Abstract

In general, the application of the concept of organizational culture in schools is actually not much different from the application of other organizational culture concepts. Even if there are differences, it may only lie in the type of dominant value it develops and the characteristics of its supporters. This is because the values developed in schools, of course, cannot be separated from the existence of the school itself as an educational organization, which has a role and function to try to develop, preserve and pass on cultural values to students in the school environment.Based on the results of research that has been carried out with data collected both through questionnaires and separate data collection processes (interviews, observation, and documentation), a conclusion is obtained which states that organizational culture and principal leadership together have positive values and affect teacher performance in SMA Negeri 9 Jambi City. This means that teacher performance does not only come from how a teacher is able to carry out the tasks assigned to him, but how the conditions and work environment are so that they are able to give their best.Thus, overall teachers can work well not only supported by the existence of complete learning facilities and facilities, but also several other factors. This is because the high or low performance of a teacher is none other than due to an underlying drive or need to be able to carry out their work load and responsibilities properly.

Abstract

The purpose of this study, among others, is to analyze the effect of partially and simultaneously Internal Locus Of Control, Punichment Giving, and Visual Learning Style on Student Learning Achievement of STKIP Nasional Pariaman. The method used is quantitative research with the research design used associative research. The entire sample in this study was taken from the total population of class 2017 to 2019, so that the sample size was 33 students. The data analysis technique used in this study is multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the variables Internal Locus of Control, Punichment Giving and Visual Learning Style had a positive and partially significant effect on Student Learning Achievement. This can be seen from the level of significance of the t test conducted at p = 0.000 for the Internal Locus of Control variable, p = 0.004 for the Punichment Giving variable, and p = 0.009 for the Visual Learning Style variable. Each of these independent variables has a p value <0.05. So it can be said that ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Simultaneously the Internal Locus Of Control variable, Punichment Giving and Visual Learning Style have a positive and significant effect on Student Learning Achievement. This can be seen from the level of significance of the F test which was carried out at 0.000 <0.05.

Abstract

This study presents the problem that is solving math story question is a difficulty for students so the teacher uses a problem solving model and students will find it easier to understand the meaning of the story question and be able to solve them. The research design is qualitative and descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were the principal, student guardians of grade 4 (mathematics teacher), and students. Data collection techniques were in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that by planning, implementing, evaluating the use of a good problem solving model will be able to solve problems, with the obstacles and efforts will be get a good result.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out (1) the process of learning media development based blended learning for Indonesia Contemporary History subject of History Education Program batanghari University Jambi, (2) The eligibility of learning media based blended learning for Indonesia Contemporary History subject of History Education Program Batanghari University Jambi. The types of this research are research and development. This research emphasizes an effort to produce certain products that will be used in certain fields of science and can also be used in an activity that needs it. The development which was carried out in this research is developing of learning media based on blended learning in the form of an ebook. To determine the feasibility of the media, the media experts and material experts validated the media that had been made and then conducted a media trial to the students, the trial was carried out on three stages, one to one, small group trials, and field test trials. The results showed that (1) the stages of developing blended learning based media in Indonesia Contemporary History subject adopted the steps or stages which were developed by ADDIE which consisted of five stages, they are:  analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. (2) The results of the assessment by media experts for all aspects obtained an average score of 4.25 with very good category and reasonable to be used. Furthermore, based on the media expert's assessment, the average of all aspects is 4.35 dan 4,48 after revision with a very good category so that the material reasonable to be used. The advisability of blended learning based media in Indonesia Contemporary based on student assessment in the field test obtained an average of all aspects 4.45 in the very good category so that the media was very suitable to be used in this learning activity.

Abstract

The aim of this reaserch is to get interactive audio visual teaching media on the discussion about teaching Genetic Substance that can be used by teacher and educators so that it can vary and improve teaching and learning quality at senior high school. The method is model designing multimedia based research consisted of five stoges : 1) analysis; 2). Design; 3). Development; 4). Implementation and 5). Evaluation. The outcome of this research was media which were developed very well. It can be describle by the following : (1). Media validity gave good criteria to the media based on the visual look, and (2). Material validity gave good criteria based on the media produced in the research, (3). As a peer evaluation state that the product is worth given to a small Group to learner as a user, (4) student’s response showed from the test given to a small group of student state that this audio visual media had good quality so that it’s easy to understand, (5). Student’s response showed from the test given to a large group of student state that the media produced in this research can improve the student’s interest to study. The research was conducted SMA N 4 Jambi, the subjects were all 12th grade students and the teacher of Biology subject

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe students' thought processes in solving mathematical problems based on information processing theory. This research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach that uses data collection techniques using the method of think aloud and interviews. The instrument in this study used written test questions and interview guidelines. The subjects in this study consisted of one high ability person, one moderate ability student and one low ability student. The results showed that information or stimulus in the form of questions received by students with high, medium, and low mathematical abilities entered the sensory register through the sense of sight and sense of hearing. Then attention occurs after reading the problem and perception arises. Next, students realize perception by retrieval the concepts needed from long term memory to solve problems. When conducting a retrieval of students with moderate mathematical abilities, there is a student who experiences a retrieval failure in explaining the concept. Then for students who have low mathematical ability, the concepts needed for short term memory are not stored well by long term memory, so students often experience errors and forget.

Abstract

This study aims to provide solutions for the problems of understanding in work safety at biology laboratory material by developing learning resources in the form of biology magazines work safety material in biology laboratory for 11th Proffesional High School On 4 Muaro Jambi. The type of this research is development research with ADDIE model. This research was conducted at kelas XI Pertanian SMK Negeri 4 Muaro Jambi. The research data was taken on January 2nd 2019 and obtained by giving a questionnaire to the media expert validator, material expert validator, a small group consisting of 6 students, a large group consisting of 19 students, a teacher of biological studies and a laboratory assistant. The results of the study show that the product is feasible to be used as learning resources. This is indicated by the results of the media validation process and the material carried out 3 times continues to increase. The percentage of stage I media validation was 60% and material validation was 61.25% in the 'not good' category, then increase in the second stage, media validation was 75% and material validation was 66.25% in the 'good' category and finally in stage III media validation was 95% and material validation was 88.75% in the 'very good' category. The results of the assessment by biology teachers with percentage of 97.5% in the 'very good' category. The results of the assessment by a laboratory assistant with percentage of 92.5% in the 'very good' category. Student trial in small groups get a percentage of 79.1% in the 'Good' category and the trials of students in large groups get a percentage of 84.8% in the 'very good' category.

Abstract

The problems that occur teachers do not apply varied learning and less developed methods. The teacher always views that learning must memorize, always read books, and work on problems. As a result, students feel bored, and less enthusiastic, shown by low student learning outcomes. The purpose of this study was to improve the quality of science learning which includes teacher skills, student activities, and student learning outcomes in grade III students of SDN 111 / IX Muhajirin Village. The design of this research is classroom action research with the stages of planning, implementing the action (applying the inquiry approach with video media), observing and reflecting. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 2 meetings and carried out in 4 stages. This research was conducted at SDN 111 / IX Muhajirin Village, with the subject of this study being the teacher (researcher) and 34 students. In data collection, the techniques used are tests, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used was quantitative and qualitative data. The results of this study: (1) The teacher's skills in the first cycle obtained a total score of 13 in the sufficient category, and in the second cycle the score increased to 29 in the very good category. (2) The activity of students in the first cycle the average score for the activity of students was 22.3 in the good category, in the second cycle the average score for the activity of students increased to 28.5 in the very good category. (3) The learning outcomes of students in cycle I classical completeness reached 59% (20 of 34 students) with an average class score of 72.27 and in cycle II increased to 88% (30 of 34 students) with an average grade -averaged 84.23. The use of an inquiry approach using video media in science learning can improve teacher skills, student activities, and learning outcomes in class III students of SDN 111 / IX Muhajirin Village. The inquiry approach using video media improves the quality of learning so it is suggested that it can be applied to other learning.

Abstract

Learning process for repairing electricity motor competency at skill competency of Installation Electric Power Technique at SMK Negeri 1 Sarolangun has not been run effectively. In fact, learning material in repairing electricity motor just used modul as teaching materi and media learning. While, to get the competency thad needed, learning process should be supported by leaning tool well. For answer the problem above, teacher as a fasilitator in achievment of students competency is demanded to creative in learning management. One of them is by finding alternative solution that is by develop audiovisual media for learning of repairing electricity motor that can give solution in lerning process. Development of this media aim to product efective media in learning material of repairing electricity motor at SMK Negeri 1 Sarolangun. Development model that chosen is based on Borg and Gall model that adapted lerning design Dick and Carey model. Development process is done by 5 main steps: (1) Doing analysis, (2) Design pre product, (3) Validation and revision, (4) Try out at small scale field and, (5) Try out big group field. Based on the try out of audiovisual media for learning of repairing electricity motor at the SMK, responden give suggestion that the media can be benefit in learning process at school. The reason is that media can give information about the jobs steps clearly at matery of repairing electricity motor so give ease in learning. This ease in proved by the result of try out at big group that give conclution, there is increasingly at the result of study. There by, the media can comprehand learning material fast.

Abstract

The background of the problem in science learning, teachers do not involve students in investigations, students are less trained in developing work (products). The concepts that are mastered by students are only given rote by the teacher, students are not taught through a problem-oriented discovery process in everyday life. Based on this problem, the most appropriate solution is to implement a smart card media with a PBI model. In particular, it is improving teacher skills, student activities, and learning outcomes in science learning for class IV SDN 211 / IX Mendalo Darat. This research is a classroom action research, and uses a Problem Based Instruction model with smart card media in three cycles. Consists of two meetings and four stages in each, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The results showed: (1) the skills of the teacher in obtaining an average score of the two meetings in cycle 1 were 21.5 with sufficient criteria; cycle 2 obtained a score of 27 with good criteria. The score obtained in cycle 3 is 30.5 and is included in the good category. (2) The activity of students obtaining an average score from the two meetings in cycle 1 was 21.85 with sufficient criteria; In cycle 2, a score of 24.35 was obtained with good criteria. For cycle 3, obtained a score of 31.2 good categories. (3) The learning outcomes of students obtaining an average percentage of classical completeness from the two meetings in cycle 1 was 55.41%. Obtained the percentage of classical completeness in cycle 2 is 68%. The percentage of classical completeness in cycle 3 was 81%. The indicators of success that have been achieved in the results of this study indicate that this research is declared successful. Through the Problem Based Instruction (PBI) model with smart card media, the conclusions of this study can improve teacher skills, student activities and learning outcomes of grade IV SDN211 / IX Mendalo Land. It is recommended for teachers that before starting learning with the Problem Based Instruction model with smart card media the teacher needs careful preparation
