Abstract

This article points to review one the Quranic interpretationwritten by Muhammad Irsyad. This interpretation which he called Tapsèr Sorat Yaa-siin (Bha>sa Madhura>) almost disappear in the middle of the Quranic interpretationdiscussions in Indonesia. Basically, there is no much different to other ordinary interpretation, both in terms of writing, presentation of the systematic or the method used. This interpretation was written in Madurese language in the Latin script and typed by the typewriter. As for verses, written by handwriting. The method used in this interpretation is the maud}u>‘i@ surah method, while Surah Yasin as the focus of interpretation. Tapsèr Sorat Yaa-siin (Bha>sa Madhura>) has two nuances (type), those are the scientific and social type. During the interpretation process, Muhammad Irshad utilized the scientific perspective to uncover the scientific Quran and at the same time to respond several mythologies that is still rooted in Madurese society. According to Irsyad’s view, the Quran not only acts as a guide, but also as a source of all knowledge. It is not only sacred, but also scientific. Humans should use their minds to uncover scientific messages contained in the Quran.

Abstract

Political Gender bias hints at the marginality of women under the control of men. Women seem to never move from the shackles of male dominance in all aspects, not least Syari’at religion. Imam Mazhab organize the woman’s nakedness on all parts of the body except the face, palms and soles of the feet. And the opposite, men strip the body, except between the navel to the knee. Ideal moral distortion is clearly appear at this point, where the prevention of adultery against the fornication is contrary to the facts. Surveys prove that 7 parts of a man’s body which not used in the limits of the genitals, potentialy stimulate women sexual. Thus, the reconstruction of the male aurat is necessary for potential change in Gender Politics bias.This study seeks to launch a new discourse for overcome Gender Political bias in Shari’ah. The study is based on hermeneutics of suspicious that initiated by Amina Wadud as one of the initiators of gender equality. Methods of data analysis are qualitative, referring to previous research results and mixed with other data sources. Three variables are presented in this study: first, the explanation of Amina Wadud’s hermeneutics. Second, the disclosure of gender-bias evidence in Shari’ah. Third, the implementation of Amina Wadud’s Hermeneutic on the Political bias in Shari’ah, which contains the reconstruction offer on the Male aurat. The novelty side of the study lies in the reconstruction of male aurat and the use of Amina Wadud’s Hermeneutic as a blow to the analysis of male problems, where prior research has only focused on women’s issues.

Abstract

Abd al-Ra`uf al-Sinkilli, also known as teungku Syakh Kualam, is a quite productive Indonesian ulama, he took his education from his own birthplace, Singkil area, to the Arabian Land. Among his works is the book Tarjūman al-Mustafīd, an interpretive book which is recognized as the first interpretation book produced in Indonesia using the Malay language. This book has been published many times in various regions of the world. The method of writing Tarjuman al-Mustafid’s interpretation, we can see from two angles namely the angle of interpretation and the angle of meaning. When we explore from the point of view of the interpretation that explains the order of the verse and the explanation of the aspects and contents of the content of the verse, this is the tahlili method. Meanwhile, when viewed from the perspective of the meaning explained from the Tafsir, the method applied in writing the Tafsir is the ijmali method. Because the explanation is concise, concise, easy to understand and suitable for beginners. From this explanation makes the interpretation of Tarjūman al-Mustafīd very special, not only composed by the great ʻulama but also as the first interpretation in Malay which is complete 30 juz.

Abstract

This article explains the thoughts built by Asghar Ali Engineer. The author focuses on one of the major sub-themes in the book The Qur’an Women and Modern Society, namely divorce in the Qur’an and Shari’ah. According to Asghar Ali Engineer, legal experts have agreed to a divorce that is still exclusive in the area of men. Basically, in the Qur’an there is no such explicit statement. Thus only conclusions, not holy rules, are interpreted by medieval scholars of QS. Al-Qur’an al-Baqarah 2: 237. According to him, there are several verses of the Qur’an about divorce which according to Asghar are not relevant to the current context, only at the time of the Prophet. The object of the study in this study is to describe the methodology of Asghar in interpreting verses about divorce. Furthermore, from the explanation of Asghar Ali Engineer who has been detailed, indeed he has used the method he built, namely liberation theology, which this time focused on the theme of gender equality. The concept that he built can be broken down by the model of liberative-sociological normative interpretation.

Abstract

Dalam menjawab konteks sosial yang terjadi pada masa kini, Syahrur dalam kitabnya yang berjudul Al-Islam: Al-Ashlu wa Ash-Shurah menyuguhkan beberapa pemikirannya mengenai kemanusiaan dan kesetaraan, salah satunya perihal kesetaraan dalam pembagian hak waris. Dengan menggunakan teori hududnya, Syahrur mengatakan bahwa sesungguhnya bagian untuk anak laki-laki adalah sebagian dari anak perempuan, hal ini terjadi karena menurutnya laki-laki lebih banyak mengeluarkan energinya dibandingkan dengan perempuan, sehingga ia berhak atas pembagian waris dibandingkan dengan perempuan.

Abstract

Tulisan sederhana ini berupaya untuk membedah buku Wawasan Alquran karya M. Quraish Shihab. Melalui pendekatan intertekstualitas dapat dikatakan bahwa buku Wawasan Alquran bermula dari pengajian yang secara khusus diberikan kepada para eksekutif di Masjid Istiqlal. Penafsirnnya yang mengacu pada tema-tema khusus menggiring kepada bahwa M. Quraish Shihab menulis tafsirnya dalam Wawasan Alquran dengan metode tematik. Nuansa sosial-kemasyarakatan yang muncul dari penafsiran-penafsiran M. Quraish Shihab dalam Wawasan Alquran memberi kesan bahwa penafsiran M. Quraish Shihab bercorak adabi ijtima’i. Teks-teks lain yang berfungsi sebagai penguat atas penafsiran M. Quraish Shihab dalam Wawasan Alquran paling tidak datang dari H.A.R. Gibb, Muhammad Abduh, Sayyid Muhammad Rasyid Ridha, Ibn Khaldun, Ibn Asyur, Raghib Al-Isfahani, Mahmud Syaltut, Al-Ghazali, Ibn Faris, Newton dan Homer, Nazme Luck, Michael Hart, William James, Mustafa Al-Kik, dan beberapa tokoh terkemuka lainnya seperti Alexis Carrel dan Muhammad Imarah. Sementara teks-teks lain yang menjadi ladang kritik maupun timbangan paling tidak datang dari Al-Biqa’I, Abu Hanifah, Ats-Tsauri, Ibn Abi Laila, Ibn Syubrumah, Ibn Atiya, Abu Ubaidah, dan Al-Baidhowi.
