Abstract

The phenomenon of the character of shame (al-haya’) is now very factual. The culture of shame slowly began to disappear with the global process of assimilation, the shameless character of the eastern culture began to adopt the character of western culture which resulted in the loss of shame. The impact of the loss of shame in a person is that all of his behavior is difficult to control and will commit a variety of dishonorable acts such as corruption, cheating, cheating, displaying the genitals with sexy and mini clothes, adultery, drunkenness, piracy, sexual harassment, murder and others. While Islam strongly emphasizes the character of shame as a good moral. This study aims to see how the concept of al-haya 'in the perspective of Islamic psychology through conceptual and empirical studies. The study in this study was carried out with two events namely, the first with a literature review and the second an empirical study. Literature studies include the study of the verses of the Koran, Hadith and opinions of Islamic leaders who discuss al-haya '. The second study is through an empirical way by conducting interviews with 2 Ustadz and 3 students majoring in Sufism and Psychotherapy who have successfully applied al-haya 'in their daily lives. This research is included in qualitative research with a grounded theory design. The results showed that al-haya 'which is interpreted by the research subjects is almost the same as what is contained in Islamic studies. Al-haya ’is a shame that is driven by respect and aversion to something that is seen as insulting or violating the principles of sharia. People who have the character of al-haya 'are those who want to do something deed but then undo their intentions because there are bad consequences that can reduce the dignity of himself in the eyes of respected people

Abstract

Individuals diagnosed with heart disease, especially at young people will cause psychological burden because they have to do long-term treatment, even last a lifetime with various risks that accompany, so that it will reduce subjective well-being for sufferers. The hypothesis of this study is subjective well-being of people with heart disease increases after receiving Gratitude Training. This study uses one group pretest-posttest with follow-up design. The measurement of subjective well-being is done by using SWLS and PANAS in Indonesian version. Gratitude training is given to individuals diagnosed with heart disease at productive age, 20-45 years (n = 5). Subjects attended the Gratitude Training 2 times online meetings. The analysis used in this study, the Friedman Test which showed significant results (χr2 = 8.4; p <0.05). These results indicate that the Gratitude Training in this study was proven to improve subjective well-being in people with heart disease.

Abstract

Children’s emotional competence will affect their psychosocial health. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of emotional competency (expression and understanding) in preschool children (aged 4-5 years) in kindergarten “X” Jatinangor. This research uses qualitative method with a case study approach. The research subjects were children aged 4-5 years who attended kindergarten ‘X” Jatinangor. The research instrument used interviews and observations of the subject as the main participants and interviews with parents amd teachers as secondary participants. Data analysis used thematic analysis. This Study found that emotional competence which includes the subject’s ability to express and understand emotions as follows: all subjects could express emotion nonverbally, but not all subjects were able to express emotions they felt verbally and all subjects could understand the emotions that are felt but were still limited in labeling emotions appropriately. Associated with children’s limitations in emotional labelling, parents and teachers need to provide an understanding of emotional labels felt by children.

Abstract

Literature or books is one of media that used to obtain information, knowledge and self-development. In addition literature also can be used to improve self development, especially teenagers. It becaused some teenagers has not optimize on improving  their selves. They still have lack of interpersonal skills that make them difficult to do good  adaption in their social environment. Bibliotherapy or or reading therapy is one alternative in dealing with self-development problems. In this way teenagers are expected to develop a more positive sense of themselves, provide insights into a problem, stimulate discussion of problems, provide solutions to problems, communicate new values and attitudes, and discover meaning in life. The choosen process of literature literature based on what problem  faced. The goal is the process of reading therapy  in order improving  teenagers interpersonal skills maximized. In addition, the application of bibliotherapy also consider the interests and learning styles that are owned by teenagers.Bibliotherapy is very effective therapy  for improving understanding and adding insight into teenagers  according to reading material. Through bibliotherapy, teenagers  are expected to find insight over obstacles their selves develompment to improve better interpersonal skills.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe antisocial behavior in an Islamic perspective. Using qualitative methods in library research. Compile from various sources of relevant literature to find theories, propositions, principles, ideas, and opinions. Literary data is collected using the documentation method, so researchers get information not from several people as speakers, but from various written sources. This study reviews antisocial behavior from written documents in the form of published research and relevant books. While the study of Islamic view of this behavior is discussed through several propositions from the Koran and the Hadith. This research shows that antisocial behavior is not in line with the teachings of Islam because Islam through the Koran and Hadith asks each adherent to ta'aruf (know each other), interact with each other by promoting the ability of socialization, attitudes and good communication, while antisocial behavior is contrary to the principle.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the motivation for Muslim women to veil and their responses to negative stereotypes directed at veil users. This research is qualitative research with a case study approach. Semi-structured interviews were given to fourteen participants as a data collection technique. The data analysis in this study used three stages; data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that mostly the veiled motivation is intrinsic motivation which is a form of religious expression from the participants and also as an effort to guard against the opposite sex. While their response to negative stereotypes is indifference and positive thinking.

Abstract

Prosocial behaviour is the form of behaviour that benefit others in the sense of material, physical and psychological, which is done on its own initiative without any specific motives. Prosocial behaviour is important for adolescents because of the need to be accepted by their social environment. The purpose of the study was to gather information regarding the role of self concept and emotional intelligence towards prosocial behaviour of adolescents. The subjects in this research is adolescents which currently are studying in senior high school in Denpasar. The sample consists of 107 people. The results of multiple regression test shows that self concept and emotional intelligence has a role towards prosocial behaviour of adolescents by 37,7% with significance of 0,000 (p<0,05).
