This research aims to identify and analyze the communication patterns of single parents in post-migrant families in Resapombo Village, Doko District, Blitar Regency. The study employs a qualitative method, utilizing in-depth interview techniques for data collection. Three informants participated in this study, consisting of one father and three mothers, all of whom are single parents from post-migrant families. The findings reveal that the communication patterns of single parents in these families exhibit high levels of conversation and conformity dimensions, indicating a consensual family type with an authoritative parenting style. These parents engage in open dialogues with their children, encouraging discussions while also emphasizing the importance of family values and norms. The authoritative parenting style observed reflects a balance between responsiveness and demandingness, where single parents maintain control while nurturing their children's independence. This study provides valuable insights into the dynamics of communication within post-migrant families, highlighting the unique challenges and adaptations faced by single parents. Understanding these patterns is crucial for developing support systems and interventions tailored to the needs of single-parent post-migrant families. The results of this study contribute to the broader discourse on family communication, especially in the context of migration and its impact on family structures. Future research should explore the long-term effects of these communication patterns on children's development and well-being in post-migrant settings, as well as the role of community support in enhancing family resilience.

Privacy has emerged as a critical subject for media and communication research, especially with the youth's growing use of TikTok as a social networking site. This study aims to describe privacy among active young TikTok users through the perspective of the Contextual Integrity Privacy Theory by Helen Nissenbaum and the Privacy Paradox. This study adopts a qualitative research approach and a single case study. This research was analyzed through in-depth interviews with seven TikTok users aged 15-24. The findings reveal how youth navigate privacy concerns in their data practices, highlighting the role of contextual integrity in shaping their decisions. Participants demonstrated an acute awareness of privacy risks and employed strategies such as selective sharing, pseudonym use, and engagement with privacy tools to safeguard personal information. However, the study also highlights the persistence of the privacy paradox, where the desire for social validation often conflicts with privacy behaviors. These insights contribute to the theoretical discourse on privacy and offer practical recommendations for robusting safer and more transparent digital environments for youth.

With an emphasis toward two popular Indonesian news websites, Kompas.com and Detik.com, this study aims to find out how artificial intelligence (AI) is framed within the framework of Indonesian online news media. This study uses AntConc linguistic analysis tools to do a corpus study on 88 news articles about artificial intelligence in order to expose the linguistic patterns and framing present in the selected news items. The results expose the opposing hopeful and cautions stories the media presents when interacting with artificial intelligence. The positive viewpoints underline how artificial intelligence can boost the healthcare industry, inspire creativity, and raise educational results among other things. These optimistic points of view highlight how important artificial intelligence is in helping to maximize daily activities. Conversely, the cautionary stories presented by critics highlight the major restrictions and possible risks connected to artificial intelligence, including the worrisome possibility of job displacement for many workers, urgent issues about data privacy that compromise personal confidentiality, and ethical conundrums resulting from the application of intelligent systems. Using Indonesia as a case study, this research examines how remote and hybrid work arrangements have impacted employee motivation and organizational communication during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. It presents the lived experiences of workers applying the Self-Determination Theory (SDT), which emphasizes autonomy, competence, and relatedness, and features in-depth interviews with ten professionals across various industries. Thematic analysis identified three prominent themes: flexibility and control of the environment (autonomy), connectedness and inclusion (relatedness), and conditional performance and digital adaptation (competence). Although remote working has led to greater autonomy and work-life integration, it has also caused issues of emotional detachment and ineffective communication, particularly in roles that require high levels of interaction and collaboration. Those findings suggest that workplace designs that meet the basic psychological needs of employees can maintain a high level of motivation and performance. This study is particularly relevant and will help to understand the overall post-pandemic organizational change better, providing practical insights for companies that want to adopt effective hybrid work policies by basing the analysis in the context of Indonesia.

This research examines environmental communication strategies based on local wisdom, focusing on the Lubuk Larangan tradition in Tanjung Belit Village, Riau Province. In the context of global ecological crises, such as water quality degradation, pollution, and climate change, it is essential to explore how local communities have safeguarded their ecosystems. Lubuk Larangan is a tradition that prohibits fishing in certain areas during specific periods, which serves as a conservation practice and as a means of environmental communication that educates the community about the importance of maintaining the balance of nature. The research method used is qualitative with an ethnographic approach, which allows researchers to explore the social and cultural interactions of the community in maintaining this tradition. The results showed that Lubuk Larangan serves as a symbol of cultural identity, supports social ties, and builds collective awareness of the importance of environmental sustainability. Despite modernization and economic pressures, participatory communication and traditional rituals have proven effective in preserving local wisdom. This research provides valuable insights for developing cultural preservation strategies and raising awareness of local traditions' role in maintaining a sustainable environment.

Stand up comedy has now developed from just a means of entertainment into a kind of public space to freely voice aspirations and social criticism. On several occasions, comedians also often reveal material about inequality, injustice, and hypocrisy that occurs in society by highlighting developing issues, in addition, social criticism through stand up comedy has a fairly important role in revealing social realities that are often overlooked. This study aims to determine how Bintang Emon uses semiotic elements to convey social criticism in his stand-up comedy on YouTube. The research method used is the Charles Sanders Peirce semiotic analysis method which focuses on three main elements, namely signs, objects, and interpretations with a qualitative approach. The results of the study showed several findings, including the first that resistance to social criticism in stand-up comedy occurs because of the use of verbal signs such as word choice, analogies and punchlines, as well as non-verbal signs such as gestures and intonation can be interpreted as a form of sarcasm, and the second, stand-up comedy through the YouTube platform becomes a kind of virtual community to spark dialogue in building public awareness and encouraging critical discussion of social and political issues.
