Abstract

On a practical level, market positioning is critical to achieving competitive advantage, and thus the success of new ventures and entrepreneurs needs more relevant insights to help them gain a foothold in new or existing markets. The purpose of this paper is to carefully analyze and assess the current body of written work regarding the strategic act of positioning a product or brand in the market, thereby critically reassessing and re-evaluating the fundamental notion of positioning and ultimately establishing a more all-encompassing and thorough definition from an abstract and theoretical point of view. In this paper, the authors would like to explore past research related to market positioning in the Scopus database using the keywords “positioning marketing", marketing positioning”, "positioning”, and “strategic positioning” from 2000–2023 (23 years) using the criteria of “exclude and include,” and a total of 140 articles were obtained. Once analyzed, the literature review revealed that there is no coherent definition for positioning and that there is no common agreement among marketing experts and practitioners on the precise meaning of the concept. Therefore, a comprehensive definition of positioning covering the five underlying positioning perspectives (competition, gap/empty mind, consumer perception, differentiation, and advantage) is suggested. Keywords: Market Positioning, Positioning Strategy, Bibliometric Analysis.

Abstract

This study focused on the interplay of control levers and organizational learning as well as the impact of Management Control Systems (MCS) on firm performance in Nepalese Commercial Banks. The study aims to examine the relationships between MCS levers (belief, boundary, diagnostic, interactive) and firm performance and assess the mediating role of organizational learning in this relationship. The study was done using descriptive and causal-comparative design, where a survey was carried out by deriving the responses from the employees of various commercial banks in Kathmandu. The findings of the study highlighted the significant correlations between MCS, organizational learning, and performance, highlighting MCS as a key tool for enhancing performance in the Banking sector. This study acknowledges limitations such as focusing only on Kathmandu and suggests future research to expand geographically and explore other sectors for broader applicability. Keywords: Management Control Systems, Levers of Control, Organizational Learning, Banking Sector.e other sectors for broader applicability.

Abstract

The Indonesian economy shows that Kalimantan has an important role in the national economy, contributing 8.45% in 2014, placing it as the third largest after Java and Sumatra. However, there are income disparities between provinces in Kalimantan, resulting in disparities in economic development. Therefore, the government must gradually increase investment and the industrial sector to even out income distribution. This research aims to analyze the Kalimantan provinces' sigma and beta convergence. The results indicate that the provinces' economies in Kalimantan still need to be fixed. The per capita income dispersion level from 2000-2021 has improved, or sigma convergence has occurred. Through dynamic panel data analysis, it was found that absolute and conditional beta convergence occurred at levels throughout the Kalimantan region. The conditional beta convergence rate shows that the variables representing production factors can accelerate the convergence rate. Variables influencing income growth and the convergence process are FDI, DI, Industry, and locally generated revenue.   Keywords: Economic Growth, Convergence, Investment, Industry, Fiscal.
