Abstract

There are distinct dynamics between the performance of the Jakarta Islamic Index 70 (JII) and the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) in the post-pandemic period. Although Indonesia’s Islamic capital market has shown growth in terms of market capitalization and the number of instruments, the movement of the JII has tended to stagnate and exhibit a declining trend over the past few years. This condition indicates the presence of structural challenges as well as differences in market responses to information, as reflected in stock index movements. This study aims to analyze the effects of inflation, the BI 7-Day Reverse Repo Rate, the Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG), the Dow Jones Islamic Market Index (DJIM), and the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index (FBMHS) on the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). The method employed is linear regression using quarterly data from 2019 to 2024, processed with EViews version 13. The results show that inflation has no effect on the JII, while the BI Rate and DJIM have a significant negative effect on the JII. Meanwhile, the IHSG and FBMHS variables have a significant positive effect on the JII. These findings confirm that the JII is influenced by domestic macroeconomic conditions as well as movements in global Islamic stock markets. This study provides implications for investors and policymakers regarding the importance of considering national and international economic dynamics in making Islamic investment decisions.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a critical factor for public sector organizations in enhancing adaptability and organizational resilience amid an increasingly dynamic environment. However, the success of digital transformation is not solely determined by technological adoption but is also influenced by digital culture and adaptive leadership. This study aims to examine the effects of Digital Transformation and Digital Culture on Organizational Resilience and to test the moderating role of Agile Leadership. This research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 133 employees of a  X Regional Public Water Utility Company in Central Java, selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 3. The results indicate that Digital Transformation does not have a significant direct effect on Organizational Resilience, whereas Digital Culture has a positive and significant effect. Furthermore, Agile Leadership significantly strengthens the effects of Digital Transformation and Digital Culture on Organizational Resilience. These findings suggest that organizational resilience in the public sector is more effectively developed through the reinforcement of digital culture and agile leadership that optimizes digital transformation initiatives. This study provides theoretical and practical implications for public organizations in designing adaptive strategies to enhance organizational resilience in the digital era.

Abstract

Indonesia's economic growth during 2010-2024 has been influenced by international trade and foreign capital flows, yet empirical findings remain contradictory. This study analyzes the influence of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), exchange rate, exports, and imports on Indonesia's economic growth, both partially and simultaneously. Using quarterly time series data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) covering 60 observations from Q1 2010 to Q4 2024, this quantitative research employs multiple linear regression with the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method using EViews 13 software, preceded by stationarity, cointegration, and classical assumption tests. The results indicate that exports have a positive and significant effect on economic growth with a coefficient of 0.2776 (p-value = 0.0418), while FDI, exchange rate, and imports do not show significant individual effects. However, simultaneously, all four variables significantly influence economic growth with an F-statistic of 4.1847 (p-value = 0.0073) and an Adjusted R² of 25.11%. These findings confirm that in an open economy framework, external sector variables collectively play an important role in Indonesia's economic growth dynamics, with exports emerging as the most dominant factor in driving short-term economic growth, though the complex interactions among FDI, exchange rates, and trade require further analysis to understand their long-term equilibrium relationships.

Abstract

Inclusive human development in Indonesia's medium-sized coastal cities faces structural challenges in the form of persistent poverty and limited household economic resilience that mutually undermine each other. Objectives: This study aims to analyze the interconnection patterns of poverty and economic resilience and their simultaneous impact on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Parepare City, South Sulawesi, while formulating evidence-based policy recommendations that support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Methods: A mixed-methods approach with an explanatory sequential design was applied using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-AMOS) on 385 households selected through stratified random sampling from four districts. Secondary data from BPS Parepare City for the period 2020–2024 were analyzed longitudinally. Validation was conducted through 30 in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions. Results: Poverty had a significant negative effect on HDI (β = −0.58; p < 0.001), while economic resilience had a significant positive effect (β = 0.62; p < 0.001). The model explained 61% of HDI variation (R² = 0.61) with excellent goodness-of-fit indicators (CFI = 0.96; RMSEA = 0.052). Conclusion: Strengthening economic resilience is proven to be a more powerful interventional pathway than mere poverty reduction in driving human development. This study produces a contextual interconnection model for Indonesia's medium-sized coastal cities and recommends a paradigm shift in development from a social assistance-based approach toward community-based productive economic capacity building

Abstract

This study aims to analyze internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) factors, as well as analyze the strategies used to increase the income potential of kratom farmers in Kepala Gurung Village. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. This research uses SWOT analysis. The results of this study indicate that the kratom business in Kepala Gurung Village serves as an alternative source of income that increases the economic resilience of farming households, although it is mostly positioned as additional income. The kratom business is in Quadrant I (Strength–Opportunities), indicating relatively favorable business conditions. The most appropriate strategy to implement is an aggressive strategy (SO), namely a strategy that maximizes internal strengths to optimally utilize external opportunities. Based on the results of the kratom business development strategy formulated through a SWOT analysis as seen from IFAS and EFAS, it includes optimizing land and farmer expertise to increase productivity, strengthening partnerships with exporters and the herbal industry, developing value-added kratom derivative products, utilizing the domestic market and local culture as alternative market expansion, and increasing promotion through exhibitions and digital platforms.

Abstract

Household consumption plays a crucial role in Indonesia's economic growth, contributing over 50% to Indonesia's gross domestic product. This is reflected in the Indonesian government's monetary policy, which strives to maintain price stability. This study was conducted to examine the role of income in determining household consumption, which is influenced by inflation and taxes. This quantitative study examined the effect of inflation and taxes on household consumption, mediated by income. Path analysis was used in this study. The results indicate that income has a positive effect on consumption. This condition indicates that the higher the household income, the higher the consumption level. Inflation and taxes partially have a significant negative effect on consumption. This condition indicates that the higher the inflation and taxes, the lower the household consumption level. Indirectly, income can mediate the relationship between tax rates and inflation on household consumption levels. This study found that when inflation or tax rates increase without a corresponding increase in income, households' real income for consumption decreases, resulting in reduced purchasing power. This condition will lead to reduced aggregate demand, negatively impacting economic growth

Abstract

Tanean Lanjheng is a traditional Madurese settlement that not only represents physical spatial planning but also contains social, kinship, and communal values that play a role in shaping the relationship patterns and leadership practices of the community. This article aims to analyze the values internalized in Tanean Lanjheng architecture and explain their relevance as a conceptual basis in the formation of an indigenous leadership model based on Madurese local wisdom. This research uses a qualitative approach through literature studies of books, journal articles, and ethnographic studies that discuss the culture and social systems of Madurese society. The analysis focuses on spatial patterns, genealogical relationships, deliberation mechanisms, and the management of authority and conflict in the Tanean Lanjheng system . The results of the study indicate that Tanean Lanjheng architecture reflects the values of togetherness, moral hierarchy, exemplary leadership, and social responsibility carried out collectively. These values shape the characteristics of an indigenous leadership model that emphasizes customary legitimacy, participatory decision-making, and community-based social control. This article concludes that the architectural values of Tanean Lanjheng has the potential to serve as a conceptual framework in developing a leadership and management model based on Indonesian local wisdom, particularly in the context of communal leadership and custom-based organizations.

Abstract

Financial statement fraud is one of the most detrimental forms of fraud because it undermines the credibility of financial reporting and affects stakeholders' decision making. Financial pressure faced by companies is often associated with a greater likelihood of financial statement manipulation. This study aims to examine the effect of the Debt to Asset Ratio (DAR), Net Profit Margin (NPM), and Current Ratio (CR) on financial statement fraud in infrastructure companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. This study employed a quantitative approach using secondary data obtained from the companies' annual financial statements. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique, resulting in 15 companies with a total of 75 firm year observations. Financial statement fraud was measured using the Beneish M Score, while the data were analyzed using panel data regression with EViews 13 software. The results indicate that the Debt to Asset Ratio has a positive and significant effect on financial statement fraud, whereas the Net Profit Margin has no significant effect. In contrast, the Current Ratio has a positive and significant effect on financial statement fraud. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence financial statement fraud. These findings suggest that leverage and liquidity can serve as important indicators for identifying the potential risk of financial statement fraud in infrastructure companies, whereas profitability is not a significant determinant of fraudulent financial reporting in this sector.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions on corporate business risk. Data were collected through a questionnaire administered to 352 respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that the Environmental dimension has a negative and significant effect on all types of business risk, particularly reputational and operational risk. The Social dimension shows inconsistent effects, as it is only significant in reducing operational and financial risk. Meanwhile, the Governance dimension is found to have a significant effect in reducing regulatory and financial risk, but not other types of risk. These findings suggest that not all ESG dimensions have the same impact on business risk, implying that companies should prioritize ESG strategies selectively based on the type of risk they aim to mitigate.
