Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of financial ratios and firm size on stock prices of companies in the oil and gas refinery mining subsector listed on the IDX for the period 2018-2023. In this study, stock prices are used as the dependent variable, with 5 types of independent variables: Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Return on Asset, Earnings Per Share, and firm size. The method used is the multiple linear regression analysis model. Hypothesis testing using the model feasibility test (F-test) is deemed suitable for measuring the independent variables, namely current ratio, debt to equity ratio, debt to asset ratio, return on equity, earnings per share, and firm size against the dependent variable, which is the stock price of companies in the oil and gas refinery mining subsector. The data was processed using SPSS Statistics 25. From the results, it can be concluded that the current ratio, debt to equity ratio, debt to asset ratio, return on equity, earnings per share, and firm size do not simultaneously affect the stock price. Partially, the current ratio has a negative and significant effect on stock prices, while the debt to equity ratio, debt to asset ratio, return on equity, earnings per share, and firm size have a negative and insignificant effect on stock prices. Future researchers are expected to consider other variables and use different sectors as well to update the year of their research.

Abstract

Zakat is a form of charity that must be done by Muslims to help those in need, but in this digital era, the emergence of online fraud has the potential to reduce trust in zakat organizers and have an impact on a person's willingness to pay zakat online. This study aimed to explore the effect of trust in fundraisers and cyber-fraud perceptions on the willingness to pay zakat online by considering the moderating variables of perceived behavioral control and media literacy. This study was a quantitative study, with a sample of 237 Muslims in Indonesia who have been victims of fraud on social media. The research data obtained through a survey mechanism from June to October 2024 were then analyzed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results of this study showed that trust in fundraisers had a significant effect on the willingness to pay zakat online when control variables such as age group, gender, education level, and marital status are considered. Without considering the control variables, this effect was not significant. On the other hand, cyber-fraud perception did not significantly affect willingness to pay zakat in both models, although there was a negative tendency. Furthermore, perceived behavioral control does not act as a moderator in the relationship between trust in fundraisers and cyber-fraud perception on willingness to pay zakat. Media literacy showed a significant moderating effect in the model without control variables in the influence between trust in fundraisers and willingness to pay zakat online.

Abstract

The growing significance of English in the service industry requires vocational graduates to have not only hospitality technical competence but also English communication skill. This study investigates the relationship between English proficiency which is measured using TOEIC score and students’ internship performance especially those working on hospitality industry. It involves students in the English department at Politeknik Negeri Sriwijaya who have taken their internship in several hospitality industries including hotels, airport, and train stations. English proficiency was measured using TOEIC placement test prior to the internship. Moreover, students’ performance during the internship program was evaluated by their direct supervisors using standardized assessment provided by English Department. The result of data analysis shows that there is a moderate positive correlation (r = 0,54, p < 0,01) between students’ English proficiency and their internship performance. These results suggest that TOEIC scores may be used as a basis for creating focused language help as well as a placement indication.  Additionally, they emphasize how crucial task-based and role-specific English learning is for vocational education.

Abstract

Leadership plays a vital role in shaping the effectiveness of student organizations as platforms for developing future leaders. However, limited attention has been given to the specific leadership attitudes expected by members toward their organizational chairperson in non-formal educational settings. This study aims to identify the ideal leadership attitudes perceived by members of student organizations at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, UIN K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid Pekalongan. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with sixteen participants from six organizations and were analyzed thematically. The findings reveal five key attitudes communicativeness, critical thinking, assertiveness, inclusiveness and responsibility, and motivation as essential elements of ideal leadership. These results suggest that effective leadership in student organizations requires not only managerial competence but also empathy, emotional intelligence, and consistency. The study recommends integrating these attitudes into leadership development programs to foster inclusive, reflective, and empowering leadership behaviors that enhance organizational harmony and member motivation.
