Abstract

Caring is central to healthcare services, encompassing empathy, focus, and professionalism. Caring enhances patient satisfaction, professionalism, and the quality of service directly. Moreover, compassion reduces anxiety related to sickness, trauma, or transitions in life. This research aimed to investigate nurses' views on caring actions in the maternity unit. This research employed a quantitative descriptive method through a descriptive survey. The population included all 34 nurses in the maternity department, comprising 20 postpartum nurses and 14 neonatal nurses. The method of sampling employed was total sampling. The tool used was the Caring Behaviors Assessment Tool Nursing Version Short Form (CBAN-SF) to evaluate nurses' views on caring behavior, comprising 27 questions. The findings indicated that the average perception of nurses' caring behavior was 124, with a standard deviation of 9.24. The key elements in caring behavior were the supportive/protective/corrective environment (factor 5) and the assistance for human needs factor (factor 6). This was succeeded by humanism/faith-hope/sensitivity (factor 1), assistance/trust (factor 2), expression of positive/negative emotions (factor 3), and education/learning (factor 4). In contrast, the least was in the existential/phenomenological/spiritual forces factor (factor 7). This research suggests ongoing observation of nurses' caregiving actions as a foundation for enhancing services in the maternity unit.

Abstract

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in hospital management continues to grow to support information management, improve operational efficiency, and enhance service quality. This study aimed to analyze the areas of hospital management that most frequently utilize AI, its contribution to administrative efficiency, its impact on service quality, and the challenges associated with its implementation. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted following the PRISMA guidelines. Articles were retrieved from Google Scholar, Garuda, and PubMed between 2022 and 2026. Of the 172 articles identified, 25 met the inclusion criteria and were included in the analysis. The results showed that AI is primarily applied in electronic medical records, clinical and managerial decision support systems, human resource management, logistics and pharmacy management, and telemedicine services. AI helps accelerate administrative processes, reduce repetitive workloads, improve data accuracy, enhance diagnostic accuracy, increase service responsiveness, and improve patient satisfaction. However, its implementation still faces challenges, including limited digital infrastructure, inadequate human resource competencies, regulatory issues, data security concerns, and budget constraints. AI has the potential to become a strategic solution for improving administrative efficiency and healthcare service quality when supported by adequate infrastructure, skilled personnel, appropriate regulations, and effective data governance.

Abstract

Hospital service quality is influenced by various factors, one of which is the workload experienced by healthcare workers. Increasing healthcare service demands, combined with an insufficient number of healthcare personnel and growing job complexity, may lead to excessive workloads. This study aimed to analyze the impact of healthcare workers' workload on the quality of hospital services. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analyzing 20 relevant scientific articles obtained from national and international sources. The literature review findings indicate that excessive workload tends to be associated with decreased performance and productivity among healthcare workers, as well as increased work stress, fatigue, and burnout. Furthermore, poorly managed workloads may affect patient safety, healthcare workers' job satisfaction, and hospital service efficiency. Several studies also revealed that organizational support, work motivation, and healthcare workers' competencies can help reduce the negative effects of workload. In conclusion, effective workload management through proper workforce planning and appropriate task distribution is essential for improving the quality of hospital services.

Abstract

Conventional radiography is a diagnostic imaging modality widely used in healthcare services. Variations in exposure parameters can influence the radiation dose received by patients; therefore, an assessment is required to support patient dose optimization. This study aimed to evaluate *Entrance Surface Air Kerma* (ESAK) values, compare them with the Indonesian Diagnostic Reference Levels (TPDI), and analyze ESAK differences based on the type of radiographic examination. A descriptive observational study design with a quantitative approach was implemented at the Radiology Department of Tangerang Regional General Hospital (RSUD). The study sample consisted of 50 adult patients undergoing chest (PA), abdomen (AP), pelvis (AP), lumbar spine (AP), and skull (AP) examinations. ESAK estimation was performed using CALDose_X software, and data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that the highest mean ESAK value was found in the lumbar spine AP examination (1.87 mGy), while the lowest was in the chest PA examination (0.31 mGy). A total of 84% of patients had values below the TPDI, while 16% exceeded the reference value.

Abstract

The issuance of a Visum Et Repertum (VeR) is a form of medical record utilization for criminal investigations and must comply with applicable regulations and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the release of medical record information. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of medical record information release procedures in issuing VeR for police purposes at RSUD Welas Asih, West Java Province, identify the obstacles encountered, and describe improvement efforts. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, involving the Head of Medical Records, the Head of the Medical Records Unit, and medical record officers. The study focused on the implementation of medical record information release for Emergency Department cases in 2025. The results show that the implementation generally complies with the 2022 SOP and the Indonesian Ministry of Health Regulation (Permenkes) No. 24 of 2022. Compliance is demonstrated through official requests from investigators, the use of medical records as the basis for VeR preparation, authorization by the responsible physician, the hospital's official stamp, document numbering, proper archiving, and documented handover to investigators. It was concluded that the system is already well-structured but requires strengthened coordination with the police to ensure legal certainty and service quality
