 8 with bacterial ratio of 1:1, incubated at 37oC for 3 days.  Under these conditions, N-acetylglucosamine concentration obtained was 87,707.04 ± 906.54 ppm.

Abstract

A sense of safety and comfort is a fundamental right for all people. The United Nations strives to fulfil this through the establishment of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The construction sector plays a significant role in achieving these goals, particularly in the areas of Good Health and Well-being, Clean Water and Sanitation, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Responsible Consumption and Production, and Climate Action. One key effort in the construction sector is replacing Portland cement with pozzolanic materials. Cement production emits large amounts of carbon dioxide, contributing substantially to global warming. To address this, pozzolanic materials such as fly ash are used as a substitute for cement in the production of geopolymer concrete. Based on compressive strength tests on cylindrical specimens and flexural strength tests on beam specimens, geopolymer concrete demonstrates high potential for structural applications. Its mechanical performance is comparable to that of conventional concrete, making it a promising alternative that supports sustainable development in the construction industry.

Abstract

High occurrence of muscle pain has encouraged the development of practical natural solutions, such as stick balm formulated with galangal (Alpinia galanga) essential oil, which shows potential as a topical analgesic agent. This study formulated galangal stick balm to relieve muscle pain while meeting physical requirements and user preferences. The formulation involved variations in base composition (solid paraffin and white petrolatum) and methyl salicylate concentration to evaluate physical characteristics such as pH, homogeneity, melting point, and irritation potential. A hedonic test was conducted to determine the most preferred formula. Results showed that all formulas had safe pH levels (4.5–6.5), good homogeneity, melting points between 57–60°C, and caused no skin irritation in volunteers. Hedonic testing identified Formula F4 as the best candidate based on aroma, warmth, and texture. Therefore, galangal essential oil stick balm has promising potential to be developed as a safe, stable, and user-friendly analgesic topical preparation. Bahasa Indonesia Abstract: Tingginya kasus nyeri otot mendorong pengembangan solusi alami yang praktis, seperti balsam stik berbahan minyak atsiri lengkuas (Alpinia galanga), yang memiliki potensi sebagai agen analgetik topikal. Penelitian ini merumuskan formulasi balsam stik lengkuas untuk meredakan nyeri otot yang memenuhi syarat fisik dan disukai. Formulasi dilakukan dengan variasi komposisi basis (paraffin solid dan vaselin album) dan variasi metil salisilat untuk mengevaluasi karakteristik fisik seperti pH, homogenitas, titik lebur, dan potensi iritasi. Uji kesukaan dilakukan untuk melihat formula mana yang paling disukai. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa seluruh formula memiliki pH dalam rentang aman (4,5–6,5), homogenitas yang baik, titik lebur antara 57–60°C, serta tidak menimbulkan iritasi pada kulit sukarelawan. Uji kesukaan menunjukkan Formula F4 sebagai kandidat terbaik berdasarkan aroma, kehangatan, dan tekstur. Dengan demikian, balsam stik minyak atsiri lengkuas berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai sediaan antinyeri yang aman, stabil, dan disukai pengguna.
