Abstract

The Balinese Hindu community interpret life as a process of transformation that must always be interpreted and treated. According to the beliefs of the Balinese Hindu community, the process of the life cycle to achieve the perfection of life must go through various stages of the procession of the ceremony (the ceremony of manusa yadnya). Life cycle ceremony processions carried out since the fetus is still in the womb, born, large, adult, old, even to death. It is believed that it is not only the body that needs nutritionally complete and balanced food in its growth and development. Spiritual must also be given spiritual food to build spiritual growth itself toward a healthy, strong and steady spirit. The life cycle ceremony process is a process of spiritual self cleansing to lead to physical and spiritual purity. In the Book of Manawa Dharmasastra the life cycle ceremony process is stated as samskara sarira. Sarira samkara means a ceremony to increase the sanctity of one's body through the process of yadnya (holy sacrifice) ceremony. To achieve this increase should be balanced growth between the body (sarira) physical and spiritual. Corresponding to that, then studying the ceremonial procession and the meaning of the ceremony procession of the Hindu Balinese human life cycle is something very urgent.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between the effectiveness of the risk committee, political relations and company performance in the banking industry in Indonesia which is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The data were obtained using purposive sampling, so that 41 companies were obtained for 2017 to 2019 using the Stata analysis tool. The results of this study indicate a significant positive effect between the total risk committee members on company performance as proxied by ROA. In addition, the existence of a political relationship as a moderator indicates a negative influence between the number of meetings and concurrent positions in the risk committee on company performance with the proxy of ROA. In order to improve company performance, the risk committee must increase the number of members in the risk committee so that they can exchange ideas to solve company problems. Furthermore, political relations have a negative impact on company performance. Spending more money to win business projects and government licensing can increase costs which can directly reduce company performance.

The rapid growth of the tourism sector has made the government committed to implementing the principle of sustainable tourism development. To develop regional tourism, it is relatively necessary to direct, integrated, cross-sectoral, and sustainable programs so that the economic benefits of tourism are increasingly felt evenly distributed by the community. Bali, popular as one of the most tourist destinations in the world, is used as an example for the development of a national destination by the Indonesian government by creating 10 new Bali destinations, but this scheme must be postponed due to the covid-19 outbreak that hit Indonesia. This study aims to explore the sustainable tourism strategy in Bali’s village tourism sector using a qualitative approach based on content analysis based on secondary data since Bali has the largest number of village tourism in Indonesia using the Penta-helix model (synergy between academic, business, community, government, and media). With the synergy and collaboration of these five central sectors (especially during decreasing tourism sector of coronavirus outbreak), it is expected to increase awareness and maximizing the potential among the public regarding Bali sustainable tourism.
