Abstract

It is undeniable that the high unemployment caused by the imbalance between the number of employment and labor force encourages people to work as migrant workers. In 2016, East Java province was the third largest supplier of migrants in Indonesia and Tulungagung contributed 4,962 inhabitants. This phenomenon is interesting to analyze the utilization of income sent to families in their country. The data used was a primary data conducted by the survey method to 100 respondents. The selection of research sites (sub-district and village) was carried out by simple random sampling while the respondent selection was done by systematic random sampling technique. To deepen the findings of data conducted indepth interviews with 10 informants.  Moreover, the results revealed that remittances were used by the family for daily consumption needs, investment in children’s education, religious ceremonies, home reparation, production activities and others. The authors recommend establishing a "migrant family community" comprising: (1). Rehabilitation of the social culture of migrant workers' families and the provision of "business motivation training", (2). Entrepreneurship training, (3). Development of business networks. Keywords: Migrant Workers, Remittances Use, Welfare

Abstract

This research aims to determine the performance of local government policies in improving solid waste services in the environmental cleanliness and gardening service of Kediri city. Based on Law No.18 of 2008 concerning waste management, regional regulation policy No. 3 of 2015 concerning waste management in Kediri City. Based on this regulation, it is very important to strengthen solid waste cleaning services in Kediri City. This research method used is a qualitative research method. Data is obtained through observation and analysis from secondary data and primary data. The results of this study indicate that the performance indicators of cleaning services on road sweeping are still less efficient and the technical work of road sweeping is still less productive, as a support for the infrastructure for waste collection equipment or waste collection from TPS / TPS 3R to TPA is still not optimal, this is due to limitations equipment in the environmental cleanliness and gardening service of Kediri City. From the results of the researchers, it can be concluded that the local government policy in improving the performance of cleaning services in Kediri City have not reached performance standards and the level of cleaning services cannot be said to be efficient and effective.Key Word: Public Policy Performance, Garbage Cleaning Services

Abstract

General science and religion are two areas of knowledge that have always been debated. Until there are assumptions that confirm each other. Actually what is going on in the world of education so there is a dichotomy of science like this. Historical searches of both may be able to find adequate answers. This research reveals the history of the separation of science (General and Religion) through fragments made by humans and especially colonial powers who deliberately divided the position of each science for the convenience and necessity of early detection of chaos. From history can be seen how religion is the upstream of all forms of teaching and education processes that existed in Indonesia before the arrival of modern sciences as it is today. Teachers, kiai, ustad, and teachers in certain places enlighten their communities using their skilled hands through religious studies. The basic religions contained in moral knowledge, natural knowledge, counting, philosophy, and mystical science are conveyed very clearly and unequivocally. Keywords : Dichotomy, General Knowledge, Religious Knowledge
