Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of firm size, business risk, asset growth, and profitability on capital structure and to examine the application of Pecking Order Theory (POT) in the companies. The population was all food and beverage companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) in 2014-2016. This research used purposive sampling technique with the sample consisted of 14 companies. Data were sourced from the company financial reports published on IDX's website. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that profitability had a significant effect on capital structure, while firm size, business risks, and asset growth did not affect the capital structure of the firm. Related to the application of POT, the results showed that there were 6 companies applying POT in 2014, 7 companies applying POT in 2015, and 8 companies applying POT in 2016. Abstract

Banyuwangi In Your Hand is an application connected with fiber optic that has been connecting 280 kilometers in 28 districts in Banyuwangi Regency. However, the increasing numbers of the tourist is not in line with the numbers of application download. Therefore, the application needs to be evaluated in terms of the feature and program. This study examines the process of information update related to the location of tourism objects in Banyuwangi. This is a qualitative descriptive study. Data were collected from literature study and interviews with the tourists visiting Banyuwangi. This study proposed the idea of integrating GPS in Banyuwangi In Your Hand application to increase the performance of information update about tourism spots in Banyuwangi. This study also proposed to add tax refund application on the transaction feature in order to increase the value of the Banyuwangi In Your Hand application. Abstract

The purposes of this study are: (1) to classify the brand of the cooking oil product in the class A category using ABC method, (2) to identify the safety stock level of the inventory, and (3) to determine the highest reorder point for the cooking oil product in class A. This research is a descriptive research with quantitative approach. Data were collected based on observational studies and interviews. Data analysis was performed using 3IC tools divided into three stages: first, ABC analysis to classify product class in class A, B, or C; second, calculating the safety stock level for the class A cooking oil; and third, determining the reorder point. The results showed that of the 86 cooking oil’s brands and packagings, 28 brands were classified in class A; the highest safety stock calculation was on Sedaap brand cooking oil packaged in 2 liter refill, and the highest reorder point level was on the Rosebrand cooking oil packaged in 1 liter refill. Abstract

Related to the purchase and consumption of consumptive products (e.g., vehicles, houses, and other luxury goods), Bugis-Makassar society will perform a local tradition called Mappassili, which is a special ceremony performed after purchasing and before consuming the product. This study examines the post-purchase consumer behavior related to local culture. The objective of this study is to analyze the reasons behind the existence of Mappassili tradition and to examine customer satisfaction after implementing this tradition in Bugis-Makassar tribe in Makassar City. This study used a qualitative research method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the sample consisted of 20 research informants obtained by applying the snowball sampling technique. The results showed that even though Bugis-Makassar tribe has lived in a modern way of life, they still implement the Mappassili tradition after purchasing the product in order to avoid danger in life or due to the pressure from the parents or families. The Mappassili tradition was not only performed to achieve satisfaction, but also to obtain the feeling of security and comfort in purchasing and consuming the product. Abstract

Entrepreneurship has an important role in reducing the unemployment numbers in many countries, especially Indonesia. The synergy of three sectors, consisting of government as regulator, educational institution as educator, and private sector as capital provider, is significant in the process of creating and educating young entrepreneurs. University as one of the educational institutions has a strategic role in educating prospective entrepreneurs. However, many university graduates are still facing the dilemma of choosing to work in a company or being an entrepreneur and starting their own business. Therefore, this study examines the factors that influence student entrepreneurial intention. The sample of this study consisted of 100 respondents who were the students of the Faculty of Business and Management, Widyatama University, Bandung. Data were analyzed using multiple regression. The results showed that the factors influenced student entrepreneurial intention were university support (26.3%) and proactive personality (26.9%). Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of debt policy, dividend policy, and company growth on company value, with profitability as the intervening variable, in the finance companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The population of this study was all finance companies listed on IDX for the period of 2015 and 2016. The purposive sampling method was used in this study with the sample consisted of 12 finance companies. Data used were financial data sourced from the website of IDX. Data were analyzed using path analysis with two equations, i.e., the factors affecting company value and the factors affecting company profitability. Results of the study showed that debt policy, dividend policy, company growth, and profitability have no significant effect on company value. This study also found that debt policy and company growth have no significant effect on profitability, while dividend policy significantly affects profitability. Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the effect of ROE, DER, and firm size on stock prices of the manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data used in this study were panel data sourced from the combination of cross section data and time series data. This research used purposive sampling method with the sample consisted of 86 manufacturing companies listed on IDX in 2017. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that ROE and firm size had a positive and significant influence on stock price. However, DER did not have a significant influence on stock price. Abstract

The existence of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) has a strategic role to support local economic growth and create employment. This study aims to analyze the influence of company resources, business capabilities, and business strategy on the performance of SMEs in Manokwari Regency. This research is a descriptive study applying survey approach. Data were obtained from interviews and questionnaires distribution. Using accidental and proportional sampling, the collected sample was consisted of 100 SMEs in Manokwari Regency. The results showed that company resources and business capability had a significant influence on the performance, while business strategy did not affect the performance of SMEs in Manokwari Regency.
