Abstract

Astra International Tbk. Auto 2000 branch Kenjeran is a company department in sales, service and spare parts services. To evaluate the productivity in the service department for this time, it is necessary to measure productivity properly and correctly because productivity measures can be used as material for consideration in carrying out an upcoming productivity planning. This research was conducted in January-December 2013. The productivity method used is the Objective Matrix (OMAX) method. From the results of productivity measurements, it is known that the best productivity occurs in July, which is equal to 768.8, well above the standard value of 300. The worst productivity occurred in February, which amounted to equal 174,8. From the achievement of the score it can be seen that the criteria that do not contribute to the productivity index are criteria 1, namely the comparison between unit handling and the use of working hours because it has the smallest score to equal 47. The strategy for increasing productivity is to evaluate the causes of decreasing productivity in the lowest criteria.

Abstract

In line with the times, the need for product development ideas has a high selling value. Economic value and product efficiency are highly considered in the design, one of which is the design of a stall or café chair. In general, the most used seats are permanent. In other words, it can't adjust when used for a few people or for a lot of people. Therefore it is necessary to design stalls and café chairs that can be stretched or shortened automatically. The purpose of designing this elongated chair is, it can be arranged so that it can be shortened, with this advantage we can save space and expand the space and of course it will be designed according to consumer needs. The elongated chair is made using the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method. Some methods that must be done, namely the Voice of Customer collection phase, which is done by distributing questionnaires to 25 respondents. The next step is House of Quality based on the results of the questionnaire. After the HOQ is completed, then the analysis and implementation phase of the results obtained at HOQ will be applied to the product design.

Abstract

Industry revolution 4.0 era provides opportunities as well as threats for the students and alumni graduated from vocational education. Man roles are gradually taken by automatic machines. Consequently, unemployment is increasing. This certainly will contribute to the either local or national problems. Therefore, vocational education students have to intensify their learning achievements. This study discusses the learning achievements of the male and female students at the Shipbuiding Institute of Polytechnic Surabaya (PPNS) and Medan State Polytechnic (Polmed). The analysis of learning achievements in this study used the documentation data of the GPA in scale 4, taking the whole population either male (M) or female (F) in the academic year 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018. In the last three years, total PPNS’s graduates are 1959 (1418 male, 541 female) and Polmed’s are 5938 (2821 male, 3117 female). Based on the descriptive quantitative analysis, the average of learning achievements at PPNS shows that accumulated GPA of the female students’ is 3.39 > male students’ 3.28. While at Polmed, it is GPA of female students’ is 3.27 > male students’ 3.14. Total of students is still gender imbalance referring to the graduates data in year 2018 for PPNS’ Welding Study Program in which having only two female students with average GPA 3.41 and 53 students with average GPA 3.15, meanwhile at Polmed, the total students with largest gap in gender occured at the Mechanical Engineering Study Program with total of male students 240 (average GPA 3.10) and female students only 11 (average GPA 3.20). This result indicates that in these two vocational educational institutions, e.i. PPNS and Polmed, the learning achievement of female students is betterand more competitivable than the other

Abstract

PT IJS is a company engaged in logistics services in the Perak area of Surabaya. PT IJS was founded in 1984 when the need for container depots was urgently needed around the Tanjung Tanjung port area to unravel the shipping queues and shorten licensing. One of the services provided by PT IJS is bounded warehouse rental services. Bounded warehouse owned by PT IJS is currently not able to provide maximum service because there are still many late deliveries which do not result in the sending of goods to the port and there is a closing time that is detrimental to the customer. The length of the delivery process is due to several factors, one of which is a less effective company layout. Travel time is the time required for a vehicle to carry out goods loading activities at PT. IJS from arrival to exit company. Based on travel time calculations when using the initial layout, the travel time value of T = 2002 seconds. The weighted-distance method is a mathematical model used to evaluate the layout based on proximity factors. The design of the relayout design using the weighted-distance method produces alternative layouts that produce shorter travel time calculations, alternative layout with T = 1849 seconds.

Abstract

there is a previous study analyzing the design of ergonomic chairs for pond machine operators, where the analysis uses the RULA method manually, Based on the results of data processing with the RULA method, it can be concluded that the posture of the ring making operator (washer) operator with a slightly bent body position has a score value 5, and the chair design based on the redesign of the pond engine operator chair shows that the final result is 3. (Mukhtar, 2018) In this study, a productivity analysis is carried out to measure the level of chair productivity by considering several aspects of work activities, The method used is the Objective Matrix (OMAX) and the determination of the score from the performance appraisal using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. The results obtained are Productivity increased from before, because it is still in the range of 3-10 (based on the matrix table the score 3-5 is good enough, 6-8 good and 9-10 very good) and the lowest values shown in this table are 3 and 4 Based on the scores, the scores are still quite good. But there still must be improvement. Overall the level of productivity has increased compared to before. But there are still fluctuating data. This is due to the lack of uniformity in the ability of the opeator to run the pond engine in washer production.

Abstract

At present the use of wind energy in Indonesia is still relatively low, but has enormous potential. One reason is because the average wind speed in the territory of Indonesia is classified as low wind speed, which ranges from 3 m / s to 5 m / s making it difficult to produce electrical energy on a large scale. However, the wind potential in Indonesia is available almost all year long, making it possible to develop small-scale power generation systems. Innovations in modifying windmills need to be developed so that in conditions of low wind speeds can produce electrical energy. In this research, a prototype was developed by designing a vertical axis windmill power plant model Savonius using a permanent magnet generator, which can produce optimal electrical energy by utilizing relatively low wind speeds. From the generator test it was found that with a rotor rotation of 50 rpm up to 500 rpm can produce an electrical voltage of 0.02V to 10V and an electric current of 0.60A to 4.53A.
