Abstract

Coffe is one of the results of the commodity plantation that has a fairly high economic value among other crops and plays an important role as a source of foreign exchange, to create a taste of coffee and sold on the market, the important things are the selection of coffee beans and roasting processes. The tools currently existing are still roasted manually and semi-automatic. This research aims to design the tool automatic coffee roast system, analysis the feasibility roasted include capacity analysis.

Abstract

Biodiesel production from calophyllum inophyllum be obtained via esterification and transesterification, using two continuous reactors with catalyst NaOH at a concentration (0.4 ;0.6,0.8; 1) wt%, calophyllum inophyllum seed oil and reaction temperature (40, 50,60)oC. This research was to determine the effect of catalyst amount and reaction temperature on transesterification of calophyllum inophyllum seed toward yield Fatty Acid Methyl Ester . The last step is analysis yield of Fatty Acid Methyl Ester with Gas Chromatography (GC). The highest yield is obtained on the amount of 1% NaOH catalyst and at a temperature of 60oC with yield of 87.036%.

Abstract

In an increasingly advanced era, allproperty or home furniture is required to have arenewable innovation and efficiency. This is becauseproperty or home furniture currently has a very largemass or size. Large furniture sizes such as chairs andtables have an average area of 500cm2. Almost 90% ofIndonesian people have tables and chairs as the contentsof their household furniture. Not only functioned athome, in restaurants, cafes, malls, offices, in parks andall places where if there is interaction between humans, there must be chairs and tables as places for interaction. But sometimes the owners of chairs and tables oftencomplain about the size of the tables and chairs, so they need a large enough area to place these two items. Theproblem that exists in society today is the narrowing ofempty land in one place. Sometimes there is homefurniture that is not ergonomic, such as a chair that istoo high, a table that is too low and so on. By using thisanthopometric method, the measurements obtainedinclude a chair along the 95th percentile 25 cm, chairlength 33 cm 95th percentile, table length 68 cm 5thpercentile, chair height 39 cm 5th percentile, table height69 cm 5th percentile, and finally lower surface height. atable of 54 cm on the 95th percentile, and it is hoped thatthe manufacture of a chair flexibility table productdesign can overcome all the problems of land limitationsthat exist in today's society.

Abstract

Recently, the development of nanoparticle nickel oxide has increased due to their potential application such as biosensors, catalysts, solar cells, supercapacitors, and batteries. In this work, the addition of CTAB for nickel oxide nanoparticle synthesis using electrolysis was investigated.  The nickel plates were used as anode and cathode in the electrolysis process. The process was operated at a constant voltage of 60 V for 30 minutes. The XRD result showed conformity with the Nickel oxide diffraction pattern. Meanwhile, the impurity from nickel hydroxide peaks still appeared. From FTIR characterization also indicates the band of Ni-O stretching vibration. The morphology characterization of nickel oxide using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed the nanotube structure, while Transmission Electron Microscopy showed the nanoparticle size from 250.44 to 325.60 nm in length. On the other hand, the transformation of Ni(OH)2 to NiO has been shown using TGA characterization.

Abstract

Water is an important supporting factor in humanlife. The problem of clean water in an area is managed by Perusahaan Daerah Air Minum (PDAM) Surabaya. PDAM Surya Sembada as a water management company in Surabaya is expected to be able to distributethe needs of clean water, however, in the distribution network, sometimes experiencing problems that cause water is not fully channeled to the customer, to overcome this problem, the Causal Loop Diagram approach is used to identify the cause of the water loss, after knowing these factors, we have been made model with Causal Loop model,to calculate the water loss that occurred, in PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya especially DMA 109 using Infrastructure Leakage Index (ILI) method. The Causal Loop Diagram approach, various causes of water loss include: physical water loss caused by reservoir leakage, transmission line leakage and distribution pipeline leakage; non physical water loss caused by meter fault, wild connection and water theft. Based on the data obtained, obtained NRW value at DMA 109 of 439.455.72 m3 / year or by 25% with a loss of 329.591.8 m3 / year. Service pipe leakage up to the customer meter is 1.757.822.8 m3 / year.

Abstract

Utilization of rice husks in Indonesia in general is still very limited. Utilization of silica contained in rice husk ash, which has been used, among others, in the manufacture of sodium silicate. Silica compounds themselves can be used in and manufacturing basic materials for electronic and ceramic equipment, glass, rubber, cosmetic products, and pharmaceuticals. The addition of Mg can increase the silica content (SiO2) in rice husk ash. The best results show an effective Mg ratio of Mg addition to increase silica content is 1: 1. produces the highest amount of silica which is 58.12% of the rice husk ash with a size of 140 mesh

Abstract

Solar panels are semiconductor elements that can convert solar energy into electrical energy. This Research on Solar Power Plants (PLTS) assemble with materials such as solar panels, 3000 W inverters, batteries, relays and control chargers, after that the load calculations are carried out, then implementation and testing is carried out. This research also aims as a renewable electric power in the future. From the results of the PLTS load test carried out at the researcher's house, the highest load was 405.32 watts, while the highest load test results used PLN electricity, which was 267.06 watts. So it can be said that this research is successful in meeting the electricity needs of household scale.

Abstract

Nickel hydroxide Ni(OH)2  nanoparticles were used as sensors for mercury (Hg) in water using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer instrument. The synthesis of Ni(OH)2  nanoparticles was carried out by electrochemical method using nickel plates as anode and cathode and  the process was operated at  constant voltage of 25 V for 30 minutes. In this study, 2 variations of the concentration of Ni(OH)2  nanoparticles were used, namely (5 mL and 4 mL) to detect mercury at concentrations of 0 ppm, 10 ppm, 20 ppm, 30 ppm, 40 ppm, and 50 ppm. Changes in the absorbance value of Ni(OH)2  nanoparticles will be observed. From the observations, there was a decrease in the absorbance value of Ni(OH)2  nanoparticles along with the increase in mercury concentration. The decrease in the absorbance value of Ni(OH)2  nanoparticles is directly proportional to the amount of mercury concentration. The detection limit value was obtained at a volume of 5 mL and 4 mL are 42 ppm, and 75.8  ppm.
