Abstract

If  given a couple of data  and  the  relationship  between  variable x and y is revealed as nonparametric regression model with is an error which is random variable with zero mean and variance  and is unknown function. If is an additive function with x  Rd, d ≥ 2. By using link function F, this research is focused on the way to get the estimator in additive component with link function by using two-stage methode and completed with simulation using logit link function. The result shows that two-stage estimator is eisier be used to model nonparametric regression by link function rather than Nadaraya-Watson and local linear. From the simulation, it’s obtained that of the mean and R2 value of the estimator is similar.

Abstract

Malaria disease is a parasite’s infection disease that can infect healthy human through Anopheles mosquito bite that contains parasite.  In this modern century, traditional medicines has grown better whether in it’s purpose or it’s presentation.  Meniran herb plant (Phyllanthus Niruri Linn) is one of plants that can be used tradisionally where it contains a compound from alkaloid’s, flavonoid’s, and lignan’s group.  Several researches show that the group compounds has an antimalaria activity.  The objectives of this research are to detect the influence of dosages, and days factors and their interaction to parasitemia Plasmodium Berghei percentage in extract test of meniran herb plant with metanol solvent that experimented in ”in vivo” culture on mice (Mus Musculus).  The objectives is to determine optimal dosage (per-centage) in diffusing parasitemia growth.  From examination and discussion result that both factors are inspected with its dosages, days, and their interaction influence significantly to pa-rasitemia percentage.  Refer to diffusing percentage, the highest percentage in 800.128 mg/kg mouse WG dosage is 61.82%.  So it can be explained that 800.128 mg/kg  mouse WG dosage are optimal to diffusing  6182 parasitemia growth for every 10000 eritrosit in mouse’s body.

Abstract

This paper discusses the sum of fundamental solutions of 2-D diffusion equation (for constant diffusion rate). Although a linear diffusion equation is considered, the sum of fundamental solutions is not automatically a solution. This is because of the presence of a singularity at the origin O. In this paper, it will be shown that the sum of fundamental solutions is a solution of the primitive of diffusion equation, diffusion equation in an integral form. It is also shown that the sum of fundamental solutions represents mass tranfer process caused by a source that impulsively releases  some amount of mass.

Abstract

Left truncated regression model is a regression model which the parameters prevailed for the dependent variable values y > a, with a is a left truncation point that is choosen according to the experiment goals, and a is also the observation object itself at once. Thus, truncated regression model is more correct if it is used for the experiment that oriented on a specific characteristic of the observation object, that is dependent variable. The distribution that is used for this regression model is normal left truncated distribution. Estimation of regression parameters used Maksimum Likelihood method with Newton’s iteratif method.

Abstract

Tropical rainfall is the most important  atmospheric  variable, because it can be  affect directly to human life.  Tropical rainfall is also important for global climate and weather.  The annual total of  tropical rainfall differs from year to year and from place to place. Other characteristics, such as its seasonal and diurnal distribution, intensity, and duration  also demonstrate spatial and temporal variations. Results of  the statistical analysis to rainfall data indicate that rainfall variation coefficients in the southern Indonesia are  higher than its in the northern Indonesia .

Abstract

This paper presents  epistemological studies  of  propositional  logic and  predicate logic. The topic is a part of the dissertation proposal under title “Ëpistemology of Mathematical Logic According to Ludwig Wittgenstein”.   Author is a student of the Doctor Program  of Gajah Mada University,  the majorstudy  is  philosophy. There are some  difference, equality, and relation between propositional  logic and  predicate logic.  Both of them use the same ope-rator, method, and rule of  inference. There are five  operator of logic, that  are  disjunction, conjunction, negation, implication,  and biimplication. The truth value of proposition deter-minated by definition.  There are eighteen rules of  inference, four rules for removing quan-tifiers,  and four rules for  introducing quantifiers. There are two methods of validity test, that are direct proof and indirect proof; and  there is one common method for invalidity test , that is Counter Exampel Method. The basic component of  propositional logic is  simple statement. The basic component of predicate logic is predicate. In the predicate logic beside Counter Exampel Method for invalidity test,  there is another method for invalidity test that is Finite Universe Method.  The conclusion  of this research is  propositional logic  which a part of  predicate logic. If  a form is valid in propositional  logic, then  the form  is valid in predicate logics. Thus scope of predicate logic is wider than propositional logic.
