Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hasil perhitungan indeks biodiversitas serta nilai FBI (Family Biotic Index) dan menganalisis data keanekaragaman jenis capung subordo Zygoptera sebagai bioindikator kualitas air di aliran sungai kawasan Muria. Jenis penelitian ini termasuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilakukan tanggal 15-25 Agustus 2018 dan tanggal 5-7 Januari 2019 di tiga stasiun yaitu Sungai Kembang, ±200 mdpl, Air Terjun Montel, ±600 mdpl, dan Sungai Roti, ±800 mdpl. Seluruh data capung diambil dengan menggunakan metode jelajah (visual day flying) dan engambilan sampel air dengan menggunakan water sample. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan ada 180 individu capung subordo Zygoptera dari 4 spesies dan 4 family yaitu Euphaea variegata (Euphaeidae), Nososticta insignis (Protoneuridae), Vestalis luctuosa (Calopterygidae), dan Copera marginipes (Platycnemididae). Spesies capung yang banyak dijumpai yaitu capung Euphaea variegata yang memiliki indeks kelimpahan paling tinggi. Keanekaragaman jenis bekisar antara 0,7-0,8(rendah), indeks kemerataan jenisnya berkisar antara 0,5-0,6 (cukup merata) dan dominansi jenisnya berkisar antara 0,4-0,5 (sedang) dikarenakan kondisi lingkungan yang kurang stabil sebagai habitat capung. Keanekaragaman jenis capung memiliki keterkaitan sebagai bioindikator kualitas air dan analisis nilai FBI (Family Biotic Index) family Euphaeidae, Protoneuridae, Calopterygidae dan Platycnemididae secara berturut-turut yaitu 3,7; 2,8; 0,1; dan 0,06 yang menunjukkan kualitas air sungai di kawasan Muria desa Colo, Kudus dalam kategori sangat baik dan tidak terpolusi bahan organik. Hal ini membuktikan capung subordo Zygoptera dapat dijadikan sebagai bioindikator kualitas air untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pencemaran bahan organik di suatu perairan.

Abstract

Brek fish (Barbonymus balleroides) is a consumption, fish that is widely used by people around the River. The population has started to decline, but not yet cultivated. Therefore, research has been conducted as a basis for its domestication, including growth patterns and condition factor of Brek Fish. The total length (TL) of each individual was measured using a digital caliper with an accuracy of 0.05 mm, while the body weight was weighed using an analytical scale with an accuracy of 0.0001 g. the data obtained were analyzed by linear regression found in the microsoft excel program. The results showed that the growth pattern of brek fish was allometric negative, the average condition factor value of brek fish (B. balleroides) was 1.026. The author hopes this research can be used as basic biological information to support the conservation of Brek Fish (B. ballerodes).

Abstract

Perairan yang memiliki kualitas air bersih sangat mempengaruhi keragaman jenis capung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung indeks keanekaragaman, indeks kemerataan, dominansi dan FBI (Family Biotic Indeks) capung Anisoptera dan untuk membandingkan kualitas air pada tiga area  yang berbeda terhadap keanekaragaman jenis capung Anisoptera di sekitar aliran sungai gunung Muria Desa Colo Kudus Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Hasil dari penelitian tersebut ditemukan lima spesies capung pada tiga area  penelitian. Hasil analisis indeks keanekaragaman bahwa area  1 (0,99) dan area  3 (0,97) tergolong rendah, sedangkan area  2 (1,12) tergolong sedang. Analisis indeks kemerataan menunjukkan bahwa area  1 (0,71) dan area  2 (0,62) cukup merata, sedangkan area  3 (0,88) hampir merata. Hasil analisis indeks dominansi menunjukkan bahwa area  1 (0,42) dan area  2 (0,37) tergolong sedang, sedangkan area  3 (0,20) rendah. Hasil analisis FBI (Family Biotic Indeks) menunjukkan bahwa ketiga area  tersebut memiliki kualitas air paling baik atau tidak tercemar bahan organik. Perbandingan kualitas air pada ketiga area  terhadap keanekaragaman jenis capung Anisoptera yaitu area  1 dan area  3 memiliki kualitas air bersih akan tetapi memiliki keanekaragaman jenis capung Anisoptera rendah, sedangkan untuk area  2 memiliki kualitas air tercemar akan tetapi memiliki keanekaragaman jenis capung Anisoptera sedang. Kata kunci : Biodiversitas, Capung Anisoptera, Kualitas air

Abstract

Modifikasi Kitosan dengan Glukosa mampu memperbaiki kemampuan kitosan dalam mengawetkan makanan. Kitosan-Glukosa yang diaplikasikan pada ikan bandeng duri lunak dengan cara pelapisan menghasilkan adanya perbedaan kandungan protein sebesar 0,0045%, 0,0048%, dan 0,072%. Sedangkan perbedaan kandungan mikroba sebesar 4,05 x 104 ; 7 x 104 ; dan 1,37 x 106. Pengukuran tersebut dilakukan di hari ke 1, 3, dan 5 pada kontrol ikan yang tidak mengalami pelapisan dengan ikan yang mengalami pelapisan. Hasil uji organoleptik dengan skala nilai 1-4 pada tampilan, aroma, warna dan rasa pada hari ke 5 menunjukkan bahwa nilai ikan yang mengalami pelapisan lebih tinggi dari pada yang tidak mengalami pelapisan. Uji IR menunjukkan tidak ada gugus baru terbentuk antara kitosan-glukosa.

Abstract

Salam atau Syzygium polyanthum merupakan tumbuhan berkhasiat obat yang mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder yang memiliki banyak aktivitas farmakologi. Daun Salam dilaporkan mengandung flavonoid, alkaloid, fenolik, steroid, terpenoid, dan saponin. Kandungan senyawa dalam daun tersebut dimungkinkan juga dimiliki oleh bagian korteks batang Salam (Syzygium polyanthum). Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan skrining fitokimia ekstrak n-heksan korteks batang Salam. Hasil uji fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak n-heksan korteks batang Salam mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder golongan steroid, terpenoid, dan triterpenoid, tetapi tidak mengandung kelompok senyawa flavonoid, alkaloid, fenolat, tannin, dan saponin. Senyawa metabolit sekunder yang ada dalam ekstrak n-heksan korteks batang Salam ini dimungkinkan berfungsi sebagai antimikroba.

Abstract

AbstractIndonesia is a country that has abundant flora and fauna. Mount Muria, Kudus Regency, Central Java has a high potential for bird biodiversity. The area which is a natural protected forest area, is very supportive for the existing bird habitat. However, this potential is still rarely known by the general public due to the lack of publications. The aims to find out and analyze the types of birds and to find out and analyze the condition of the bird habitat found in the Mount Muria area. The research was conducted using the transect method with 3 observation stations. The observed birds were then photographed and identified based on the field guide of MacKinnon. The results showed that 22 species 18 families were identified, including: Campephagidae, Vangidae, Sittidae, Pycnonotidae, Rhipiduridae, Nectariniidae, Eurylaimidae, Pellorneidae, Hirundinidae, Cisticolidae, Dicaeidae, Pittidae, Alcedinidae, Meropidae, Megalaimidae, Apodidae, Accipitridae and Cuculidae. Habitat conditions are strongly influenced by biotic and abiotic components to support the survival and diversity of birds on Mount Muria

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari perbandingan kadar glukosa darah tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus L.) setelah mengonsumsi suweg mentah dan suweg rebus. Eksperimen dilakukan pada 15 ekor tikus putih sehat dengan rerata berat badan 181-183 gram. Tikus dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok perlakuan. Setiap kelompok tikus normal diadaptasikan terhadap pakan selama 3 hari dan dipuasakan selama 8-12 jam, kemudian diberi pakan sesuai dengan kelompok perlakuan masing-masing pakan suweg dengan dosis 10 mg/180 g BB suweg rebus, 10 mg/180 g BB suweg mentah, dan 10 mg/180 g BB pakan standar (kontrol).  Kadar glukosa darah diukur dengan glukometer pada menit ke 0, 60 dan 120 setelah pemberian pakan secara oral. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan umbi suweg mentah menunjukkan aktivitas penurunan kadar gula darah lebih tinggi (3,8 mg/dl) dibandingkan umbi suweg rebus (3,6 mg/dl). Kecenderungan ini menunjukkan bahwa secara alami hormon insulin di dalam tubuh tikus sudah bekerja dalam menyeimbangkan kadar gula darah. Suweg mengandung senyawa bioaktif berupa Polisakarida Larut Air (PLA) dan serat pangan yang dapat membantu menurunkan kadar glukosa darah. Umbi suweg dapat diaplikasikan pada manusia khususnya sebagai terapi diet penurun kadar glukosa darah bagi penderita diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Glyptothorax platypogon is freshwater fish, it’s potential to be an ornamental fish. Its need to be protected from extinction because population in other areas is till abundance. G. platypogon has reported that it's in Serayu River and based on pre-research observations found in Ringin River, Semarang, Central Java. The differences in the geographic location of the two rivers have the potential for the emergence of morphological variations of G. platypogon. Research on the morphology study of the G. platypogon from the Serayu River in Banjarnegara and the Ringin River has been conducted. This study describe morphological variations and provide information about the phenetic relationship between them. Sampling was carried out at Serayu River and Ringin River by direct observation and collection methods in the Field then continued at the Structure Laboratory of Biology Department State Islamic University Walisongo for observed morphometric and meristic,including 43 characters. Data was analyzed with the Kruskall Wallis test, Mann Whitney U test, PCA (Principal Component Analysis) and UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Arithmetic Average Method). The result showed that there were high morphological variations in the Allopatric population in Serayu River and Ringin River and there were low morphological variations in the Sympatric population in Serayu river. There were two clad taxa branching groups from Serayu and Ringin population which show morphological variation. UPGMA analysis and Euclidean distance show the population of Serayu River and Ringin River have a close phenetic relationship.
