Abstract

This study aims to develop and describe feasibility a Four-tier diagnostic test instrument to figure out students' misconceptions in the material of the Excretion System.This study aims to develop a Four-tier diagnostic test instrument to figure out students' misconceptions in the material of the Excretion System. The type of this study is R & D (Research and Development) from Sugiyono (2017) with 10 stages. Those 10 stages are identification of potential and problems, data collection, product design, product validation, design revisions, product trials, product revisions, usage trials, product revisions and mass production. The trial subjects were students of class XII MIPA 3 (Test instrument), class XI MIPA 2 (product trial) and class XI MIPA 1 and class XI MIPA 4 (trial use) SMA Negeri 1 Mayong Jepara. This study used observation, documentation, questionnaire, interview and test as research method. First finding, the Four-Tier Diagnostic Test consists of four levels; the question, the level of answer confidence, reason and level of reasoning confidence. The instruments produced include grids, work instructions, test questions, answer keys, answer sheets, scoring guidelines and results interpretation guidelines. Second finding, the results showed that the Four-tier diagnostic test instrument was feasible to be used to reveal student misconceptions. Validity testing by 9 validators shows that the instrument developed is valid. Test validity shows 7 valid category questions, 16 invalid category questions. Test reliability developed by 0.699 means that the problem is reliable. Characteristics of the questions developed were (1) Difficulty level (2 difficult questions, 10 moderate questions, 8 easy questions and 3 very easy questions), (2) Different Power (2 good questions, 17 enough questions and 4 bad questions), and ( 3) Foolers can function properly. There are 41 misconceptions from 13 sub-topics developed.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an encyclopedia of biological laboratory equipment and to find out the feasibility of the encyclopedia of biological laboratory equipment developed as a biology learning resource for high school students. This study included research and development (R & D) using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) developed by Reiser and Mollenda in the 1990s. This research is limited only to the implementation stage (limited or small scale implementation), then limited testing is conducted to 1 material expert, 1 media expert, 2 biology teachers and 4 peer reviewers and 20 students' responses to the product developed to determine the quality/feasibility of the product. The research instrument was in the form of a check list questionnaire using a Likert scale. The design of this study uses a descriptive qualitative research design with the type of data in the form of qualitative and quantitative data to determine the quality/feasibility of the product being developed. the results showed that: encyclopedia products of biology laboratory equipment were developed with the ADDIE model. The quality/feasibility of the encyclopedia is developed based on the assessment of material experts with a percentage of 80% including the good category (B); media experts at 85.6% including the excellent category (SB); biology teachers at 91% including the excellent category (SB); peer reviewers at 86.8% including the excellent category (SB); and student responses of 87.6% included very feasible categories. Thus it can be concluded that the encyclopedia of biological laboratory equipment developed having very decent quality is used as a reference for teachers in biology laboratory as well as can be used by high school students as one of the learning resources of biology.

Abstract

Upaya pengembangan modul biologi berbasis kearifan lokal masih belum banyak digunakan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah.  Salah satu sekolah yang belum menggunakan modul mata pelajaran biologi yang berbasis kearifan lokal ialah SMA Negeri 16 Semarang. SMA Negeri 16 Semarang pada tahun 2016 telah memperoleh penghargaan sebagai sekolah Adiwiyata, yaitu sekolah yang mampu menerapkan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan yang ada di sekitarnya. Oleh karenanya sebagai sekolah berwawasan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan diperlukan adanya modul pembelajaran biologi berbasis kearifan lokal sekitar untuk dapat diterapkan dalam lingkungan sekolah. Salah satu upaya mewujudkan hal tersebut, maka diperlukan pengembangan modul ekosistem berbasis kearifan lokal di Kawasan Wisata Goa Kreo.  Dari penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan sumber belajar peserta didik, mampu memberikan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal kepada peserta didik, serta sebagai upaya menjaga kelestarian tradisi alam sekitar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul materi ekosistem yang telah dikembangkan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode Research and Development, mengacu pada model 4D (define, design, develop, dan dessiminate) Thiagarajan. Hasil pengembangan sangat layak digunakan delam pembelajaran, hal tersebut berdasarkan pada penilaian kualitas modul oleh ahli materi dengan presentase sebesar 84,54 persen, ahli modul dengan presentase sebesar 93.34 persen, guru mata pelajaran biologi dengan presentase sebesar 90,23 persen, dan menurut tanggapan peserta didik dengan presentase sebesar 97,2 persen. Berdasarkan penilaian tersebut maka modul yang dikembangkan sangat layak untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Purple sweet potato (Ipomea batatas L.) is a tuber that has purple meat and skin. The purple color of purple sweet potato is usually used by the community as a food coloring, while the sweet potato skin is considered only waste and disposed of. This study aims to determine whether purple sweet potato skin extract can be used as an alternative dye on microscopic observations of Paramecium sp. The research used experimental approach with post test only control group design. The process of purple sweet potato skin extraction using chemical solvents is ethanol, acetic acid and water. The extractions with three treatments were A, B, and C respectively different ratios (25: 1: 5), (15: 1: 15) and (5: 1:25). The results of microscopic observations quantitatively analyzed using Anova One Way test obtained sign. > 0.05 which means the purple sweet potato skin extraction results can be used as an alternative dye for microscopic observation of Paramecium sp. Qualitative analysis of the results of observations in which treatment A shows the best dye results in coloring Paramecium sp.

Abstract

Kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan model dan media pembelajaran diperlukan untuk meningkatkan minat, keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model pembelajaran Stay and Stray dengan media Flashcard terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pernapasan di kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Semarang. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen dengan desain Quasi eksperimen Pre-test and Post-test group design. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan pada kelas XI IPA 4 dan XI IPA 8 menggunakan 2 metode, yaitu metode tes dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen adalah 93,5 dan kelas kontrol adalah 79,25. Data yang diperoleh adalah thitung = 8,699 dan ttabel= 1,669, karena thitung>ttabel maka Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Stay and Stray dengan media Flashcard pada materi sistem pernapasan terbukti efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 5 Semarang.

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan informasi tentang ikan gelodok bermuatan unity of science. Sumber belajar menjadi sarana alternatif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi ikan gelodok pada perkuliahan zoology vertebrata. Tujuan dari pengembangan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan buku ikan gelodok dan menguji kualitas buku yang telah dikembangkan. Metode yang digunakan untuk mengembangkan buku ikan gelodok adalah Research and Development (R D) dengan model 4D (Design, Define, Develop, Disseminate) yang dikembangkan oleh Thiagarajan tahun 1974. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar validasi oleh ahli materi, ahli media dan ahli integrasi sebagai validator kelayakan buku. Validasi oleh mahasiswa sebagai respon pengguna. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan skala likert. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa persentase hasil validasi dari ahli materi sebesar 95%, ahli media sebesar 73%, ahli integrasi sebesar 88%. Rata-rata persentase adalah 88% yang tergolong dalam kategori sangat valid. Uji skala kecil dengan 10 mahasiswa mendapatkan persentase sebesar 89% yang menunjukkan sangat valid sehingga dapat dilanjutkan pada uji skala lebih luas. Uji skala lebih luas dengan 68 mahasiswa menunjukkan persentase sebesar 85% yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat layak. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa buku ikan gelodok layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar mandiri.

Abstract

The aims of this research is to know relationship betweef butterflies diversity and tropical flower plants in the Muria Mountain  at Kudus City of Central Java. The research use quadrat sampling transect method with three stations (along 2 km). Research was conducted in Maret and Juni 2020. The tools used insectnet, termohigrometer, luxmeter, digital camera,  rollmeter, GPS, jar and identification book. Data and analyzed for research using Shannon-Wiener index diversity (H’), Evenness index (E), Relative Abundance (Pi), Simpson Dominance Index (D), Density (KR) Frequency (FR), and Important Value Index (IVI).  Results of research showed that at least 40 species of 6 family butterflies at Mt. Muria. Survey results of Mt. Muria area has a middle Diversity, middle Evenness, and low dominance. Leptosia nina was the most relative abundance, frequency, density and INP highest species of butterflies. Butterflies were found frequently feeding on flower tropical plants. Two species of flower tropical plants was the most used of butterflies are Lantana camara, and Chromolaena odorata. Mt. Muria was optimal abiotic factors for butterflies habitat.

Abstract

Familia Araceae banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai tanaman hias, karena memiliki bentuk dan corak daun yang bervariasi. Di Indonesia terdapat 25% marga Araceae dari keseluruhan marga Araceae di dunia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis karakter stomata daun pada tanaman hias familia Araceae di Kelurahan Ngaliyan. Pengamatan karakter stomata menggunakan metode replika. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ditemukan 17 spesies dari 10 genus familia Araceae. Pada spesies Homalomena cordata, Aglaonema simplex, Anthurium hookeri, Phlodendron billietiae, Amorphophallus variabilis, dan Monstera dubia stomata hanya ditemukan di permukaan bawah dan tipe penyebaran apel. Sedangkan spesies lainnya stomata ditemukan di permukaan bawah dan atas serta tipe penyebaran potato. Seluruh spesies memiliki bentuk sel penutup tipe halter. A. hookeri, P. billietiae, dan C. bicolor red rhapsody memiliki 4 sel tetangga, sedangkan 14 sel lainnya 2 sel tetangga. Ukuran stomata berbeda pada setiap spesies yang diamati. Ditemukan 3 tipe stomata yaitu tipe anomositik, tipe tetrasitik, dan tipe parasitik.

Abstract

Mount Muria has abundant natural resources, both flora and fauna, one of which is butterflies. Butterflies as natural pollinators have an important role in the ecosystem. The deterioration of air quality has a negative impact on butterflies because they are quite sensitive to poor air quality and poor lighting. This study aims to analyze the relationship between environmental conditions and butterflies in the Muria Kudus area, carried out in March and June 2020. Butterfly observations were carried out using the quadratic sample transect method with 3 observation stations and measured environmental factors, among others: temperature, humidity, light intensity, altitude and Pb concentration analysis with AAS. The results of the study found 40 species of butterflies consisting of 6 families, with a moderate diversity index, almost merit index and low dominance. Muria area still has good environmental conditions for butterfly breeding. Relative abundance is negatively correlated with light intensity (rcount = -0,855, rtable = 0,811). Averageness is negatively correlated with heigh (rcount=-0,836, rtable=-0,881). The butterfly species Ypthima nigricans, Orsotriaena medus, and Melanitis leda is a specialist butterfly species and the butterfly species Papilio memnon, Leptosia nina, Chersonesia rahria, Mycalesis horsifieldii, and Yphtima horsifieldii is a generalist species butterfly

Abstract

The limitations of bacterial visualization media make bacteria consider as abstract and difficult material to study. Furthermore, the implementation of bacteria material and the integration of Islamic values are difficult to teach. This research aimed at developing and validating the BSB (Bacterial Set Box) media containing fiqh al biah. The method used in this research was R&D (Research and Development) with 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) by Thiagarajan et al. The media developed was three dimensions (3D), which was packed up in a box which contained three packages. The first box was bacterial visualization; the second box was bacterial classification; the third box was 3D box containing fiqh al biah. The field test was carried out in Al Azhar Islamic Public School 16 and MA Nurussalam Semarang. The results showed that the validation percentages were 94% (material expert), 79% (media expert), 96% (integration expert), 92% (biology teacher of Al Azhar Islamic Public School 16), and 86% (biology teacher of MA Nurussalam). A pilot scale test and a large-scale test showed very feasible. It can be concluded that BSB media containing fiqh al biah is very feasible to use.
