Abstract

This study objectives is to determine how the condition of the purse seine fishery business and also to determine the feasibility of the purse seine fisheries business in Benoa Public Port. In this study the method used is descriptive quantitative method. The data analysis method used is by calculating income, depreciation, and business profits, then to find out the business feasibility calculated the value of the payback period, B / C ratio, break event point. The primary data taken is data belonging to KM Bintang Bahagia 6 which is in the form of fish catch data per trip for 1 year, investment costs, fixed costs and variable costs, while secondary data is taken from the literature as well as data from the Directorate General of Marine Resources and Fisheries in the form of data on the number of purse seine fleets and the number of catches of purse seine vessels in Benoa Public Port. The condition of the fisheries business with purse seine fishing equipment in Benoa Public Port can be categorized as still quite good. This can be seen from the large number of operating fleets and the catches obtained are still relatively stable. The value of the payback period obtained is 1.1, B / C ratio 1.6, and BEP units of 99,433 kg and BEP sales of Rp 2,165,557,791. With this analysis, it can be stated that purse seine fisheries are feasible.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of seaweed growth grown in bags with different methods. This research was conducted in the village of Kutuh in the waters of Pandawa Beach in December 2019 to January 2020, by taking data once a week for 6 weeks. This research is experimental using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consists of two different treatments namely A (Apart in a bag) and B (Bound in a bag). The results showed that the growth pattern of seaweed in treatments A and B was almost the same. Treatment A added weight of seaweed in the 6th week reached 638,444 grams and treatment B reached 637,333 grams. Specific Growth (SGR) Treatment A was 4,409% while treatment B was 4,413%. The results of interview of 10 respondents who were interviewed 70% of farmers prefer to remain a seaweed cultivator and another 30% choose to switch professions as a provider of tourism services. Of the 70% percentage can be said that 100% of farmers prefer Treatment A as a method that can be applied. The measurement of water quality during the study were temperature range between 28,5 - 33 0C, depth ranged from 0,47 – 1,5 m, pH ranged from 7-7.7, salinity ranged from 26,3 - 34 ppt, DO ranged from 5,1 – 7,9 mg / l, nitral ranged between 1,87 – 2,04 mg / l, phosphate ranges from 0,25 – 0,33 mg / l. The value of water quality is still in the optimal range for seaweed growth.

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the tourism suitability index and carrying capacity of Red Island Beach. The study was carried out using descriptive method. The study used purposive sampling to determine the tourism suitability index, while the data used for determination of tourism carying capacity was collected directly using QGIS software. The data was colledted from 3 stations along the Red Island Beach, and the distance of each station was 1000 m. The distance of sampling from the beach was 10 m, and performed in triplicate. Parameters measured in this study were: water depth, beach type, beach width, substrate type, water current, slope, water sharpness, land cover, dangerous biota, and freshwater availability. The results showed that the value of the tourism suitability index from 3 stations was categorized into S1 (Very Suitable) (IKW> 80%). The result indicates that the beach of Red Island Banyuwangi can support the development of recreational beach activities. As for the value of the support of the area divided into 2 categories, for the tourism category of recreational beaches obtained the value of carrying capacity of 1,500 people/day, swimming category obtained the value of the support of 240 people/day. It could be concluded that carrying capacity of Red Island Beach is categorized as under carrying capacity. The visitor should be increased up to 36% to reach a balance tourism visit.

Abstract

The diversity of biodiversity in Jemeluk Beach did not guarantee that all marine tourism activities on Jemeluk Beach was not have damage or negative impact on the environment. This research was conducted to determine how the suitability of marine tourism conditions (snorkeling, diving, and beach recreation) in an effort to preserve sustainable marine tourism. This research used the analysis of tourism suitability by comparing the characteristics and quality of land against land use requirements for certain tourism activities. The method of measuring coral cover used the LIT (Line Intercept Transect) method which is based on the form of coral growth. Measurement of the type and number of reef fishes was assessed using the UVC (Underwater Visual Cencus) method by taking data along 50 meters at the same depth as the coral cover data collection. The suitability condition of snorkeling tourism at points I and II was classified as quite appropriate with a value of 78% and 72.23%, while point III was classified as conditionally appropriate with a value of 46.3%. The suitability of diving tourism at points I and II were classified as conditional according to the values of 44.5% and 38.2%, while point III was classified as incompatible with the value of 33.34%. While the results of the calculation of the suitability of the beach tourism index showed a very suitable category with a value of 90% to be used as an object of marine tourism development.
