Abstract

Purple sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) is a tuber that has purple meat and skin. The purple color of purple sweet potato is usually used by the community as a food coloring, while the sweet potato skin is considered only waste and disposed of. This study aims to determine whether purple sweet potato skin extract can be used as an alternative dye on microscopic observations of Paramecium sp. The research used experimental approach with post test only control group design. The process of purple sweet potato skin extraction using chemical solvents is ethanol, acetic acid and water. The extractions with three treatments were A, B, and C respectively different ratios (25: 1: 5), (15: 1: 15) and (5: 1:25). The results of microscopic observations quantitatively analyzed using Anova One Way test obtained sign. 0.05 which means the purple sweet potato skin extraction results can be used as an alternative dye for microscopic observation of Paramecium sp. Qualitative analysis of the results of observations in which treatment A shows the best dye results in coloring Paramecium sp.

Abstract

Efforts to increase the growth and yield of soybean plants can be done through the use of cultivation technology,  namely  by  providing  biological  fertilizer  treatments  such   as  N-fixing  bacteria,  namely Rhizobium. The study aims to determine the effect of the right Rhizobium dose and type of NPK fertilizer on the growth of the Anjasmoro variety of soybean (Glycine max). This research uses a factorial randomized block design with two factors and three repetitions. The first factor is Rhizobium inoculation consisting of I0: No inoculum, I1: Rhizobium inoculum (5 g / kg seed), I2: Rhizobium inoculum (7 g / kg seed), I3: Rhizobium inoculum (9 g / kg seed). The second factor is the type of NPK fertilizer, namely P0: No fertilizer, P1: solid NPK fertilizer (0.8 g / plant), P2: liquid NPK fertilizer. The results showed that the dose of Rhizobium that could affect soybean growth was a dose of 9 grams/kg of seed that significantly affect ed the number of leaves and leaf color but did not significantly affect plant height, number of branches, number of root nodules and root nodules weight. NPK fertilizer that can affect soybean growth is liquid NPK fertilizer, and only has a significant effect on leaf color. The interaction of Rhizobium inoculation treatment and NPK fertilizer types significantly affected most parameters but did not significantly affect the number of branches and weight of root nodules.

Abstract

Birds are living organisms classified into the Kingdom Animalia, phylum Aves and including organisms that possess similar characteristics with body cover in the form of feathers and can fly. The aim of this study was to determine the diversity of bird species found in Pasui Village, Buntu Batu District, Enrekang Regency. This research was conducted at Pasui watershed. Birdwatching is done by cruising method at three different stations. The results of this study found 14 bird species classified into 5 orders, 11 families and 13 genera. The bird species obtained are Haliastur indus, Collocalia esculenta, Egretta alba, Chalcophaps indica longirostris, Streptopelia chinensin, Corvus enca, Dicaeum aureolimbatum, Eruthrura hyperythra, Lonchura Malacca, Lonchura punctulata, Passer montanus, Pycnonotus aurigaster, Acridontheres javanicus, Zosterops pelpepbrosus.

Abstract

Mount Ungaran has a high varied vegetation which includes medicinal plants. The purpose of this study is to know the types of medicinal plants found in the hiking trails of Mount Ungaran. The method used in this research is the cruising method. The object of research was spermatophyta medicinal plants. Data collection techniques used in this study are observation, characterization and document review. The results of the study obtained 43 types of medicinal plants belonging to 30 families with the most families were Asteraceae family with the number of 5 species. But unfortunately these plants have not been maximally utilized by the surrounding community due to lack of community knowledge about the potential of these plants and their use especially as a medicinal plants.

Abstract

Brek fish (Barbonymus balleroides) is a consumption, fish that is widely used by people around the River. The population has started to decline, but not yet cultivated. Therefore, research has been conducted as a basis for its domestication, including growth patterns and condition factor of Brek Fish. The total length (TL) of each individual was measured using a digital caliper with an accuracy of 0.05 mm, while the body weight was weighed using an analytical scale with an accuracy of 0.0001 g. the data obtained were analyzed by linear regression found in the microsoft excel program. The results showed that the growth pattern of brek fish was allometric negative, the average condition factor value of brek fish (B. balleroides) was 1.026. The author hopes this research can be used as basic biological information to support the conservation of Brek Fish (B. ballerodes).
