Abstract

PT. GAA is an international company that employs 4300 employees based in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia. PT. GAA is able to maintain and repair aircraft, ranging from light repair maintenance to overhauls, maintenance and repair of engines, APU (Auxiliary Power Units) and aircraft components, and cabin modifications. The time to complete the repair of APU sometimes exceeds the Turnaround Time (TAT) that is determined which is 45 days. In fact, there are many delays that occur in returning APU to consumers. In this research report applying the Gantt chart, RCA and 5 Whys Analysis methods, to find out the main causes of delays in the repair process through 10 gates and to find out which gate has the longest delay. From the results of the study, it was found that after the 131-9 APU data collection amounted to 30 units, for 1 year, it was found that the gate which experienced the longest delay was Gate 5, Gate 3, Gate 8 and Gate. 7 and the main cause is the limited ability to repair the APU, the lack of personnel ready to work and the technical problems that occur during APU testing and limited assembly space, equipment for APU assembly and supplies.

Abstract

Efficiency and effectivity enhancement is a problem of every company. Material stocks optimization is an effort for this problem, and it can be done by choosing the best system, when the material be used for production and needed to control material stocks. The purpose of this study is to analyze inventory problem using dynamic system simulation (Powersim). The application of some scenarios results in references as a policy formula in considerations. In the research case at Furniture Corporation, by applying material order interval change scenario, the result is a saving of cost of total production by 5,808 %.Keywords: Dynamic System Simulation, Material Stocks Optimization, Order Interval

Abstract

Instrument is one of device that can be used as a tool to measure an object or collect data about a variable data collected through a particular instrument can then be described and attached to or used to test the hypothesis. In this study, these instrumen develop to meet the academic requirements to pass the higher education level. The data use in this study design by the available instrument and can also use as a self-made instrument. Instrument that has been available in general is already considered standard instrument to collect data specific variables. We can adjust the basis of the theory by using a standard instrument. In addition, the construct variables measured in the instrument must be in accordance with variable measuring. But if the standard instrument is not available, then the instrument must be develop by the researcher. Research instrument can be used to measure a variety of purposes both in nature and non-test test. The test is defined as the tools used to measure the knowledge or mastery of a set of measuring object and the content of certain materials. While non-test is a tool used to observe the phenomenon that is done through observation. Keywords: Metode Thurstone, Tes Potensi Akademik, Validitas Butir

Abstract

This paper discussed modification of men’s brief underwear which already exists in the market. The modification allowed to change the sectional design of brief underwear into modular form. In the process of modification, the additional component is required for the joint component where the joint component sewed to the waist section of the underwear both left and right. The method would use in this paper are Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and House of Quality (HOQ). Modified products are provided with additional hook and eye-type components, commonly found on women's bra. The additional components increase the total price to be paid for a modified product of Rp 26,000 per unit.

Abstract

This research aims to improve the quality of processes and products on PT Rackindo Setara Perkasa, especially in Meja A edging process. This research is using six sigma method with the steps of DMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve, control). The results of this research is there are three types of defects that found in the edging process. The defects are existing on paper connection, paper edging is not long enough and the maal edging is stuck. Based on the Pareto diagram, the improvements focused on the problem of paper connection and paper edging that is not long enough. Both defects are analyzed using the fishbone diagram to describe the causes of defects. From the analysis that uses 5W1H and solution tree, the conclusion of this study are the identification of several factors that cause defects, and recommendations for improvement in edging process, by making a training for the operators of edging process, making the written SOP on edging machine, making instructions about the engine setting, additional facilities on the roller of edging machine and the addition of compressor unit. By doing the improvement, it is expected an increase of sigma value from 4,22 into 4,71.Keywords: Six Sigma, DMAIC, Statistical Tools, Capability Process, 5W1H

Abstract

The development of technology which continues to increase rapidly has an impact on the internal processing of a company that is required to run faster. Information system technology is the main solution as a tool for activities in a company that is faster and more practical, and allows obtaining data that is more valid, precise and minimizes errors. PT Asahi Fibreglass is a company in Jakarta which started its business from 2001 which is engaged in manufacturing and marketing products for the needs of fiberglass products for industrial, residential, building and property needs. In operational activities of PT. Asahi Fibreglass has several obstacles in the process of recording stock items which still use a book-based recording method which makes recording look messy, there are differences in recording the physical stock of goods in the warehouse with the recording of goods recorded in a Microsoft Excel file, there are missing or tucked data because it still uses manual methods and is still book-based. The purpose of creating a web-based inventory information system at PT Asahi Fibreglass is a system improvement in regulating the flow or path of the process of in and out of warehouse goods that will replace the old inventory system that still uses Microsoft Excel, as well as speed up the process of making reports, and minimize errors in the inventory recording process.

Abstract

Isotonic beverages, known as energetic drinks, vitamins and serves to replace the ions of the body have long been sold in Indonesia with the various brands. This study seeks to determine whether isotonic drinks branded as Vitazone, Mizone and Pocari Sweat still fit the image initially or not. This study uses primary data from filling the questionnaire by 160 respondents. Data were analyzed using Cochran test. From the test results already known that isotonic drinks are not regarded as energetic drinks, vitamin and ion replaces the body again, but almost the same with drinks relieving thirst with delicious flavors that are easily found in stores at an affordable price. Keywords: Cochran Test, Positioning, Isotonic Beverages

Abstract

This preliminary study aims to compare production capacity at the family business of bricks at Sokaraja District, Banyumas Regency. The majority of the businesses are done traditionally with family business managerial-based norms. The method used is the cost estimation analysis and the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method to calculate the statistical significance of production among SMEs. In addition, based on statistical analysis there are significant differences among the three bricks SMEs for production capacity. The implications of these calculations can be used as an initial step to consider in general determining the logistics conditions, sales strategies, and the role of succession in the family business. In practice, increasing production capacity, reducing production costs, and product innovation can be achieved if the involvement of family members were optimal to ensure and enhance the business’s sustainability.

Abstract

Prediction of downtime and lifetime data for gantry cranes in a container terminal is a crucial concern for port terminals due to the requirement for maintenance planning and capital expenditure. Correct estimation of lifetime behavior for gantry cranes is complex since multiple cranes are involved, each with different costs, capacities; installation, and retirement dates. This paper develops statistically-oriented predictions for the lifetimes of container terminals company fleet of gantry cranes. Data records on downtime for cranes were collected and analyzed using Weibull, normal, and Rayleigh distributions regarding a port in southwestern Nigeria. The downtime, probability density function, cumulative density function, reliability, and hazard rate were analyzed for three shape functions of Weibull, β=0.5, 1, and 3. The same was analyzed for Rayleigh and normal distribution functions. The mean downtime was 30.58 hrs. The highest PDF, CDF, R(t) for all β =0.5, 1, and 3, were 0.26, 0.78, .030 and 13.13, respectively. However, the least values for these parameters are 0.01, 0.71, 0.25, and 0.04, respectively. These values are means for thirty data points and concern the Weibull distribution function. For the Rayleigh distribution, the mean PDF, CDF, R(t) and h(t) are 0.002, 0.042, 0.958 and 0.002 while they are 0.002, 0.456, 0.542 and 35.755 for the normal distribution. This article provides new insights into the lifetime analysis of gantry cranes in a container terminal.
