Abstract

Excessive and prolonged sun exposure can cause erythema and sunburn, premature aging and skin cancer. Kersen leaves contain total flavonoids and phenolics which can be used as active ingredients for making sunscreen lotion. This study was to determine the SPF value, the value of erythema transmission (% Te) and the value of pigmentation Transmission (% Tp) from extracts and lotions of kersen ethanol extract using the Uv-Vis spectrophotometric method. Absorbance increases at wavelengths of 290-400 nm at intervals of 5 nm. The results showed SPF extract values ​​with a composition of 500 ppm, 1000 ppm, and 2000 ppm combined - 12 were 12.15 (maximum ability); 17,29 (ultra protection); and 22.01 (ultra protection). % Te value 0.54; 0.16 and 0.05 all include the total block category,% value Tp 2.50; 1.30 and 0.49 (total blocks). Whereas for losio with a concentration of 0.5%, 1% and 2% respectively the SPF value produced is 3.61 (minimum protection); 8.18 (maximum protection) and 10.13 (maximum protection). % Te value 4.29 (extra protection); 1.58 (extra protection) and 0.99 (maximum protection). % value Tp 9.30; 4.22 and 2.80 are all included in the total block category. Abstract

Latar Belakang : Kosmetika halal sangat dibutuhkan oleh konsumen Indonesia yang mayoritas beragama muslim. Krim tabir surya merupakan kosmetik yang sering digunakan karena tingginya bahaya sinar UV A dan UV B dari sinar matahari dapat mengakibatkan penuaan dini pada kulit seperti timbulnya bintik-bintik hitam sampai dengan keriput dan kanker kulit. Ekstrak biji lamtoro memiliki kandungan flavonoid yang dapat berfungsi sebagai antioksidan. Tujuan : penelitian ini adalah pembuatan krim ekstrak biji lamtoro, pengujian efektifitas tabir surya dengan penentuan nilai SPF, %TE dan %TP Metode : pembuatan krim ekstrak biji lamtoro dilakukan dengan emulgator span 80, tween 80 dan asam stearat. Konsentrasi ekstrak biji lamtoro yang digunakan sebanyak 3%, 5%, dan 7%. Evaluasi formula yang dilakukan meliputi organoleptis, homogenitas, daya sebar, daya lekat dan pH. Formula dilakukan pengujian nilai SPF, %TE, dan %TP Hasil : hasil organoleptis berbentuk setengah padat, berwarna hijau, berbau aromatis; krim homogen. Hasil nilai SPF krim ekstrak biji lamtoro secara berturut-turut yaitu 4,90; 6,33; dan 7,09. Nilai %TE krim 26,03%; 16,29%; dan 14,16%. Hasil nilai %TP krim 38,52%; 28,02%, dan 26,66%.

Abstract

Mahoni (Swietenia mahagoni L.) merupakan tanaman yang termasuk dalam golongan tanaman obat. Bagian dari tanaman yang sering dipakai sebagai obat oleh masyarakat adalah biji. Biji mahoni mempunyai kandungan kimia alkaloid, saponin, dan flavonoid. Salah satu senyawa fitokimia yang penting dan memiliki potensi sebagai antibakteri adalah flavonoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri dari emulgel ekstrak dan ekstrak etanol 96% biji mahoni terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan uji sifat fisik pada sediaan emulgel. Pada pembuatan emulgel dibuat perbandingan konsentrasi ekstrak etanol 96% minyak biji mahoni dan gelling agent carbhopol 934 dan HPMC. Uji aktivitas antibakteri dilakukan dengan metode difusi sumuran dan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Evaluasi antibakteri dilakukan pada ekstrak etanol 96% minyak biji mahoni (30%, 40%, 50%) dan sediaan emulgel (30%, 35%, 50%). Evaluasi sifat fisik formula emulgel meliputi uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji daya lekat, uji pH, uji viskositas, dan uji daya sebar. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa daya hambat antibakteri pada bakteri staphylococcus aureus ekstrak etanol 96% minyak biji mahoni (30%, 40%, 50%) secara berturut-turut yaitu 0,67cm ;1,1cm ; 1,53 cm. Sedangkan pada sediaan emulgel (30%, 35%, 40%) secara berturut-turut yaitu 0,5 cm ; 0,76 cm ; 1 cm. Hasil evaluasi sifat fisik formula emulgel secara organoleptis berwarna coklat, berbentuk semi padat, berbau khas biji mahoni, dan berasa dingin dikulit; tidak homogen; uji daya lekat sebesar 27,56 - 35,22 detik uji pH yang didapat 8,35 -8,75; uji viskositas yang didapat 86,67 -133,33 dPas; dan uji daya sebar didapat hasil 19,04 – 26,11 cm2.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Biji mahoni telah lama dikenal untuk berbagai pengobatan salah satunya untuk menurunkan kadar gula darah. Biji mahoni mengandung fitokonstituen seperti golongan limonoid, kumarin, ester asam lemak, steroid, polifenol, esensial oil, tanin, dan flavonoid. Tujuan Penelitian : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kadar total flavonoid dalam ekstrak biji mahoni. Metode Penelitian : Proses ekstraksi dilakukan dengan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% untuk menarik senyawa kimia di dalam ekstrak. Ekstrak yang diperoleh dikarakterisasi organoleptis, pH dan viskositas. Analisis kandungan kimia ekstrak secara kualitatif menggunakan pereaksi warna untuk mengetahui adanya alkaloid, tanin, flavonoid, dan saponin dalam ekstrak. Pengukuran kadar total flavonoid ekstrak biji mahoni secara kuantitatif menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Baku standar yang digunakan yaitu kuersetin yang merupakan flavonoid golongan flavonol. Pereaksi yang digunakan untuk uji total flavonoid yaitu AlCl3 dan Na. asetat anhidra, pengukuran total flavonoid dilakukan pada panjang gelombang 414,5 nm dan waktu inkubasi 16 menit. Hasil : Ekstrak yang diperoleh berbentuk cair, berbau pahit menyengat, dan berwarna coklat tua. pH ekstrak 5,61 dan viskositas ekstrak 20 cPs. Pada uji kualitatif didapatkan ekstrak biji mahoni mengandung alkaloid, tanin, dan flavonoid. Analisis kuantitatif total flavonoid ekstrak biji mahoni diperoleh kadar senyawa total flavonoid sebesar 258,85 mcg/gram ekstrak.

Abstract

Background: Myrmecodia sp extract is known to be effective as an antioxidant on a concentration of 5-50 ppm. Antioxidants are substances that can scavenge free radicals. Free radicals can cause skin damage. Peel off mask is a cosmetic product that function as a dead skin peel mechanically containing synthetic polymers that are quite safe and effective. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant effectiveness of the Myrmecodia sp extract. Method: The research used variations in the Myrmecodia sp extract of 2 %, 3%, and 4 %. The evaluation was carried out on the physical properties of the peel off mask and the antioxidant activity test. The antioxidant activity test used the 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl method. Statistical tests were carried out on the physical properties of the preparation and IC50 peel off mask using the one-way ANOVA test with a 95% confidence level. Result: Based on this research, it was found that the gel peel-off mask preparation of Myrmecodia sp. extracts has organoleptic of a bit thick, brown and odourless. The value of adhesion is between 10.33-13.04 seconds, pH 6.27-6.75, viscosity 17.00-22.67 dPas, and drying time 17.33-24.33 minutes. The test for the antioxidant activity of IC50 peel off mask at F 2, F 3 and F 4 was 49.4 ppm, 39.41 ppm and 35.25 ppm respectively. Conclusion: The peel-off gel mask of Myrmecodia sp. extracts has the potential as an antioxidant with the strong ability category.

Abstract

Hibiscus sabdariffa L. dikenal dengan nama bunga Rosela merupakan tanaman yang banyak ditemukan di Indonesia dan memiliki banyak manfaat untuk kesehatan. Kandungan polifenol yang tinggi pada bunga Rosela telah banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai antioksidan untuk menangkal radikal bebas. Pada penelitian akan dilakukan optimasi masker peel off menggunakan design of experiment 7.0.0 metode simplex latice design dengan membandingkan polimer carbomer dan polivinil alkohol. Pengujian masker peel off yang dilakukan yaitu uji organoleptis, homogenitas, daya sebar, daya lekat, pH, dan uji viskositas. Persamaan hasil uji yang diperoleh dapat digunakan untuk melihat persamaan hubungan antara komposisi polimer dengan hasil uji. Formula optimum diperoleh berdasarkan analisis software design of experiment 7.0.0. Hasil uji organoleptis yang diperoleh dari run 1-13 berbentuk semi padat dan berwarna merah kecoklatan. Peel-off yang terbentuk homogen dengan nilai daya sebar 14,14-24,93 cm2, memiliki daya lekat dalam range 12,47–36,41 detik, nilai pH berkisar 4,213-4,88, viskositas 120 –250 dPas, hasil uji responden diperoleh antara 18,25-19,10 dan uji waktu pengeringan peeloff 6,02-11,30 detik. Formula optimum peel off ekstrak etanol 70% bunga Rosela diperoleh dengan kombinasi carbomer dan PVA 1 : 4 %.

Abstract

Oxidative stress plays an important role in the pathophysiology of the aging process and various degenerative diseases. Antioxidants are needed by the body to overcome and prevent oxidative stress. Plants native to Indonesia contain lots of antioxidants. The purpose of providing information or knowledge to PKK/Dawis mothers and SMA/SMK teachers about the efficacy of antioxidant therapy in preventing degenerative diseases. The method used is interactive online discussion. The 25 participants were first given a questionnaire to measure the level of participants' knowledge about the efficacy of antioxidants in the prevention of degenerative diseases. After that, the participants were given material about the efficacy of antioxidants in preventing degenerative diseases. After the activity of delivering the material, the participants were again given a questionnaire to measure the level of understanding related to the material that had been delivered. The results of the implementation of the activities and the results of the questionnaire based on the test. The results of the Mann-Whitney test showed that there was an average difference before and after participating in the training.

Abstract

Abstract: Pharmacists, as one of the professional health workers, have a big responsibility related to the use of traditional medicines, especially pharmacists in the community who deal directly with consumers, starting from choosing to use, ensuring the safety of use, and providing education about traditional medicines. This study aims to explore the perception of pharmacists as agents of change (AoC) and whether they are ready to take an active role in Indonesian society in the use of traditional medicines. Exploratory observation is used to deepen knowledge and seek new ideas about a particular phenomenon with non-participatory observation steps. The results of this study show that many people still use traditional medicine because of the suggestions and beliefs of the community from generation to generation. Pharmacists have been able to play an active role as a source of information on conventional medicines in the community. The conclusion is that people have used a lot of traditional medicine for curing disease or trying to increase stamina, even with information on the efficacy and dosage of use according to hereditary information.

Abstract

Mahogany seed oil has antimicrobial, antihypertensive, antidiabetic and anti-inflammatory activities. This activity can be developed in SNEDDS dosage form. SNEDDS can deliver lipophilic drugs to the target side of the drug. SNEDDS has oil components, surfactants, and co-surfactants. In this study, optimization of the SNEDDS formula with the SLD method will be carried out. The oil components tested were oleic acid, VCO and HDI; surfactants namely Cremophor RH40 and Tween 80; and co-surfactant components, namely PEG 400 and propylene glycol. The tests for SNEDDS were transmittance, pH, and emulsification time. The results of the evaluation were analyzed to obtain the optimal formula and determined the loading dose. The next test was to determine the particle size and zeta potential to see the stability of SNEDDS mahogany seed oil. Result : Optimal formula composition obtained oleic acid 1,00 Cremophor RH 40 7,89 and PEG 400 1,11 with desirability value 0,988. Loading dose of mahogany seed oil obtained 800 l with a transmittance value of 99,3 % + 0,44 ; pH 5,06 + 0.63 , and emulsification time 74,04 + 6,05 seconds. SNEDDS mahogany seed oil measuring 17,7 nm + 0,3 with a potential zeta value of -22,67 mV + 0,47. SNEDDS mahogany seed oil obtained belongs to Grade A where SNEDDS quickly forms nanoemulsions in 1 minute, has a clear appearance.

Abstract

Background : sunlight contains ultraviolet that happened skin problem from mild to severe. To overcome these problems, a sunscreen made from natural materials is relatively safe. CKersen Leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) contain total flavonoids and phenolics can be used as active ingredients. In lotion preparations, emulsifiers can affect the physical properties of lotions. Objective : from this research is to study the optimal emulgator composition of stearic acid and triethanolamine in 70% ethanol extract of Kersen Leaves. Method :  stearic acid and triethanolamine will be optimized using Software Design Expert version 11 Simplex Lattice Design method. Formula was evaluated using organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, dispersibility, adhesion, and viscosity. Result : showed that 8 run of 70% ethanol extract of lotion leaves of Kersen (muntingia calabura L.) were homogeneous, had a brown color, typical odor of greentea with a pH of 6.64-8.06; spread capacity 5.32-6.18 cm; adhesion of 3.85-15.37 seconds and viscosity of 2000-3100 cp. Conclusion : optimal formula for lotion preparations obtained stearic acid 3.31% : triethanolamine 2.69%. T test results show the equation that applies to the pH response, adhesion and viscosity.
