Abstract

This study aims to determine the benefits of a web application in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of services to lecturers. The research method consists of literature study and data collection analysis based on observations. Implementing a web application, an observation is conducted followed by a comparison on data prior to the implementation. The evaluation results show that the implementation of a web application improves efficiency and effectiveness in the use of time and resources in providing services to lecturers in information access.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to produce a learning management system that could provide teaching materials and assessment tools for studentsso that they could improve their abilities and assess themselves. Using the waterfall Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, the researchers divided the development into five phases. Those were analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. Analysis phase was done by conducting interviews and observations. The designing phase used Unified Modelling Language (UML), and implementation phase used PHP language with Model View Controller (MVC) framework CodeIgniter. Then, testing used eight golden rules and questionnaire as user acceptance test. In the end, this research could produce a Learning Management System (LMS) namely Online Learning System. It can deliver materials to students in BinaNusantara University. In addition, it helps students to find additional learning materials for the programming course, monitor, and assess their learning progress through the quiz and member dashboard.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the determinants of IT operational performance related to IT Service Desk. And to determine the consideration of implementing IT Service Desk in the company business processes. The population in this study is 1500 employees or users of the IT Service Desk service. By using the Slovin, 100 users were obtained in the sample. The variables in this study include success factors of IT Service Desk and Problem Management. Methods of data collection include using questionnaire s. Analysis of data is conducted using multivariate analysis of the factor analysis. The conclusions of this research is obtained from, among others, the factors of success of the IT Service Desk and Problem Management. There are 9 to 37 variables and indicators. From the research, it is found that there is a relationship between factors. And after the reduction process of 37 indicators four new factors was formed which consist of a quick solution factor, excellent IT Service Desk factor, focus support factor, and excellent staff factor. From all the new factors, quick solution is the most dominant factor.

Abstract

This research aims to help universities that do not have an academic information system and facilitate EPSBED data report to Directorate of Higher Education (DHE). The method used is the three first stages in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which are systems engineering, requirements analysis, and design system. The result is a design of university business process, design of database, and design of user interface. This research finds that DHE has a specific data structure that can represent the basic activities of a study program. Therefore, this system design can be used for reporting of EPSBED data as well as for data collection of study program activities.

Abstract

The length measurement of the surface crack simulation using surface ultrasonic wave method is performed for surface crack length of 5, 10, 15, 17.5, 20 and 22.5 mm. Each crack has the orientation of 22.50, 450, 67.50, and 900 against the surface of the sample. The method is similar to the transmission technique, where the transmitting and receiving probes are arranged face-to-face against the crack mouth. The surface wave pulse is high enough to be distinguished from the pulse of the coming waves as the result of mode conversion that occurs from the crack tip. The deviation of the measurement of the length was 8% in the average.

Abstract

To meet the needs of information delivery to be rapid, mobile and safe needed a model calculation of the best antenna location and utilization of transmission media. One model that can be used takes advantages of wireless as well as models Flether-Powell algorithm, which combines mathematics with information technology. The algorithm can calculate the best position of a transmitter with reference of maximum received intensity amount in all the Main Point Coverage. To simplify the calculation process a computer program is developed written in Borland C. the program evaluation results show that by utilizing this application a company can place transmitters better and more effectively.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the control systems on the TL shipping information, in order to discern weaknesses or problems in delivery of enterprise information systems control using CobIT approach. The research method used is the data collecting by observation, checklists, interviews, and literature study. The results achieved are findings and issue recommendations that provide an illustration about a control of the running information delivery systems. From the illustration it is known that on the company?s control of information delivery system, there are still many things that have not been up to standard. The conclusion obtained is that the control of information delivery systems that have been implemented meets only partially the standards set small, so it still needs much improvement.

Abstract

Human life is more complex with more and diverse human activities, requires an adjustment function on an area of the city. City areas will be abandoned later died at a city area with many buildings that are not maintained anymore. Therefore it needs adjustment function, a function of the new requirement is necessary to maintain the vitality of an area. This principle applies generally to the entire region, including the old town conservation area. Many examples of successful for the revitalization of old town that is how the old town area can adapt to the needs of the new society. Cisangkuy area is part of the initial planning of Bandung city, which is planned as a residential area for officials Dutch East Indies. Current conditions, the region has experienced a change to suit the needs of society. On the other hand, this region also have the value - historical value can still be inherited by future generations. Therefore, the necessary arrangements for the changes that occur to meet the needs of today's society does not damage the characteristics of the region as a whole.

Abstract

Based on the informal survey, learning algorithm time complexity in a theoretical manner can be rather difficult to understand. Therefore, this research proposed Complexitor, an educational tool for learning algorithm time complexity in a practical manner. Students could learn how to determine algorithm time complexity through the actual execution of algorithm implementation. They were only required to provide algorithm implementation (i.e. source code written on a particularprogramming language) and test cases to learn time complexity. After input was given, Complexitor generated execution sequence based on test cases and determine its time complexity through Pearson correlation. An algorithm time complexity with the highest correlation value toward execution sequence was assigned as its result. Based on the evaluation, it can be concluded this mechanism is quite effective for determining time complexity as long as the distribution of given input set is balanced.

Abstract

This study aims to build traffic monitoring application that can help network administrator to monitor server anytime and anywhere, by using SMS. Things to be monitored are data traffic and server network connection. Literature study, and field study were done before designing the application.The result is application that can send and receive SMS to / from network administrator, check the connection to the server, and respond to network administrator in a relatively fast time when the connection to the server having problem.In addition, the application can monitor the details of data packets at the server and displays the bandwidth based on protocol. The details of data packets can also be sent via SMS. The conclusion is that traffic monitoring application is very useful because it can help network administrator to monitor servers anytime and anywhere. It is suggested to add a remote feature in this application.
