Abstract

Background: HIV/AIDS is still considered as a deadly and hard to be cured disease by the society and therefore raises negative perceptions towards People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). These negative perceptions can influence the quality of life of PLWHA, where the worse quality of life that they have, the greater chances for them to develop AIDS. This study aims to analyze the factors associated to the quality of life of PLWHA.Methods: The population of this study is PLWHA in Semarang City who are currently undergoing ART therapy and are under the assistance of Yayasan Sehat Peduli Kasih. The study was conducted on October – November 2020 towards 70 subjects whom were chosen using the purposive sampling technique. Instrument used for this study was online questionnaires. Data were analyzed with univariate and bivariate analysis using a chi-square test.Result: The results showed that 54.3% of the subjects were having poor quality of life. Factors that are associated with the quality of life of PLWHA are income level (p=0.009), duration of diagnosis (p=0.004), duration of ART therapy (p=0.002), level of family support (p=0.007), level of stigma (p<0.001) and level of depression (p<0.001). Meanwhile gender, age, marital status, education level, employment status and the level of medication adherence did not associate with the quality of life of PLWHA.Conclusion : Based on these results, it is recommended to conduct a comprehensive social activity that is focused on improving the mental health and the quality of life of PLWHA where all patients with any backgrounds could freely participate.

Abstract

Background: Lung cancer is a disease of the respiratory system that gets special attention because the World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that in 2018, lung cancer was the cancer with the highest number of morbidity and mortality rate in the world. There are several types of lung cancer, one of which is adenocarcinoma, which accounts for about 40% of all lung cancers. In its management, cancer cells often develop resistance to EGFR TKI drugs while Cisplatin and Crizotinib have quite dangerous side effects, namely bradycardia to cardiotoxicity. Methods: The method used is a literature review with literature sources in the form of relevant article from search engine such as Pubmed and Google Scholar that contain keyword “ARL4C ASO-1316”, “lung adenocarcinoma”, “PAMAM Dendrimer Generasi 4” and “anti SFTPB antibody”.Result: The ability of ARL4C ASO-1316 in inhibiting the division and migration of lung adenocarcinoma cells has been proven in vivo and in vitro so that it can provide hope in the form of new modalities in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. In addition, the combination with the PAMAM Dendrimer G4-Anti SFTPB carrier can increase the ability to deliver ARL4C ASO-1316 to reach target tissues rapidly and can provide maximum effect in the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. Conclusion : Adenosine diphosphate-ribosylation like 4c antisense oligonuclotide-1316 with polyamidoamine dendrimer generation 4-anti surfactant protein b should provide novel approaches and new insights for lung adenocarcinoma.

Abstract

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2 is still a serious health problem in the world. Type 2 DM results from ineffective use of insulin by the body. Most people with type 2 diabetes worldwide are the result of being overweight and lacking physical activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of body mass index and physical activity with the glycemic control of type 2 DM patients. Methods: This study used an observational study with a cross sectional design conducted at the Panti Wilasa Citarum Hospital in Semarang. The population in this study were outpatients at Panti Wilasa Citarum Hospital with a sample of 74 people. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling. Measurement of glycemic levels with HbA1c, body mass index based on weight and height, and physical activity with the PAR-WHO questionnaire. Data analysis uses the Spearman Rank correlation test. Result: From 74 research respondents found 52.7% of respondents had bad glycemic control. There is a relationship between body mass index and poor glycemic control (p = 0.041). There is no relationship between physical activity and poor glycemic control (p = 0.437).Conclusion: The advice given for respondents is to be able to maintain their diet and increase physical activity by exercising regularly.

Background: Antenatal Care (ANC) is a health service that is conducted to monitor and support the health of the mother and fetus and detect the presence of disorders during pregnancy and prevent complications. An ANC visits are said to be compliant if pregnant women make ANC visits at least six times. Anc's visit in Ambon City showed a decrease from 2019 to 2020. This study was conducted with the aim of finding out if there is a relationship between the level of knowledge and attitude of pregnant women with compliance with ANC visits at Rijali Health Center in 2021.Method: This type of research is analytical with a cross-sectional approach with a sample number of 140 using consecutive sampling techniques. The analysis used in this study was a univariate and bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. Results: The results of this study obtained the percentage of respondents who obediently conducted an ANC of 74.3% and non-compliant by 25.7%.Conclusion : Based on the results of the chi-square test there is a relationship between knowledge (p = 0.007) and compliance with ANC visits at Rijali Health Center and there is no relationship between attitude (p = 0.745) and compliance with ANC visits at Rijali Health Center. Thus this study demonstrates the importance of knowledge and attitude in carrying out an ANC visit.

Abstract

Background: People with Diabetes Mellitus often wake up at night to urinate, thereby reducing the quality of sleep. Sleep quality is related to HbA1c levels. There are many studies regarding the relationship between sleep quality and glycemic control with the results that there is a relationship or no relationship. Methods: This study uses the Systematic Review method with PRISMA guidelines without meta-analysis. Databases used: ScienceDirect, PubMed, Scopus and Portal Garuda. The selected articles were critically assessed with Joanna Briggs Institute questionnaire.Result: There were 17 articles deserved to be analyzed. Many studies state that there is a relationship between global PSQI scores and sleep duration with HbA1c. PSQI is a predictor of HbA1c. The relationship between sleep duration and HbA1c is U-shaped.Conclusion : This study shows that sleep quality is related to glycemic control.

Abstract

Background: Health problems in West Kalimantan are dominated by infectious diseases based on health data showing that the list of the top 10 diseases is dominated by infectious diseases, the CFR rate is still quite high and outbreaks routinely occur due to infectious diseases. The purpose of the situation analysis is to determine priorities for infectious disease problems in West Kalimantan in 2019.Methods: This research was conducted from December 2020 to February 2021 in West Kalimantan Province. The research method used is an assessment method whose results will be presented descriptively with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Determining the priority of the problem using the PAHO-Adapted Hanlon method with assessment criteria based on the size of the problem, seriousness of the problem, intervention effectiveness, inequity and institutional factors by means of interviews with related parties within the West Kalimantan Provincial Health Office.Result: The results of the analysis of infectious disease problems in West Kalimantan Province show that the top 10 diseases are still dominated by infectious diseases such as diarrhea, TB and DHF. The CFR figure which is still quite high is contributed by TB, HIV/AIDS, diphtheria and DHF. In this study, TB was selected as a priority health problem because it obtained the highest PAHO score of 25.16. TB is still a major problem because case finding has not reached the national target of 80%, there is still transmission in the community and cases of TB in children are still quite high. Conclusion: Tuberculosis is a priority infectious disease problem in West Kalimantan. TB is the first priority problem in this study because case finding is not optimal, there is transmission in the community and there are still cases of TB in children. It is hoped that with monitoring and evaluation of training for cadres and health workers, screening of TB patients can be more massive and sensitive for providing complete TB treatment.
