Abstract

This study examines the effect of household health insurance ownership, particularly the BPJS Penerima Bantuan Iuran (PBI) scheme, on the likelihood of children from poor families engaging in work. In vulnerable households, children are often pushed into the labor market when parents fall ill and lose income. Using data from the 2022 National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS) and the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) method, this research compares the probability of child labor between poor households with and without BPJS PBI coverage. The results indicate that health insurance ownership has not been effective in reducing child labor risk. Children from insured households are found to be 0.96 percentage points more likely to work than those from uninsured households. This suggests a reverse causality effect, where economically vulnerable families with higher health risks are more likely to enroll in BPJS PBI but still rely on children’s labor due to persistent financial pressures. The study concludes that health insurance programs should be complemented by broader social protection policies, such as conditional cash transfers, education scholarships, and household economic empowerment programs, to more effectively protect children from labor and break the intergenerational cycle of poverty.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of profitability, liquidity, and corporate growth on stock prices in the property sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the 2021-2024 period. This study applies a quantitative approach through secondary data processed with Eviews analysis software. Sample selection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique on 23 corporations from a total population of 156. The results show that profitability has a negative and significant effect on stock prices, indicating that profit optimization is not always followed by an increase in stock prices. Conversely, liquidity has a positive and significant effect, indicating a corporation's strong capability in meeting its short-term obligations, which then increases investor confidence. Corporate growth also has a positive and significant effect on stock prices, reflecting that increased business expansion and financial performance can increase investor interest.

Abstract

This study pertains to the enhancement of understanding about the Quality Value Model, particularly concerning the strategic national issue of housing construction for the populace of Indonesia. The literature indicates that quality management science has been addressed in several prior research; nevertheless, it has not yielded complete insights specifically pertaining to the perception of quality, particularly from the perspective of housing users. The Indonesian populace badly requires this strategic housing initiative. Indonesia is presently experiencing a housing ownership dilemma. The elevated demand for housing has prompted the housing sector to expand and intensify competition among developers. This work aims to generate supplementary scientific references through a conceptual Quality Value model, serving as a complete strategy to elucidate current dynamics and foresee new challenges. This study employs a quantitative methodology. This research employs PLS-SEM as the analytical tool. The results of this research consist of a mapping of the Quality Value model. This research has two implications. The initial aspect is scientific, represented by a new reference from the Quality Value model on housing occupant perceptions. The second pertains to a reference or practical strategic consideration for stakeholders of the National Strategic Program: Housing Occupant Perceptions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, digital financial inclusion, and self-control on financial management behavior among Generation Z, as well as to analyze the role of self-control as an intervening variable. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survei method by distributing questionnaires to 120 Generation Z respondents who actively engage in digital financial activites. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Squares (PLS). The resluts show that digital financial inclusion and self-control have a positive and significant effect on financial management behavior. In addition, financial literacy and digital financial inclusion have a positive and significant effect on self-control. However, financial literacy does not have a significant effect on financial management behavior, indicating that financial knowledge alone is not sufficient to drive behavioral changes without internal motivation or habitual application in daily life. Self-control also fails to mediate the effect of financial literacy and digital financial inclusion on financial management behavior. These findings suggest that financial education should not only focus on cognitive aspects but also emphasize character building and the development of positive habits from an early age in order to foster healthy and sustainable financial bahevior.

Abstract

Regional development in Indonesia is still facing challenges such as regional inequality, disparities in the quality of human resources, and access to digital testing. This research aims to analyse strategic issues in regional development with a focus on GDP movement, HDI, and the digital divide. The approach taken is a literature review of reputable academic sources, reports from international organisations (UNDP, OECD, ADB), and empirical national data. To build the theoretical basis from this data collection, New Economic Geography is used as a grand theory, supplemented with the application of endogenous growth theory to clarify the role of innovation as human capital. The results of this study demonstrate that areas with better infrastructure, education, and digital resilience are able to grow more quickly and have a greater potential for better integration into the economic system; conversely, areas that are lagging in terms of infrastructure, education, and digital resilience will be pressured in their development. This disparity is felt more acutely post-pandemic. These findings underline the need for location-based development policies, strengthening regional governance systems, and more effective fiscal decentralisation policies, culminating in a more inclusive digital governance system. In conclusion, sustainable regional development can only be achieved through strategies that emphasise location-based development, enhancement of human resource quality, and the utilisation of technology in integrated economic development. Keywords: regional development, regional inequality, HDI, digital transformation

Abstract

Work engagement has become a critical concern in contemporary organizations, particularly as workforce dynamics continue to evolve. Among emerging employee groups, Generation Z demonstrates distinct expectations regarding leadership, autonomy, and workplace values, making it essential to understand the factors that foster their engagement at work. This study examines how empowering leadership shapes work engagement by incorporating psychological empowerment as an underlying mechanism and power distance orientation as a contextual boundary condition. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through a survey and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that empowering leadership positively and significantly enhances work engagement. Psychological empowerment partially mediates this relationship, indicating that empowering leadership strengthens employees’ sense of meaning, competence, self-determination, and impact, which in turn fosters greater engagement. Furthermore, power distance orientation moderates the relationship between empowering leadership and psychological empowerment, with stronger effects observed among individuals with lower power distance orientation. These findings highlight the importance of empowering leadership in fostering employee engagement by addressing both psychological mechanisms and individual cultural orientations.

Abstract

This research examines the influence of discipline and allowances on organizational performance and job satisfaction within human resource management practices at four-star hotels in Surabaya. Concurrent with the increasing competition in the hospitality industry, hotels increasingly require an effective HR management system to maintain service consistency and operational stability. Discipline and allowances are assessed as crucial HR mechanisms that play a vital role in shaping employees’ work attitudes and supporting the achievement of organizational performance in a service-based work environment. A quantitative approach was employed through the distribution of structured questionnaires to a total of 285 respondents selected using the purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method. The research findings indicate that discipline has a positive and significant effect on organizational performance and job satisfaction. Allowances also have a positive and significant effect on organizational performance and job satisfaction. These findings affirm the importance of structured HR practices, particularly clear discipline standards and a transparent allowances system, for building positive work perceptions and maintaining organizational effectiveness. This study provides relevant managerial implications and contributes to the development of HR studies within the hospitality industry.

Abstract

In the context of increasing competition and resource constraints faced by micro-enterprises, effective cost management and production efficiency have become crucial for business sustainability, particularly when aligned with Islamic economic principles. This study aims to analyze the short-term cost structure and the implementation of production efficiency based on Islamic economics at the Ummuza Brownies Bakar Store as a micro-enterprise case. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews with the owner and employees, participatory observation of operational activities, and document analysis of financial reports and cost records. Data were analyzed thematically to identify fixed and variable cost management practices as well as efficiency strategies applied in the production process. The findings reveal that short-term costs consist of fixed costs, including cashier application subscriptions, employee wages, and transportation expenses, as well as variable costs such as raw materials, packaging, energy consumption, and promotion costs. Cost management is conducted in a structured manner and adjusted to production volume to minimize inefficiencies and waste. The study concludes that production efficiency at Ummuza Brownies Bakar is not solely oriented toward cost optimization but also emphasizes compliance with Islamic values, including halal assurance, transparency, fairness, and the avoidance of riba and isrāf, indicating that sharia-based efficiency can serve as a sustainable strategy for enhancing both economic performance and ethical business practices in micro-enterprises.

Abstract

This study examines the configuration of psychological and organizational attributes Job Satisfaction, Job Stress, Organizational Commitment, and Work-Family Conflict that collectively shape employee Turnover Intention. While often studied in pairs or with single mediators, a significant gap exists in understanding how attitudinal and life-domain mechanisms operate in parallel to explain withdrawal behavior. The purpose of this research is to deconstruct and quantify these relationships, specifically evaluating the dual mediating roles of Organizational Commitment and Work-Family Conflict. Employing a quantitative approach, survey data were collected from 38 respondents. Multiple regression analysis tested the direct effects, and parallel mediation analysis was conducted using Hayes’ PROCESS macro. The results revealed that Job Satisfaction significantly reduces Turnover Intention, while Job Stress significantly increases it. Both Organizational Commitment and Work-Family Conflict serve as significant parallel mediators. Organizational Commitment mediates the effects of both Satisfaction and Stress, while Work-Family Conflict specifically mediates the pathway from Job Stress to Turnover Intention. The dual mediation model demonstrates strong explanatory power. A key limitation is the small sample size, which may affect the statistical power and generalizability of the findings. Future research should employ larger, more diverse samples and longitudinal designs to better establish causality and explore potential contextual moderators of these relationships..
