Abstract

The study was conducted in class VII-Purwakarta MTsN Plered on ecosystems material. Based on direct observation and interviews with teachers in MTs.N Plered that the activity of the class students are less active, critical thinking skills of students in the lower grade and variation model of applied learning teacher less. So that students actively in class and increase students' critical thinking skills used method Start Learning With A Question in the learning process. This study aims to determine the enforceability of the learning process by applying learning methods start with a question. Increasing students' critical thinking skills, and student responses to learning using learning methods start with a question on the material ecosystem. The framework of this research that students are required to actively ask especially at the beginning of the learning process of the student asks a thought process that is carried out in order to solve the problems of students in learning. This learning process with such students will be active in class and critical thinking would be formed. Method Start Learning With A Question is an active learning method in asking, where students are directly involved in the learning process. Active asked at the beginning of the learning will stimulate students to think critically about the material to be conveyed. From the data processing gained an average of N-Gain increase students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class 0.54 and the control class 0.49. To look significantly on the ability of critical thinking among students learning with Learning methods Start With A Question and without using the Start Learning With A Question presented through pretest and posttest values as well as the N-Gain. To prove this hypothesis significance test was used to test t nomalitas first tested and homogeneity. Because one of the data is not normal, the Mann-Whitney test. Based on the results of Mann-Whitney test scores N-Gain between the experimental class and the control class result that Zhitung> Ztabel. thus Zhitung> Ztabel ie 1.98> 1.65; Ho is rejected and Ha accepted meaning there is influence between the N-Gain pretest and posttest experimental class with N-Gain pretest and posttest control class. It can be concluded that there are significant learning method Start With A Question to increase students' critical thinking skills in ecosystem material.

Abstract

Student learning outcomes in schools is often indicated with learning problems of these students in understanding the material. Indication is made possible because of the lack of effective student learning, even the students themselves do not feel motivated to follow inthe classroom. In this research can help to overcome the existing problems, the implementation of cooperative learning model Everyone is a teacher here. The method used in this study is the method of Quasi-experimental design. The study design used was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest means researchers treated and make observations. Population taken is class XI Science. Data collection technique is done with thetest. The research proves that learning model everyone is a teacher here can be a positive influence on learning outcomes of students in the subject matter of the reproductive system, with the average value of the posttest in the class that uses the model everyone is a teacher here 76.29 with both category and value gain 33 , 43. In classes without a model the averageposttest score 69.43 with enough categories and gain value 26.86. To test the hypothesis shows that T_hitung amounted to 2.38> T_tabel of 1.67, so it can be concluded that the cooperative learning model everyone is a teacher here a positive effect on learning outcomes of students in the subject matter of the reproductive system.

Abstract

The study was based on a preliminary study at the school, which shows the lack of a wareness of the students to learn and repeat the subject matter presented so that the material obtained is easily for gotten, in addition regarded biology lessonfull of scientific studies that are difficult to pronounce and in memorized. Problems a rising from the necessary existence of the selection of appropriate learning strategies. One of the alternative learning strategies that have Student Question (QSH). The purpose of the study to determine the learning out comes of students in the material of the body's defense system by using strategies have student Question (QSH). This study uses the Pre-Experimental Design using the class as a class experiment(treatment). The populationin this study are all students of class XI Science SMAN 1.The sampling technique used is the purposive sampling technique. Retrieved sample of class XI Science 1 with a sample size of 24 students. Data processing is performed by the comparative analysis of the normality test, Z test, and find the value of N-Gain. Cognitive learning out comes of students achieved an average of 80.54 with KKM 75. Further analysis of the data, based on the calculation of the expected frequency table for thenormality teston the pretest and posttest pretest values obtained x2 count: 2.8893 and x2 countand posttest: 2.4180. When compared with the table valuex2 = 7.81 mean pretest and posttest data is normally distributed. The next step is to test the Z, then the values obtained posttest = Z count: -0.56 and Z tables: -1.65. In this case the Zcount > -Z table, then Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. And N-Gain value in this study is 0:56 in medium category, thus it can be said that the implementation of student learning strategies have Question (QSH) can improve the learning out comes of students.

Abstract

The model of PBL learning is one of alternative way in which can be used to increase the critical thingking skills. The model of PBL learning include, student as participant to so solving problem and for create them as active participant in every solving problem process. In the concept of critical thingking the student aimed to test their ways of solving problem and can aware of mistakes. Abstract

On learning activities in the class, teachers are faced with the reality of individual differences in ability. One of the causes that problem are students communication ability and the the teacher must determine the exact learning model to be used based on premilery study at SMPN 1 Tanggeung Cianjur, the ability of students communication at seventh class at material of organisasi kehidupan in the previous year are relatively low. Beside it, the cooperatif learning model tipe inside outside circle on the subject of Biologi has never been used. The purpuse of this research are for finding out the feasibility of study , to find out the students communication with or without learning model, analyzing the effect of learning model and knowing students respon on learning after using learning cooperatif model tipe inside outside circle of the organiasi kehidupan material. The research used quasi experiment method with nonequivalent control group design and the researcer took of the sample fromtwo classes with purposive sample technique, the instrument that was used was observation sheets, questionnaire, pretest and posttest in the form of twenty multiple choice questions that had been previously tasted. From the analysis that the feasibility study had increased, the activity of the teachcer in experiment class by 93,3 % was excellent categorized and control class 97% was excellent categorized too. The students communication in experiment class in average scores of pretest were 50,31, posttest 70,94 and N-gain 0,42 in medium categorized. Retrieved Zhitung 2,28 with the significant 5%, while the Ztabel1,65. Because Zhitung>Ztabel it can be concluded that Ho was rejected dan Ha was accepted. It’s mean that there was an effect of kooperatif learning model tipe inside out side circle on communication students skill at organisasi kehidupan materials. The students respon on learning using kooperatif learning model tipe inside outside circle had responded excelent with the average 83,05% with strong kualification.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the feasibility SQ3R method on the materialsub human excretory system, analyzing the critical thinking skills of students in the submaterial human excretory system using SQ3R method, analyzing the critical thinking skills ofstudents in the sub-material human excretory system with conventional learning, analyzingthe effect of the method SQ3R to the critical thinking skills of students in the sub-materialhuman excretory system and describes the students' response to the use of SQ3R method insub-material human excretory system. This study departs from the idea that learning thematerial sub human excretory system using the method SQ3R can help students to betterconcentrate on the text they have read and make students use thinking skills in understandingthe main ideas / concepts in the text. Such learning can train students to develop criticalthinking skills. The research method used is the method of quasi-experimental researchdesign with non-equivalent control group design. Samples were taken as much as two classeswith saturated sampling techniques. The instrument used is the observation sheet,questionnaire, pretest and posttest form of description as much as 10 questions that havepreviously been tested. The results obtained the critical thinking skills of students in theexperimental class 70.32 and N-gain of 0.28 with the qualification being. Meanwhile, criticalthinking skills of students in the control classes 64,35 and N-gain of 0.28 with lowqualifications. Results of Mann-Whitney test on the N-gain obtained Z hitung 6.71 > 1.65 Ztabel thus Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It is proved that there are significant SQ3Rstrategy on students' critical thinking skills in the sub-material human excretory system. Thisis supported by the average percentage of adherence to activity by 90% of teachers withexcellent qualifications, and the percentage of student responses by 71% with strongqualifications.

Abstract

The concept of organizational life in a biology lesson material that requires understanding quite difficult. There fore we need aninnovation that makes student learning is not saturated in an easy to learn and understand a concept PDEODE one of them with a strategy that could potentially broaden and deepen students' conceptual knowledge. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the strategy PDEODE student mastery of concepts in the material organization of life.This study departs from the idea that learning the material organization of life with perceived PDEODE strategy would cor respond to the material characteristics of the organization as a strategy PDEODE life is real, it can arouse the curiosity of students, and kontruktivistik so that students can form their own understanding. Through learning by using PDEODE strategy is expected to improve the mastery of student concepts. In this study using Quasi-Experiments with the study population was all students of class VII SMP 1 Atap Cikawao three years of academic classes 2013/2014 and samples in this study were taken two classes with sampling technique used purposive sampling because the research erdiscretion. The instrument used was a test, observation sheets and questionnaires. Test data were analyzed using t-test at the beginning of the test and the Mann-Whitney test at the end of the test and the N-gain. The results obtained on the students mastery of the concept of the experimental class 82.17 and N-gain of 0.72 with high qualifications. Mean while, students mastery of concept son the control class 73.83 and 0.58 with N-gain qualifications being. Mann-Whitney test results obtained on the posttest Zhitung 29 > Ztabel 1.96 and Mann-Whitney test results on the N-gain obtained Zhitung 6.3 > Ztabel 1.96 thus Ho is rejected and Ha accepted. It is proved that there are significant PDEODE strategy on the concept of student mastery of the material organization of life. This is supported by the percentage of adherence to activity by 95.85% teachers with excellent qualifications, student activity by 88% with excellent qualifications and the percentage of student responses at 81% with very strong qualifications.

Abstract

Technology continues to developing along with the times require people to participate utilize these technologies in various fields, including education.T he teacher need to use a variation of instructional media to increase student mastery of concepts. Against the background of preliminary observations showed low student mastery of concepts, it can be seen based on the average value of the test results is 60 students daily test the average value is still below the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) set a school that is 75 This shows the low student mastery of concepts. Therefore, to improve students 'mastery of concepts then applied using a model of Instructional Games Hot Potatoes.Tujuan to be achieved, this study describes: a) the activities of teachers and students during the learning process b) Increasing students' mastery of concepts before implementation models using Hot Potatoes Instructional games each cycle c) students' mastery of concepts as applied to the model using the Hot Potatoes Instructional Games in the entire cycle, d) the attitude of students towards using models Instructional Games Hot Potatoes.Penelitian is classroom Action Research is located at SMP 2 Tanjungsiang class VII C amounts to 36 students.The instrument used in this study consisted of the test, namely: material ecosystem to determine students' mastery of concepts, teacher observation sheet activities and attitudes of students using a questionnaire. The results obtained by a) increasing student activity in each cycle, the highest student activity in the third cycle is 85% (high). Activity obtaining teacher during the learning process grounded in the learning stages planned b) Increasing students 'mastery of concepts in the first cycle to 65% (enough), Cycle II 75% (high) and cycle III 87% (high) c) students' mastery of concepts Instructional games after application of the model using the Hot Potatoes by 75% (high) d) students' attitudes toward models using Hot Potatoes Instructional games are overall positive. This is evident from the average score of the students' attitude scores greater than neutral attitude of students.Based on these results it can be concluded that the application of the Instructional games with hot potatoes can effectively improve the students' mastery of concepts

Abstract

This study aims to find a laboratory inquiry learning model, obtain a description of students’ creativity development, and obtain a description of students’ responses toward using laboratory inquiry method with the theme of packaged beverage. The method in this study is quasi-experimental research design using Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The data is collected using creative thinking skill test, observation of attitude and action, as well as questionnaire. Quantitative data is analyzed using statistics. The results showed that the experimental class students experience the creative development from the aspects of creative thinking skills with the highest score is on the ability to think originally with N-gain of 42.13%in the moderate category. From the aspect of creative attitude, experimental class scores highest on the indicator of feeling challenged by a plurality by the N-gain of 59.25% in the moderate category. From the aspect of the creative act, the experimental class is highest on the performance aspects of lab implementation stage with average N-gain of 52.88% in the moderate category. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the students' responses to lab implementation, the ability to understand chemistry concepts through packaged beverage theme and their responses to learning method are positive.
