Abstract

The purpose of this research was to solve several problems in the rendering process such as slow rendering time and complex calculations, which caused inefficient rendering. This research analyzed the efficiency in the rendering process. This research was an experimental study by implementing a distributed rendering system with fine-grained and coarse-grained parallel decomposition in computer laboratory. The primary data used was the rendering time obtained from the rendering process of three scenes animation. Descriptive analysis method was used to compare performance using speedup and efficiency of parallel performance metrics. The results show that the distributed rendering method succeeds in increasing the rendering speed with speedup value of 9,43. Moreover, the efficiency of processor use is 94% when it is applied to solve the problem of slow rendering time in the rendering process.

Abstract

This research presented a performance comparison of the two methods in cancer cells image processing. Each method consisted of two stages. The first stage was image enhancement using fuzzy sets. The second stage was optimal fuzzy entropy based image thresholding. In the thresholding stage, the first method used Firefly Algorithm (FA) and the second used Cuckoo Search (CS). In both methods, four performance metrics (Mean Squared Error (MSE), Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structured Similarity Indexing Method (SSIM), and Feature Similarity Indexing Method (FSIM)) and variance and entropy of the images were computed to validate the comparison. The image histograms of both methods show that the distribution of red, green, and blue channel is better than the histograms of original images. In terms of the four metrics, the method that uses FA shows higher performance than CS. In terms of image variance and entropy, the method using CS shows better results than FA. These results suggest that when the performance metrics used are MSE, PSNR, MSSIM, and FSIM, the method using FA is more suitable for cancer cells image enhancement and thresholding. However, when the variance and entropy of the images are used as the performance metrics, the method using CS is more suitable for cancer cells image enhancement and thresholding. Both methods will be useful to assist in the analysis of cancer cell images by the experts in the field.

Abstract

This research has an objective to investigate the capacity of alternative wall panel construction, with EPS (Epoxy Polystyrene) as a based material. EPS with 5 cm of thickness and 1 m of width used as specimens at this research. The specimens reinforced with wire mesh (?4 ? 150 mm) both sides, and finished by mortar cement with 1,5 and 3 cm of thickness. Each specimen was tested in the laboratory to obtain their flexural capacity and bearing capacity. Specimen with 8,5 cm of thickness has 150 kg/m2 of flexural capacity, while specimen with 11 cm of thickness has 450 kg/m2 of flexural capacity. Alternative wall panel with EPS, can be used as a bearing wall, with 2,9 tons/m of bearing capacity.

Abstract

Every business has a vision for its business plan. Sometimes they face a problem on how to deliver a business plan into a detailed project to achieve their vision. Developing an enterprise project management is one of effective business principles and systems for guiding and organizing that functions to deliver a business plan and to align and integrate processes and information systems. Enterprise project management is a systematic approach for program management and is based on the principle that the vision, mission, and objectives of organization are a set of projects. When effectively defined, planned, integrated, and communicated, business is provided with a totally different view of your organization's ability to define and achieve its objectives. Moving an organization from an old fashioned project management view to the Enterprise Project Management is a shift that is both technical and cultural.

Abstract

This research proposed new method to improve performance of WSN. It used network coding on transmission scheme. The researcher had modified the existing network coding multipath routing for a novel node selection to own residual power node in network coding routing mechanism and to improve reliability of a WSN. This routing mechanism was placed in router for routing purpose. Then, Software network simulation method was done by using OMNET++ platform and MiXiM Framework library. The result shows that proposed method to select nodes and execute network coding succeeds on improving performance of WSN like the reliability compared to the previous method.

Abstract

Internet Weblog / Blog is a medium of communication that are simple, affordable and easy to build. This cause numbers of Blogs in Indonesia grew rapidly. Bloggers, readers and third-party (Internet Provider, Advertiser, mediators) get the benefits of blogs according to their capacity such as mind-sharing, media discourse, promotions, sales, and many other benefits. There are many categories of blogs. Some studies classify them into various categories. This study focus on the business and economic blog category. The aim of this study is to create blog benefiting map of Indonesia?s virtual society, find any Indonesian particular form of blog benefiting, and to seek any suggestion of blog benefit enhance for society.

Abstract

PT Prabu Expressindo which has carried on business in freight services since 1999 finds several constraints associated with ease of services access for the service users. Those constraints become the background of the web-based delivery system development with the primary objective to overcome the difficulties of service access and goods delivery and to add some features to facilitate the service users in communicating with the PT Prabu Expressindo. The linear sequential process model is used to develop the overall system and the literary study is used to enrich the insight to develop a better system. The user friendly system obtains a lot of information which in turn facilitates the goods delivery.

Abstract

PT. TIFICO, Tbk., Tangerang is a company engaged in the textile industry that produces fiber and yarn. It has several application systems, infrastructure, services, ongoing management and application projects to be developed to improve its business processes. The company?s management wants to discern the interest and suitability level of each applications upon the company needs and want to know whether the issued investments matches up the impact and benefits to the company. The author proposes to analyze the running application system and IS/IT project plans using only 4 tools of the New Information Economics method: strategic demand/supply planning, innovation, prioritization and alignment. The results obtained is information about investment strategy of the ERP system Oracle E-Business Suite implementation and project plans to discern which IS/IT is more important to be developed and which one should be ignored, so that the company can allocate the investments to the IS/ IT projects that best support the company's operation.

Abstract

Web and mobile technology help a lot of business activities since it can be accessed from the Internet and intranet networks so that flow of the information needed can reach out various locations. Web and mobile technology combined with E-CRM technology like helpdesk can be used to improve services. This study aims to design a web-based claim management system (supported with helpdesk system) and its BlackBerry® application for PT. Hoppecke Indonesia. An analysis through literature study and field survey (interview to the employees of PT. Hoppecke Indonesia) is implemented in this study based on the incremental method. The result achieved is a design web-based claims management system and the BlackBerry® application. The design is expected to maintain the relationship between customers and companies, especially in term of item maintenance and to make easy for customers to obtain information that will lead to loyalty to the company. Plus, the documentation of each interaction between customer and the company can be recorded properly.

Abstract

This paper is objected to proposed a model for delivery service at fast food restaurants to measure consumer?s preferences of callback and marketing activities. The model is developed using 4C concept (customer value, customer cost, customer convenience and customer communication). The concepts that used here are supported by previous researches on restaurant related to consumer behavior, and the theories of marketing activities including marketing and communications impact. For next steps, the measurement model should be implemented to see how far the reliability of the proposed model, and what improvements can be done in order to obtain a better model. The result can be used to develop strategies of callback and telemarketing activities for delivery service at fast food restaurant, which suit as as customer expectation and company?s resources.
