Abstract

To reduce the encroachment by the people living around the forest, Perum Perhutani has initiated a program called Forest Management with Community System. The community around the forest at Ciwalenvillage, sub Dayeuh Luhur, Cilacap district, Central Java province, has establishedForest Village Community Organization of Galih Rimba. The Writers implementedThe Community Service Program with Forest Village Community Organization of Galih Rimba,in form of: (1) Training and Pilottingthe cultivationof fern (Diplazium esculentum) in the area of pine forest at Perum Perhutani KPH West Banyumas plots 26A and on land owned by the community. (2) Training and Pilottingthe cultivation of rubber (Hevea Brasiliensis) to supply the needs of qualified rubber to assist farmers at Forest Village Community Organization of Galih Rimba and the farming community in general. From the program implementation and discussion, it results: (1) The program can be implemented through the active participation of its officials working partners,Forest Village Community Organization of Galih Rimba. (2) The knowledge and practical skills improvement of program participants have been there, yet it has not reached an economic value. (3) It is necessary to hold scheduled further programs for achieving the targeted farmers as participants at Forest Village Community Organization of Galih Rimba gradually and produce valuable and economical products.

Abstract

The problem of forest resources in Darajat Forest Zone is a multidimensional problem, involving social issues, economics and the environment, yet the continuing process of forest degradation in particular. This is due to logging which is notbalanced the effort of established rehabilitation. Intercropping farming systems, plundering and illegal loggingin forests committed by the community made deforestation worse. Another important issues is the lackness of community role and the parties support outside Perum Perhutani KPH Garut, such as the district/village government, universities and non-governmental organizations so that rehabilitating the forest area is not considered as an optimal effort, still.Forest resources management model through multi-stakeholder partnerships which is done participatively, integratedly and sustainably starting from forest resources inventory,program planning, implementation and partnership monitoring programcan be implemented optimally. Multistakeholder Partnership Program in forest management suitable with the partnership principlesaretogetherness, equality, trust and mutual benefit. It is expected all stakeholders participate and contribute according to their role and function.

Abstract

The less succesful of guidance and counseling in high schools is caused by chinless cooperation between the counselor and the counselee on implementing guidance and counseling. The counselee are expected to be able to enhance thinking skills, make decisions, continue education to the higher levels and plunge into the work field. Yet, counselors often interpret mostly counselees are less capable in handling matters. Therefore, counselors need to perform guidance and collaborative counseling in form of encouraging the counselee to participate, take advantage of capabilities, excellence and experience, until they improve their learning skills. These training methods involve discussions, lectures, and demonstrations / practice. One of the training results is enhancing counselors’ spirit to understand and implement the guidance concept and collaborative counseling as well as to join further trainings. The enthusiasm owned by counselors is supporting its success to provide assistance toward the counselee, as well. This training can increase the counselors capabilities to attract the counselee into consultation, and involve them in solving the problem. Guidance and collaborative counseling accordance with the conditions in schools are quite appropriate for handling the problems faced by the counselee.

Abstract

Correctional systems are maintained in order to establish patronages to be fully human, aware of sins, improve themselves, and not to repeat the criminal act so that they can be accepted by society. In KKN-PPM, Universities and Penitentiary in Garut and Subangare cooperating one another in providing working guidance in a variety of competitive skills which has the objective to focus on the process of re-empowerment of inmates as well as sharpening human resources toward the prisoners. The method implemented is participatory methodwithin coaching inmates by giving community-based corrections. KKN-PPM has economic potential that can be enhancedits role through inmates empowerment at Class II A Subang and Class II B Garut correctional facilitiesby involving students from interdisciplinary, they are Agriculture Economic, and Law major. Based on the data, the number of the correctional facility and penitentiary inmates in Indonesia are around 76% including the productive age. The ultimate purpose of the correctional system is reuniting prisoners with the society, as good citizens and being more responsible.The ex-patronages in the community are expected to building the society and not the other wayor becoming an obstacle overthe development.

Abstract

Community empowerment in Rancasari focuses on two villages, namely Cipamokolan and Mekarjaya. This empowerment is intended to give bit of capital for community member in both villages in order to improve their skills by giving the training in making door-mats. By this training, the community is expected to acquire skills, be able to do something useful, and earn extra income. The method used is a community empowerment refers to the concept of "working with people" in order "to help people to help themselves" so that the various activities undertaken should always involve the target group. This community is still modest, so the use of simple technology that is easily understood by those likely to be readily accepted. The results obtained are they can assemble in a simple activity to acquire simple skills, namely making door-mats from textile mill waste materials. In fact, they can follow it, can make simple door-mats which can be useful for marketing and can earn extra income.

Abstract

Community empowerment is a development process where community initiate to start the process of social activities to improve the situation and condition their self. Community empowerment can happen only if citizens participate. Based on that, the training was held community empowerment through training in the manufacture of “kerupuk gendar” Sekelimus Utara Bandung. This training is expected to bring a positive influence for the citizens of Sekelimus Utara Bandung, especially for mothers. The training process was conducted on the learning theory and practice. Selection of “kerupuk gendar” as the main object of this training as “kerupuk gendar” is one of the traditional food preparation easy and not costly. Traditional foods are foods and beverages commonly consumed by a particular community, with a distinctive flavor that is accepted by the community. As we know that food is not only serves to satisfying their hunger alone but the food has a social function, culture, politics, and economics. Various types of food produced a nation can be used as one measure of the high culture of the people concerned. The food not only as a means to satisfy hunger, maintain relationships, but can also be sold, promoted resulting in a slight advantage. After this training is expected that residents can obtain various benefits include improving knowledge and skills, increase opportunities for entrepreneurship, increase revenue, improve public participation and to partner.
