Abstract

Betta fish (Betta splendens) is an ornamental fish that is in great demand by the community from adults to children. This fish has features such as beautiful body color, unique fin shape, and easy to maintain in a low oxygen environment. The growth rate is still slow causing the maintenance period to be relatively long so that the profits obtained are relatively small. Feeding is one of the important factors in the growth optimization process. Feed that has high protein can be used as a solution in betta fish cultivation. The feed used in the study was lemuru waste (head and bones). This study was conducted to determine the growth of betta fish (Betta plendens) fed lemuru waste feed. The study was conducted with the control jar treatment, the treatment jar A using a dose of 3%, the treatment jar B using a dose of 6%, the treatment jar C using a dose of 9%. This research was conducted for 42 days. Betta fish growth in the form of absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate (SGR), survival rate (SR), feed conversion ratio (FCR). Water quality parameters measured in this study include temperature, pH and DO. The results of the ANOVA study showed that survival had no significant effect on fish growth, while absolute weight, absolute length, SGR and feed conversion ratio had a significant effect on the growth of betta fish. The water quality parameters measured included temperature ranging from 27.20 to 27.69 0C, DO with a range of 3.00-3.03mg/L and a pH of 6.60-6.68.

Abstract

Salt is one of the marine mineral products that has great potential in Indonesia. Salt production in Indonesia is mostly located on the island of Madura and the north coast of Java. Indonesia still imports salt to meet salt needs, especially for industrial salt needs. In increasing national salt production, one of the strategic steps that need to be taken is to increase the area of ??salt ponds in Indonesia. To increase the area of ??salt land, one important strategy is to open salt ponds outside the North Coast of Java and Madura Island. One alternative location is the beaches in the southern region of Java Island. Salt production on the South Coast of Java has not been done much. On the South Coast of Malang Regency, there is no salt production business. The creation of salt production in the South Coast of Malang Regency needs to be based on an analysis of market potential. This study aims to analyze the market potential of salt commodities in the South Coast of Malang Regency. This study is the first study to analyze the market potential for the development of salt production in the South Coast of Malang. The results of this study indicate that the main market potential for salt production in the South Coast of Malang is salt for fishery activities and salt for livestock. In addition, there is a potential market for salt education activities and consumption salt. Based on the results of this study, the development of the salt commodity market in the South Coast of Malang can be developed with a Niche Marketing approach.

Abstract

boesemani Rainbow fish (Melanotaenia boesemani) is one of the endemic freshwater ornamental fish species originating from Papua which has economic value. Rainbow fish cultivation techniques have now developed but there are not many publications so it is necessary to study the cultivation process, especially the hatchery stage. The research was conducted in August-October 2018 at the Ornamental Fish Cultivation Research Institute (BRBIH), Depok, West Java. This study aims to determine the effect of using different substrates on the rate of fertilization and hatching of Boesemani Rainbow Fish eggs. Data were collected by spawning male and female sires that had matured gonads 15 times with 3 treatments and 3 repetitions. The substrates used as media were treatment A (raffia rope), treatment B (palm fiber), and treatment C (apu-apu water plant). Water quality measurements include temperature, pH, DO. The data analysis technique used is the analysis of variance (ANOVA). Based on the measurement results, the total number of eggs with treatment A was 709 pieces, treatment B was 771 pieces, and Treatment C was 511 pieces. The highest percentage of fertilization rate was found in treatment B (98.4%±0.7). The highest percentage of hatching rate was found in treatment A (90.8%±5.6). The results of the analysis showed that the use of different substrates did not significantly affect the rate of fertilization and hatching of Boesemani Rainbow Fish eggs.

Abstract

Aquaculture activities leads to increase the nitrate and phosphate due to nutrient input from the leftover fish farming feed. Nitrate and phosphate enrichment can be minimized by using concept of aquaponics and growing aquatic plants around the cultivation area. This study tries to find out the fluctuation nitrate and fosfat value on tilapia fish growing given celery (Apium graveolens) in tilapia fish farm. Celery plants were planted with three different treatments, namely the plants were planted using a flannel wick, the roots touched the water surface, and submerged beyond the plant roots to the stems. The results of observations for 1 month showed the highest average growth rate of celery (A. graveolens) in treatment A and the lowest in treatment C. The highest relative growth was in treatment A and the lowest was in treatment C. The highest survival was found in A and the lowest was in treatment C. The best phosphate absorption was in treatment B with 0.32 mg/L, and the lowest was in treatment C with 0.00 mg/L. The best nitrate uptake was in treatment A with 0.66 mg/L, and the lowest was in treatment B with 0.84 mg/L. The results of the One-Way ANOVA statistical test with Duncan's follow-up test showed significantly different treatments for phosohate and nitrate.

Abstract

Bullet tuna (Auxis rochei) is a type of pelagic fish that has important economic value and is a source of livelihood for fishermen in the waters of Kedonganan, Badung, Bali. This study aims to determine the growth of bullet tuna (Auxis rochei) by analyzing the length frequency distribution, growth patterns, condition factors, age groups, and growth parameters. Sampling of bullet tuna was carried out from January to March 2021, as many as 6 times sampling with a span of once every 14 days. The total samples of bullet tuna obtained were 638 individuals. The distribution of the length distribution of bullet tuna is between 268-376 mm. The results showed that the growth pattern of male and female bullet tuna was negative allometric which indicated that the fish's length increased faster than its weight gain. The condition of bullet tuna in Kedonganan waters based on the results of the study showed that bullet tuna were in a less good condition. The value of the condition factor of the female bullet tuna decreased from January to March, while the condition factor of the male bullet tuna decreased only in February. There was a shift in the age group from observations 1 to 5 in the age group to the right, in contrast to observations from 5 to 6 there was no shift in age groups. The growth coefficient (K) of bullet tuna is 0.57 per year, where the asymptotic length is 387.07 mm and the theoretical age of fish at length 0 is -0.854. Based on the parameters of the growth coefficient, it can be seen that the annual growth of bullet tuna in Kedonganan waters is not fast and not large.
