Abstract

The study aims to developResource-Consumption Accounting (RCA) by transforming the activities embodied in this approach fromtherigid multiple driversto aflexible unique time-driven driver by support pf supply chain management (SCM). This developmentis intended to overcome the criticisms directed at RCA,activating its role firstly in real cost reduction according to the production capacity mechanism and, secondly, in supply chain management support. The study adopts a theoretical descriptive approach, conceivingthe positives of RCA, Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing in an attempt to create a new approach that integrates the advantages of both approaches in order to reduce cost. It is concluded that Time-Driven Resource-Consumption Accounting (TDRCA) can lead to a real cost reduction and at the same timesupport supply chain management.

Abstract

Competitive strategies are essentially designed to exploit the competitive advantage of the organization. The competitive strategy is in business practices to attract customers by meeting their expectations, facing competitive pressures and enhancing market positioning. It is noted that the choice of competitive strategy and supply chain management affects the performance of the company, whether financial or non-financial and that the Iraqi financial system consists of a wide range of institutions that have been listed in the Iraqi market for securities. In the fierce market competition, the transformation of market competition based on price and quality of the original product competition gradually shifts to the time of the supply chain competition, which makes scholars begin to study the supply chain based on time competition and enterprises especially in automobile industry begin to explore suitable time-based supply chain. The aim of this study is to assess the relationship between the performance of the financial sector companies listed in the Iraqi market for securities and the supply chain impacts on competitive strategies adopted in the last three years. A questionnaire was the main tool used to collect primary data while secondary data were used to supplement the main tool and the results were analyzed using regression analysis. The study found that companies have improved along organizational performance requirements measured across different indicators.Performance has been guided by both financial and non-financial performance measures. The study concluded that the performance was determined to some extent by different strategies adopted by each firm in its operations over the past three years and that there was no specific single strategy, but was often a combination of many competitive strategies. The study recommends expanding its market coverage with different products. It is also recommended that the government also protects the financial sector companies listed in the national labor market from intense competition from international companies through international policies.

Abstract

Supply chain management (SCM) has assumed a leading operations strategy position in both manufacturing and service industries, and over the past 10 years companies have seriously implemented supply chain management strategies in their organizations. knowledge management(KM) is a major enabler of supply chain management, and is a critical element in information intensive and multi-cultured enterprise environments. The present study aimed to investigate the role of KM tactical factors in gaining competitive advantage in organizations. For this purpose, four tactical factors of KM (knowledge acquisition, knowledge sharing, learning from KM process, and knowledge application) and five indicators of gaining competitive advantage (timely supply of products) were studied and the relationships between them were analyzed. The statistical findings confirmed the effect of KMtactical factors on gaining competitive advantage. In addition, the results indicated that KM process should be scientifically implemented by using experts to gain competitive advantage. Creating the necessary infrastructures and appropriate acculturalization seem essential.

Abstract

Research positioned in the intersection between management accounting and supply chain management is increasing. So, the core purpose of this research study is to identify the range of harmonization between theoretical concepts of Intellectual Capital (IC) around the three aspects and empirical practices required from international and local accounting standards (IAS). The current research follows the positivist paradigm and quantitative in nature. Secondary data was used to measure the compatibility between the theoretical concepts of intellectual capital and the items that were accepted in international accounting standards across ratios, and to test these variables with TIST between the average actual practices of companies and the objective value (theoretical concepts of intellectual capital). The items will later include the items in the International Accounting Standards and the actual practices of telecommunications companies in Iraq. The results show that there are significant differences between the theoretical concepts of IC in International Accounting and Reporting Standards - IAS 38. The areas where there is no match related to items that do not meet the condition of the concept of assets or do not achieve the rules of proof of accounting or measured to be reliable. The results were derived from the analysis of the financial statements of Zain and Asia Cell and its annual reports, including analytical tables and explanatory notes. The confidentiality of some data related to the work of companies is one of the difficulties of conducting such research, as some of these data are linked to the competitiveness of companies and tax matters, as well as the lack of companies operating in this sector in Iraq. This research is the first modest attempt on social environment of Iraqi knowledge economy, which represents telecommunications companies one of its components and associated components of intellectual capital. This study makes a contribution to the literature by conceptualizing the elements of management accounting in a context of the supply chain and by relating it to supply chain strategy and supply chain relationship structure.

Abstract

Social responsibility has achieved tremendous attention by academicians and practitioners to focus on social responsibility accounting. However, many studies around the globe have been conduct to measure the outcomes of social responsibility accounting. This paper presents the impact of applying the supply chain strategy (SCS) on the agribusiness field to optimize productivity and decreasing cost which will have a direct impact on the net income of the organization. The inconclusive results of earlier studies stimulated this research to social responsibility accounting-financial performance. The equivocal results of this phenomenon urge this study to investigate the role of other factors in the relationship of social responsibility accounting and financial performance. For the reason, this study examines the mediating role of firm’s advertisement for CSR activities to spread awareness among society and stakeholders. The results of this study revealed that CSR advertisement plays a very important role to build positive perception about social activities among stakeholders and society. The mediation test of Barron and Kenny illustrated that the relationship between social responsibility accounting and financial performance became insignificant when mediating variable CSR advertisement measured by advertisement cost was statistically controlled. This proves that CSR advertisement is necessary for firm to convey message to its stakeholders and society about social activities initiatives. The Firms can only receive true benefits of social responsibility accounting when stakeholders and society are fully aware of CSR initiatives of firms. The findings of this study provide the new insights for literature on social responsibility accounting. Moreover, the firms should focus on preparing social performance reports to inculcate in annual reports. Similarly managers can draw guideline while making business strategy to incorporate social responsibility accounting to obtain fruitful benefits.

Abstract

The article discusses the issues of creating a solid fodder basis for keeping livestock in the personal subsidiary farm of the rural population based on supply chain strategy. The analysis of the use of pastures on fixed lands of settlements has been conducted based on the example of five regions of Kazakhstan and a number of rural districts. A huge shortage of pastures in the territories of rural settlements and a discrepancy between the livestock population of the households and the level of their feed supply have been revealed. The assessment of the current regulatory and legislative framework and prospects for the organizational and economic use of these territories is presented. The necessity of regulating the use of pastures through the application of standards for limiting the livestock management per one household, the system of pasture rotation and radical improvement of pastures, allocation of additional areas at the expense of reserve lands, development of cooperation have been justified.

Abstract

The article analyzes significant changes that have taken place in the development of the rural sector of Ukraine by sustainable supply chain development, which includes two components: agrarian (agriculture and technologically related industries) and rural areas (spatial base of production and resettlement of the population) of the second half of the last century. Current problems are revealed and the prospects of the rural sector functioning, through the prism of different concepts of productive forces development, are outlined. The problems are analyzed and prospects of rural sector functioning in various conceptions of productive forces development are outlined. The objective preconditions are outlined and the negative tendencies in the actions of the government bodies related to the agricultural sector in the conditions of the planned, transitional and market economy are revealed. The important role of the rural sector components, namely the rural economy and the living environment of the rural population, in the theory of complementary agrarian and rural development is substantiated. Thus, taking into account the negative tendency, economy development oriented to agriculture is seen in the following aspects: the diversity of industries and products, the placement of nonagricultural production facilities, regeneration of livestock sectors, the organization of crop products cultivation with a high proportion of manual labor, the introduction of agrarian logistics modern methods etc. At the same time, agricultural development is seen in solving the problems of the rural population through the use of the resource potential of the united territorial communities, as well as at the initiative of rural (domestic) communities in order to eliminate asymmetry and qualitative improvement of the living environment by increasing the availability of basic services for inhabitants of settlements which are not UTC centers (UTC – united territorial communities). It is proved that the state agrarian policy at the present stage should be based on scientifically grounded, balanced (or proportional, depending on the particular situation) and mutually reinforcing combination of two directions of its implementation – sectoral and territorial (or agrarian and rural development), that is, complementarity.

Abstract

This article develops an approach to forming innovative development clusters in Kazakhstan’s chemical industry as an opportunity to promote the effectiveness of the sector’s development and to increase its competitive advantage based on the supply chain management. An expert evaluation method is used to form a system of indicators for assessing innovative development in the country’s regional chemical industry. A scaling technique was also incorporated to distinguish these clusters according to the quality levels of innovative development among the chemical industry regions in a modern context, with industrial gas production as an example. Two chemical clusters of innovative development in Kazakhstan’s regions were formed though a cluster analysis – and their economic efficiency substantiated – using multivariate linear regression modeling. The efficiency from creating Chemical Cluster No. 0 for innovative development indicates that its total regional product would grow by 0.68%, while Cluster 5 exhibited an efficiency of 4.23%. The presented methodological approach is based on a horizontal integration of the manufacturers and suppliers of chemical products, and considers specific characteristics of the industry’s operation; this allows for the creation of chemical clusters with highly efficient communication in the innovation process. The research findings contribute to modernizing the country’s chemical industry and increasing its competitive capacity in the international market.
