Abstract

This study explores Mukti Ali’s thoughts and contributions to Inter-religious harmony. Thoughts by Mukti Ali were discussed the harmony among religious believers, including comparative religion, the concept of agreeing in disagreement, and inter-religious dialogue, all anchored to the doctrine of Islam rahmat li al-’alamin. Mukti Ali pioneered interfaith dialogue as well-known moderate, dialogue, and respect for pluralism, improving justice and peace, understanding each other, and respecting each other within the frame of national unity. Throughout his life, Mukti Ali was known as a staunch Islamic thinker to fight for inter-religious harmony in Indonesia. The whole struggle and contribution in interreligious harmony at least touch some aspects; those are the scientific aspects and social relations. His persistence has a strong theological foundation. Her eagerness Mukti Ali was also known as the father of national harmony in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the Islamic reform project through the reconstruction of theology and thought carried out by Ḥassan Ḥanafī and Indonesian Muslim intellectuals. Ḥassan Ḥanafī considered the need to reconstruct classical theology, which is regarded as too abstract in describing theological terms and does not have a strong practical basis as a value for the action. In criticizing classical theology, Ḥassan Ḥanafī offers two theocentric theories, namely language analysis, and social reality analysis. Conducting library research that relies on written materials and analyzed with content analysis techniques, the present study shows that Ḥassan Ḥanafī’s theoanthropocentric theological ideas have intersections with the development of Islamic thought in Indonesia. This can be proven by the translation of Ḥassan Ḥanafī’s books and examining his thoughts in Indonesia. Apart from that, Ḥassan Ḥanafī’s thoughts find relevance in Indonesia because Indonesian Muslim scholars carry out similar reform projects.

Abstract

The research data was collected by documenting qualitative data from various literature related to the concept of the establishment of the State Ideal / Main (al-Madīnah al-Fāḍilah). This study takes the idea or the idea of a character famous Muslim philosopher who is considered as a reference in the conduct of a concept study. The obtained and analyzed by using a historical approach to find an appropriate concept for establishing a State Ideal / Main. From the results of this study, a description of the establishment of a country must have an idea of thought in creating an Ideal State. This research can not be separated from scholarly Muslims as al-Fārābī, which may explain how a country is considered excellent and good enough for the people who feel it. The concept of forming the state of the ideal is described as the role of religion, morality, and society in the formation of a highly sustainable state to achieve a state of desire in the establishment of the ideal.

Abstract

Jamā‘ah mastūrah is jamā‘ah tablīgh women who take part in da‘wah activities. jamā‘ah mastūrah has different propaganda methods from the usual by the dāi (preacher man) and dā’iyah (female preachers) in general who preached in front of an audience. The method of preaching the jamā‘ah mastūrah is fardiyah, which is individual preaching to other women. This study aims to understand the roles of jamā‘ah mastūrah in preaching activities in Aceh Besar and how their da‘wah (athar) tothe community is the object of da‘wah (mad‘ū). This article results from field research conducted at three locations: Gampong Luthu, Gampong Cot Goh, and Gampong Neuheun in Aceh Besar. Data collection was through interviews and documentation studies. The findings are twofold: first, jamā‘ah mastūrah role as da‘I well in conveying Islam to fellow women. The material of the da‘wah they convey is mainly related to orders to cover the awrat, abandon bad behavior, and invite them to attend recitation (ta‘lim mastūrah); second, the effect of da‘wah (athar) takes a relatively long time.

Abstract

The tradition is something that is present and accompanies contemporary ours, which comes from the past, or could be said of all that is human-related to aspects of thought in Islamic civilization, ranging from the teaching of the doctrinal, shariah, language, literature, art, pen, and sufism. Modern not to break with the past but to upgrade the attitude and stance by assuming the pattern of our relationship with tradition in modern culture. The relation of tradition and modernity, according to al-Jābirī was keeping the good old traditions and take a new tradition better that is, the tradition was reconstructed to internalize the contemporary thoughts. Al-Jābirī strongly emphasized contemporary Arab thoughts (bayani, 'irfani, burhani) as a way to confront modernity. The idea's important contribution is to introduce to us the various constructs reasoning developed in the Islamic world.

Abstract

This thesis research aims to find out what causes LGBT, how they behave, and to find out how the state’s politics towards LGBT existence, especially in Medan City. The study results explain that the causes of LGBT in Medan City are influenced by two factors, namely internal and external. Internal factors arise because of the individual's encouragement and willingness to shape one’s character and external factors that come from outside the individual, which can encourage someone to have free sex caused by aspects of family and relationships.
