Abstract

Black power represents the main difficulty faced by the oil flow in pipelines. The negative effect of this powder reaches to stop the oil flow due to clogging the pipelines, in addition to the damaging of the crude oil pumps. Many solutions have been proposed in literature based on chemical or physical processes. On the other side, applying the fixed magnetic field has been presented in separation and extraction process of metal impurities in water pipelines applications. From these facts, this paper proposes an alternative solution (idea, design, and methodology for future implementation) for the black power removing from oil pipelines. The proposed system works on firstly sensing the resistivity parameter in the crude oil as an indication about the oil status with respect to the quantity of the black powder particles, then works on monitoring and controlling the level, location, and polarity of the required magnetic field that to work on cracking particles cracking function that in order to facilitate the crude oil motion in the pipelines. In addition, the proposed solution presents a new design of electrical resistivity sensor as an important indication in terms of evaluating the proposed system performance

Abstract

The success of a company is measured by the ability to provide goods and services at the right time and place. Besides, one of the factors of the company's progress is also supported by inventory management which functions to control the company's inventory by neither hoarding lots of products nor running out of products. The development of technology requires a company's inventory management that is fast, precise and accurate to support its’ performance. In fact, some companies have difficulty in determining the stock of their goods production so that it impedes the fulfillment of consumer needs in the event of high market demand. This study is to determine the reorder point stock of a company that determines the number of purchases and sales of the company's products, therefore the amount of expenses and income can be presented to the board of directors to be followed up quickly and accurately. The method used is a statistical approach to the economic quantity model where safety stock analysis is first performed. This method is used to put the company's products to the inventory so that there are no excess or even shortages of products. System development method used is a user centered design, which is the most suitable to the study. The output of the activity is information in the form of advice to the company leaders in making decisions about production planning, controlling stock inventory, detailing market demand quickly, precisely and accurately and developing a decision support system that is made by taking into account the details of user needs.

Abstract

In this manuscript, we presented a research that enhance the performance of WLED using the multi-phosphor configuration. The phosphor layers in the research are separated from each other to achieved better luminous efficiency, however, it makes controlling color light quality more complex. Another issue is finding out the whether two layers of phosphor or three layers of phosphor is better in improving color quality. The research addressed this issue by analyzing the optical aspects of the respective WLEDs that employ these structure. The studied aspects are quality indicators such as luminous efficacy (LE), and color uniformity, color rendering index (CRI), color quality scale (CQS). The results of the experiments in this research, which come from the employment of WLEDs with 2 color temperatures 5600 K and 8500, suggest that WLED with three phosphor layers is better in CRI, CQS, LE. This type of phosphor structure also limits the color deviation significantly, thus, improves the color uniformity. This results is verifies with Mie theory, therefore, can be applied as reference or guideline for production of better WLEDs

Abstract

Self-Excited induction generators (SEIG) display a low voltage and frequency regulation due to variable applied load and input rotation speed. Current work presents a simulation and performance analysis of a three-phase wind-driven, SEIG connect to a three-phase load. In addition, an investigation of the dynamic operation of the induction generator from starting steady state until no-load operation. It is assumed that the input mechanical power is constant where the rotor of the SEIG rotates at a constant speed. The value of the excitation capacitance which is necessary to the operation of the induction generator also computed to ensure a smooth and self-excitation starting. The output voltage of the generator is adjusted by varying the reactive power injected by STATCOM. A 3-phase IGBT voltage source inverter with a fuel cell input supply is connected as STATCOM which is used to compensate for the reduction in the supply voltage and its frequency due to variation occurred in the applied loads. This work includes introducing a neuro-fuzzyy logic controller to enhance the performance of the SEIG by regulation the generated voltage and frequency The dynamic model of SEIG with STATCOM and loads are implemented using MATLAB/SIMULINK

Abstract

Smart microgrids belong to a set of networks that operate independently. These networks have technologies such as electric vehicle battery swapping stations that aim to economic welfare with own resources of smart microgrids. These resources should support other services, for example, the supply of energy at peak hours. This study addresses the formulation of a decision matrix based on operating conditions of electric vehicles and examines economically viable alternatives for a battery swapping station. The decision matrix is implemented to manage the swapping, charging, and discharging of electric vehicles. Furthermore, this study integrates a smart microgrid model to assess the operational strategies of the aggregator, which can act like a prosumer by managing both electric vehicle battery swapping stations and energy storage systems. The smart microgrid model proposed includes elements used for demand response and generators with renewable energies. This model investigates the effect of the wholesale, local and electric-vehicle markets. Additionally, the model includes uncertainty issues related to the planning for the infrastructure of the electric vehicle battery swapping station, variability of electricity prices, weather conditions, and load forecasting. This article also analyzes how both the user and the providers maximize their economic benefits with the hybrid optimization algorithm called variable neighborhood search - differential evolutionary particle swarm optimization. The strategy to organize the infrastructure of these charging stations reaches a reduction of 72% in the overall cost. This reduction percentage is obtained calculating the random solution with respect to the suboptimal solution.

Abstract

In recent times, the utilization of cloud computing VMs is extremely enhanced in our day-to-day life due to the ample utilization of digital applications, network appliances, portable gadgets, and information devices etc. In this cloud computing VMs numerous different schemes can be implemented like multimedia-signal-processing-methods. Thus, efficient performance of these cloud-computing VMs becomes an obligatory constraint, precisely for these multimedia-signal-processing-methods. However, large amount of energy consumption and reduction in efficiency of these cloud-computing VMs are the key issues faced by different cloud computing organizations. Therefore, here, we have introduced a dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) based adaptive cloud resource re-configurability (ACRR) technique for cloud computing devices, which efficiently reduces energy consumption, as well as perform operations in very less time. We have demonstrated an efficient resource allocation and utilization technique to optimize by reducing different costs of the model. We have also demonstrated efficient energy optimization techniques by reducing task loads. Our experimental outcomes shows the superiority of our proposed model ACRR in terms of average run time, power consumption and average power required than any other state-of-art techniques.
