Abstract

Maternal health serves as a key indicator in assessing the quality of healthcare services and the success of a country's health development efforts. It encompasses not only the safety of mothers during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, but also reflects the accessibility, effectiveness, and coordination within the healthcare system involving multiple stakeholders. Despite various intervention efforts, maternal mortality remains a significant challenge in Indonesia. According to the 2023 Indonesian Health Survey (SKI), the maternal mortality ratio (MMR) in Indonesia stands at 189 per 100,000 live births, which is still above the national target set in the 2020–2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), namely 183 per 100,000 live births. A thorough identification of maternal health stakeholders is essential not only to understand the extent of national support for maternal health issues, but also to design effective stakeholder collaboration to accelerate the achievement of maternal health targets. This case study in Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), identifies at least seven potential stakeholders for collaboration: the District Health Office, hospitals, community health centers (Puskesmas), the Office of Population and Family Planning, village governments, social organizations, higher education institutions, and the business sector. Each of these stakeholders has a distinct and valuable role to play.

Abstract

Self-medication is a therapeutic process that involves everything from recognizing symptoms to selecting and using medications. Common or mild illnesses, such as mild fever, mild stomach ache, and diarrhea, are usually treated through self- medication. Diarrhea is a condition involving abnormal or unusual stool production, characterized by an increase in body fluid volume and bowel movement frequency of three times or more. If self-medication is performed improperly, there is a risk of further symptoms arising from the improper use of medications, which can lead to fatal consequences such as death. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge levels and self-medication behavior for diarrhea in infants at the Laras Hati Sewon Clinic. This study uses an observational method with a descriptive analytical approach and a cross-sectional design, employing simple random sampling as the sampling technique. The sample consisted of 30respondents. The results showed that 77% of mothers at Laras Hati Sewon Primary Clinic had a “good” level of knowledge, 20% had a ‘fair’ level, and 3% had a “poor” level. The level of self-medication behavior among mothers was found to be 64% in the “good” category, 23% in the ‘adequate’ category, and 13% in the “poor” category. The results of the chi-square test analysis showed that there is a relationship between higher education and professional background of mothers, which makes them more effective in managing diarrhea, thereby influencing self-medication behavior in infants, with a p-value < 0.005

Abstract

Bleeding during childbirth and the postpartum period is partly caused by anemia during pregnancy. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 40% of maternal mortality rates in developing countries are related to anemia during pregnancy. One of the causes of anemia in pregnant women is non-compliance with ron supplement consumption. Compliance with iron tablet consumption by pregnant women can ensure an increase in hemoglobin levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of compliance with iron supplement consumption on the incidence of anemia in pregnant women at the Piyungan Community Health Center. The research method used was a quantitative experimental design. The design used in this study is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study population consists of all pregnant women who underwent examinations at the Piyungan Health Center, totaling 668 pregnant women. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the study indicate that there is an association between compliance with iron supplement consumption and the incidence of anemia in pregnant women, as evidenced by the asymptotic significance value of p = 0.000. Health centers are encouraged to continue implementing iron supplementation programs as part of routine antenatal care and ensure that pregnant women regularly consume iron supplements, with a minimum of 90 tablets during pregnancy. Additionally, educational programs should be enhanced to emphasize the importance of iron supplements in improving compliance among pregnant women as a preventive measure against anemia.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Imunisasi TT, Calon Pengantin, Faktor yang Berpengaruh ABSTRACT             Tetanus Toxoid (TT) immunization for prospective brides is a preventive measure to protect mothers and infants from tetanus infection. However, the acceptance rate of this immunization varies, influenced by several factors. This study employs a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consists of 55 prospective brides at KUA Plupuh District, Sragen Regency. Data analysis was conducted using multiple logistic regression tests to determine the most influential factor affecting TT immunization attitudes. The majority of respondents had a higher education level (85.5%), were employed (65.5%), and had good knowledge about TT immunization (58.2%). However, 54.4% of respondents reported poor support from healthcare professionals. The analysis results indicate that the most influential factor in TT immunization attitudes is healthcare support, with a regression coefficient (B) of 2.331, an AOR value of 0.097 (95% CI: 0.011-0.832), and a p-value of 0.033. The final regression test showed a p-value of 0.008 with a Nagelkerke R Square of 0.198, meaning that healthcare support influences TT immunization attitudes by 19.8%, while other factors account for the remaining variance. Healthcare support plays a significant role in fostering a positive attitude toward TT immunization among prospective brides. Therefore, enhancing education and increasing the active involvement of healthcare professionals can be an effective strategy to expand TT immunization coverage as part of healthy pregnancy preparation.   Keywords: TT immunization, prospective brides, influencing factors
