Abstract

Cassava as the third staple food for the people of Indonesia after rice and corn, is the raw material for making ‘tape singkong”. Agroindustry Peuyeum Abas Sawargi located in District Cimenyan, Bandung Regency buy cassava almost every day to make “tape singkong”. It's not economical and inefficient; therefore good cassava inventory management is required. The purpose of this research was to determine the amount of economical cassava inventory and to know when to re-order the cassava so that the total cost of inventory to be a minimum, as well as comparing the actual cost of inventory to those based on economical cassava inventory. The research design was qualitative with case study technique. The collected data consists of primary data year 2017 and secondary data which were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively by Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Reorder Point (ROP) methods.. The results showed that the amount of cassava inventory that must be available was 3,264 kg with the frequency of ordering 61 times a year, while the re-ordering of cassava must be carried out when the remaining cassava stock of 2,240 kg. As a result, total inventory costs decreased by almost 48% within a year.  Thus, the production process becomes more efficient and in the long run the agroindustry can be expected to be more competitive.

Abstract

Cocoa is one of the estate crop whose role is quite important for the national economy, particularly as a provider of employment,  income and foreign exchange. The high export opportunities of cocoa beans has not been followed by the production of cocoa beans in Indonesian. The production of dried cacao  beans in Indonesia is still low. The low productivity of seeds generally caused by  Cherelle wilt of cacao. Wilting occurs due to inability of the cherelle to compete with the other cherelle in absorbing nutrients. Fertilization is an effort to maintain and fulfill the nutrients in the plants. This research is aimed to assess the effect of fertilization using cocoa pod husk and NPK tablets fertilization on cocoa crop yields. This experiment was conducted at PT. PP. Bajabang Indonesia, Cipeundeuy, West Bandung regency from December 2016 to March 2017. The experiment was conducted using a Simple Randomized Block Design that consists 10 treatments: control, single N, P, K fertilizer  297 g/tree, cocoa pod husk  9 kg/tree, cocoa pod husk  9 kg/tree + single N, P, K fertilizer 297 g/tree, cocoa pod husk 18 kg/tree + single N, P, K fertilizer  297 g/tree, cocoa pod husk 9 kg/tree  + NPK tablet fertilizer 20 tablets/tree, NPK tablet fertilizer 20 tablets/tree,  cocoa pod husk  9 kg/tree  +  NPK tablet fertilizer 10 tablets/tree, cocoa pod husk 18 kg/tree + NPK tablet fertilizer 20 tablets/ tree, cocoa pod husk 18 kg/ tree + NPK tablet fertilizer 10 tablets/tree. The result of experiment showed that there was an influence of cocoa pod husk and NPK tablet fertilizer on cocoa fruit weight at 12 MSP, that is cocoa pod husk 9 kg/tree  +  NPK  tablet fertilizer 20  tablets/tree.  Number of cherelle wilted  at 12 MSP with cocoa pod  husk 9 kg/tree  +  NPK  tablet fertilizer 20  tablets/tree.

Abstract

The goal of this research is to measure the competitive advantage in tea marketing with a case study on PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII West Java, and describing the deciding factors in the improvement of competitive advantage in tea marketing competition. The method used in this research is case study with quantitative approach using marketing plus strategy audit by comparing the values of Company Alignment Index (CAI) and Competitive Setting Index (CSI). The calculation of both indexes is obtained from questionnaires about the confidence level of the respondents who manage the marketing policies of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara VIII. By comparing CSI value which is consisted of Customer (C1), Competitor (C3), Change-Driven (C4) against CAI which is consisted of Company (C2) which would be the measure of the competitive advantage of the company’s marketing strategy. From the analysis results, it can be seen that a negative gap of -1.09 where the value of CAI < CSI would mean that the company does not possess the competitive advantage in tea marketing strategy, and is relatively left behind in terms of tea industry competition. It can be learned that the cause of such low score in tea marketing strategy is caused by the low score of segmentation = 1 in the strategy, value with a score of 1.72 in the process, tactics which is consisted of differentiation = 2.63 and marketing mix = 2.63. To achieve competitive advantage in an ideal markting strategy, the factors that contribute to the marketing strategy competitive advantage value should be considered in the implementation of tea marketing strategy.
