Kampung adat Cireundeu, diambil dari nama tanaman Cireundeu yang banyak tumbuh di wilayah tersebut dan dipercaya memiliki khasiat untuk penyembuhan suatu penyakit. Kampung adat Cireundeu dihuni oleh kurang lebih 60 kepala keluarga, dengan luas wilayah 64 hektar. Kepercayaan yang diwariskan leleuhur adalah Sunda Wiwitan atau Sunda Karuhun atau disebut juga Agama Djawa Sunda. Kepercayaan itu dibawa oleh Pangeran Madrais yang berasal dari Kesultanan Gebang, Cirebon Timur sejak tahun 1918. Masyarakat kampong adat Cireudeu ini pun melakukan upacara satu sura yaitu merupakan hari raya bagi pemeluk aliran kepercayaan. Keunikan dari kampong ini adalah mengkonsumsi ketela atau singkong (rasi) sebagai makanan pokok. . Semakin tingginya arus modernisasi banyak membuat suatu adat istiadat terdahulu menjadi ditinggalkan atau bahkan hilang. Akan tetapi hiingga saat ini masyrakat adat Cireundeu diyakini masih memegang adat istiadatnya yaitu kepercayaan,upacara ataupun ritual kepercayaan Sunda Wiwitan atau Sunda Karuhun, mengkonsumsi rasi atau makanan berbahan dasar singkong sebagai pengganti nasi, serta mengikuti aturan dalam pengolahan lahan. Perlu diketahui sejauh mana konsistensi masyarakat adat Cireundeu dalam melestarikan adat istiadatnya tersebut. Untuk mengetahui hal tersebut diperlukan penelitian untuk mengukur sejauh mana konsistensi itu berjalan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif-deskriptif. Perolehan data diambil dari wawancara serta kuisioner pada sampel masyarakat adat Cireundeu. Perolahan data ditabulasikan, diukur secara dengan menggunakan skala normative, selanjutnya diuji validitas serta reliabilitasnya. Berdasarkan olah data diatas untuk pengukuran sikap terhadap fenomena social menggunakan perhitungan rating scale. Berdasarkan pada data yang diperoleh didapatkan hasil prosentase masyarakat adat Cireundeu masih melestarikan adat istiadatnya sebanyak 75,83%. Designing Roadside Noise Barrier Jason Obadiah

Noise is the common problem in the residential area, whether it came from events, vehicles, construction sites, or urban area. The most affected residential area are usually the ones which adjacent to the highway or a road. When someone is overexposed from the noise, this could lead into many health problems. This is why a noise barrier is essential to be built along the road. problems regarding the noise barrier is that although the barrier can attenuates the noise from the traffic, there are other sound source, or in this case, noise source other than the traffic such as the airplane. This problem mostly happened on the residential ground around an airport. One of the solutions for these problems is by using vegetation as additional noise barriers. By doubling the barrier (noise barrier - vegetation) the attenuations will probably much higher, in accounts that the vegetation is much higher than the barrier so that if there are multiple floor buildings, the floors above will also provide with noise insulations. Although, it would be more appropriate to use acoustic treatments to the buildings. The other solution is that by using the concept of constructing a louver or cap atop the wall that is directed back toward the noise source. This concept follows the theory that such a design should inhibit shadow zone diffraction filling in sound behind the noise barrier. Keywords: noise, sound, barrier, attenuation

Arsitektur penjara merupakan pengejawantahan hukuman dan kekuasaan atas pelaku tindakan kriminal melalui hirarki dan susunan tata ruang bangunan dengan kontrol perilaku dan persepsi ruang. Sebagai sebuah institusi hukum, penjara berperan penting dalam memberikan efek jera dan membina para pelaku tindak kriminal untuk menjadi lebih baik, khususnya bagi remaja pria di Lembaga Pemasyarakat Anak, Tangerang. Maka, sejauh apa arsitektur penjara memengaruhi persepsi ruang dan perilaku remaja pria? Peneliti menggunakan (1) metode kuantitatif dengan data statistik, kuesioner dan gambar arsitektur untuk mengetahui latar belakang dan karakteristik fisik dan sosial arsitektur penjara dan remaja pria; dan (2) metode kualitatif dengan pengamatan keseharian kehidupan penjara dan pendekatan personal ke beberapa remaja pria untuk mengetahui cara pandang akan ruang dan dasar perilaku remaja pria. Analisis data menggunakan beberapa teori tentang pengaruh lingkung bangun ke perilaku dan persepsi, konsep penjara, dan arsitektur penjara. Hasil penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemahaman hubungan dan pengaruh arsitektur penjara dengan persepi ruang dan perilaku remaja pria, sehingga arsitek dan pemerintah mendapatkan gambaran kebutuhan ruang dan keefektifan susunan hirarki ruang dan pengawasan di penjara sebagai bahan perbaikan atau rancangan baru arsitektur penjara bagi remaja pria. Forced Eviction is one of issues that keep on lingering around our society. The victim of this event usually doesn’t have much option to choose or fight over. Based on this issue and a short story about the same issue, “Maaf dari Esti” was created. The story will be visualized with gothic style to picture the quirk and sadness, not only the environtment but aso the character. Producing For A Short Film: Short Film Abroad as A Study Case Bernadus Yoseph Setyo Prabowo

ABROAD is a short film, which tells a story of an Indonesian student, Priyo (23) who lived in Brisbane. He had to live in his yellow car, after finding out that his scholarship had been corrupted. Priyo began his new journey when he met Pamela (17), a runaway musician who was stuck in Brisbane for a night during her trip to Sydney. Their friendship grows stronger when they played music and performed together at Brisbane streets. Unfortunately, Priyo’s car was vandalized due to his religion. Later on, their friendship was tested as they explore the city for the first time. The film explores the journey to find the meanings of passion, dream, and faith. Depicted by the main character who is an Indonesian student, the film attempts to share the experience of students who chose to travel outside their home country, in search of better education for better life. Although most part of the story is fiction, the main character (Priyo) is inspired by the real life experience of an Indonesia student in Canberra. He lived in his car for two year while trying to complete his master degree. Dramas that were presented in the storyline were based on the writer’s observation toward his surroundings, friends, and communities. Living and studying in another country could bring great experiences to international students, but at the same time, living through differences in values and beliefs could be a challenging task. The meaning of ‘abroad’ is not just about people who live outside their home country. But, it could also depict people’s experience when they try to get out of their comfort zone in order to achieve a higher goal in their life. Based on these reasons, the main targeted audiences of the film are people from the age of 25 and above. Additionally, the film also attempts to target local audiences, especially parents, as a bridge between parents and children. Hopefully it could prevent the rising number of runaway’s children. The outline of the production begins with the script development, which will be completed by the end of November. As soon as the final script is done, the production will proceed with the pre-production from December until early January. This process includes assembling the crew, finding cast, art design, and composing music. The crew will consist of GFS students for the production crew and some Indonesian students who voluntarily want to help in funding and marketing. There are some challenges in this project. Firstly, the project has to combine two different cultures between Indonesia and Australia through out the process. However, having an Australian as the director and an Indonesian as the producer can solve these. The other problem is related to the sensitive issue around religion, especially Islam. Recently, the religion feels being judged in Australia because of the action of ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq and Syria) and ISIL (Islamic State in Iraq and Levant). Penelitian ini difokuskan untuk memaparkan proses perancangan huruf dari pengunaan 3 teknik yang berbeda. Hasil dari perancangan ini adalah huruf Latin dari adaptasi objek nusantara. Desain huruf baru ini merupakan bagian dari proses pencarian identitas baru untuk menambah salah satu khasanah budaya Indonesia. Subjek penelitian dipersempit pada 3 font karya mahasiswa Font Design Universitas Multimedia Nusantara pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017 yang mewakili ketiga teknik yang dipaparkan dan hasil hurufnya sudah melalui tahap kuratorial dari tim dosen pengampu mata kuliah Font Design. Teknik-teknik perancangan huruf diteliti dengan metode kualitatif melalui studi literatur dan diterapkan pada proses perancangan karya huruf Latin. Selanjutnya, dilakukan metode komparatif antara ketiga tehnik yang merujuk pada proses serta hasil karya huruf baru tersebut agar dapat memberikan gambaran bagaimana kelebihan maupun kekurangan dari pengunaan teknik tersebut bagi calon type designer. This paper departs from Raymond Williams’ notion of ‘epochal analysis,’ an analysis that functions to see a cultural process as a cultural system in the dialectic of the dominant, the residual, and the emergent. It is true that what Williams meant by ‘the dominant’ in his proposition is either the feudal culture and the bourgeois culture and their transition, but he also says that the epochal analysis functions to sense a movement in its connection to the future and the past. Williams wrote (1978, p. 121): “…Its methodology is preserved for the very different function of historical analysis, in which a sense of movement within what is ordinarily abstracted as a system is crucially necessary, especially if it is to connect with the future as well as with the past. Arsitektur Modern merupakan bentukan Arsitektur yang hadir pada periode Arsitektur yang menawarkan teknologi konstruksi yang dapat diproduksi secara massal. Salah satu implementasinya adalah, kehadirannya ke dalam citra bentuk geometri sederhana tanpa ornamen, serta tata ruang berimplikasi pada fungsi ke dalam struktur organisasi yang menyesuaikan dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Bentukan yang muncul pada Arsitektur Modern salah satunya adalah, langgam International Style. Langgam ini mengkategorikan dan memperluas pandangan secara umum tentang implementasi Arsitektur yang dapat diterapkan pada lingkung geografis di seluruh dunia. Permasalahan umum yang teridentifikasi adalah terputusnya rantai entitas yang menghubungkan antara Arsitektur, dengan lingkung binaan yang berada di sekitarnya. Beberapa masalah yang muncul dalam perwujudannya seperti bentuk eksplorasi teknologi konstruksi modern yang memiliki kecenderungan mengaburkan nilai – nilai dan jati diri Arsitektur lokal, serta permasalahan iklim mikro yang patut diselesaikan melalui eksplorasi terhadap ciri fisik geografi dan iklim dari suatu wilayah. Regionalisme merupakan suatu bentuk cara pandang Arsitektur dari suatu wilayah setempat, yang memiliki ciri – ciri, sistem tata nilai, dan metode implementasi yang unik untuk diterapkan, dan hadir sebagai wujud kritik terhadap hadirnya Arsitektur Modern beserta dengan International-Style nya. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan peranan dari Arsitektur Regionalisme, ditinjau dari berbagai unsur dan elemen yang membentuk sistem lingkung binaan yang bersinergi dan kontekstual dengan lingkungan setempat. Studi dalam kajian ini menggunakan metode analisis deskriptif – kualitatif, melalui pendekatan preseden beberapa karya Arsitektur Regionalism sebagai contoh kasus terapan. Hasil dari kajian ini adalah, Regionalisme hadir sebagai unsur penyelaras dan penyeimbang, yang menciptakan sebuah dialog yang saling bersinergi antara teknologi, seni, nilai budaya yang berkembang, dengan lingkung alam geografis yang melebur menjadi satu keutuhan dalam realitas Arsitektur. Wall’s adalah perusahan es krim terbesar di Indonesia yang memproduksi es krim dengan merek Paddle Pop yang memiliki karakter kartun singa bernama Paddle Pop yang sangat original dan unik dan akrab dengan generasi milenial (gen y dan z). Pasa awalnya karakter kartun Paddle Pop memiliki visualisasi 2 dimensi pada tahun 2000an, namun seiring berkembangnya jaman karakter Paddle Pop berevolusi menjadi 3 dimensi yang lebih dinamis dan atraktif sehingga semakin akrab dengan konsumen anak-anak. penelitian ini mengkaji komodifikasi karakter kartun sebagai media komunikasi visual pada iklan animasi es krim Paddle pop dan makna visual karakter kartun Singa Paddle Pop pada iklan animasi es krim Paddle Pop melalui pendekatan Critical Discourse Analysis Norman Fairclough dan Semiotika Roland Barthes.

This paper explains the process of constructing visual narration history of 19th century Sulawesi Sea region. It is visualized through storyboard and animatic, as a guidance for short animated film. it is focused on selecting process of the history content and how to visualize it. Literature studies, observasion and interpretation is chosen as the main method of the research. The result is a sequence of event which visualized through storyboard and animatic.
