Abstract

Digital audio signal is one of the most important data type at present, it is used in various vital applications, such as human knowledge, security and banking applications, most applications require signal identification and recognition, and to increase the efficiency of these applications we must seek a method to represent the audio file by a small set of values called a features vector. In this paper research we will introduce an enhanced method of features extraction based on k-mean clustering. The method will be tested and implemented to show how the proposed method can reduce the efforts of voice identification, and can minimize the recognition time a set of voice extracted features must be used instead of using the voice wave file.

Abstract

People with hearing disabilities are those who are unable to hear, resulted in their disability to communicate using spoken language. The solution offered in this research is by creating a one way translation technology to interpret spoken language to Indonesian sign language system (SIBI). The mechanism applied here is by catching the sentences (audio) spoken by common society to be converted to texts, by using speech recognition. The texts are then processed in text processing to select the input texts. The next stage is stemming the texts into prefixes, basic words, and suffixes. Each words are then being indexed and matched to SIBI. Afterwards, the system will arrange the words into SIBI sentences based on the original sentences, so that the people with hearing disabilities can get the information contained within the spoken language. This technology success rate were tested using Confusion Matrix, which resulted in precision value of 76%, accuracy value of 78%, and recall value of 79%. This technology has been tested in SMP-LB Karya Mulya on the 7th grader students with the total of 9 students. From the test, it is obtained that 86% of students stated that this technology runs very well.

Abstract

Load balancing is an efficient mechanism to distribute loads over cloud resources in a way that maximizes resource utilization and minimizes response time. Metaheuristic techniques are powerful techniques for solving the load balancing problems. However, these techniques suffer from efficiency degradation in large scale problems. This paper proposes three main contributions to solve this load balancing problem. First, it proposes a heterogeneous initialized load balancing (HILB) algorithm to perform a good task scheduling process that improves the makespan in the case of homogeneous or heterogeneous resources and provides a direction to reach optimal load deviation. Second, it proposes a hybrid load balance based on genetic algorithm (HLBGA) as a combination of HILB and genetic algorithm (GA). Third, a newly formulated fitness function that minimizes the load deviation is used for GA. The simulation of the proposed algorithm is implemented in the cases of homogeneous and heterogeneous resources in cloud resources. The simulation results show that the proposed hybrid algorithm outperforms other competitor algorithms in terms of makespan, resource utilization, and load deviation.

Abstract

We use electronic nose data of odor measurements to build machine learning classification models. The presented analysis focused on determining the optimal time of measurement, leading to the best model performance. We observe that the most valuable information for classification is available in data collected at the beginning of adsorption and the beginning of the desorption phase of measurement. We demonstrated that the usage of complex features extracted from the sensors’ response gives better classification performance than use as features only raw values of sensors’ response, normalized by baseline. We use a group shuffling cross-validation approach for determining the reported models’ average accuracy and standard deviation.

Abstract

In this paper, the Ba2Si5N8Eu2+ phosphor is proposed as the novel recommendation for enhancing the optical properties in terms of D-CCT, CRI, CQS, and LO of the CP-WLEDs. Firstly, we conducted the physical model of the CP-WLEDs in the Light Tools software with the main parameters like the real LEDs. Furthermore, the scattering process in LEDs compound of the CP-WLEDs is simulated and investigated by the Matlab software. Then the influence of the Ba2Si5N8Eu2+ concentration on the D-CCT, CRI, CQS, and LO of the CP-WLEDs is investigated. Finally, the research results showed that the Ba2Si5N8Eu2+ concentration has a considerable effect on the D-CCT, CRI, CQS, and LO of the CP-WLEDs. From the results, we can state that the Ba2Si5N8Eu2+ phosphor can be considered as the novel recommendation for enhancing the optical properties of the CP-WLEDs.

Abstract

Lebesgue spaces (Lp over Rn) play a significant role in mathematical analysis. They are widely used in machine learning and artificial intelligence to maximize performance or minimize error. The well-known histogram of oriented gradients (HOG) algorithm applies the 2-norm (Euclidean distance) to detect features in images. In this paper, we apply different p-norm values to identify the impact that changing these norms has on the original algorithm. The aim of this modification is to achieve better performance in classifying X-ray medical images related to of COVID-19 patients. The efficiency of the p-HOG algorithm is compared with the original HOG descriptor using a support vector machine implemented in Python. The results of the comparisons are promising, and the p-HOG algorithm shows greater efficiency in most cases.

Abstract

This paper presents the mechanical design of a single axis solar tracking system, as well as the electronic design of a system that to record in real time the electric power delivered by the solar tracker and to evaluate its performance. The interface was developed in Labview and it compares the power supplied by the tracker with the power supplied by static solar panel of the same characteristics. The performance is initially simulated using Pv-Syst software, and later validated with the data obtained by the interface. As a result, the use of the solar tracker increases the power delivered by a minimum of 19%, and it can go as high as 47.84%, with an average in increase in power of 19.5% in the monthly energy production. This experimental result was compared with the simulation by Pv-Syst software and shows a difference of only 2.5%, thus validating the reliability of the simulation. This behavior pattern coincides with previous studies carried out for equatorial latitudes.

Abstract

In recent years, the trend has increased for the use of cloud computing, which provides broad capabilities with the sharing of resources, and thus it is possible to store and process data in the cloud remotely, but this (cloud) is untrusted because some parties can connect to the network such as the internet and read or change data because it is not protected, therefore, protecting data security and privacy is one of the challenges that must be addressed when using cloud computing. Encryption is interested in the field of security, confidentiality and integrity of information that sent by a secure connection between individuals or institutions regardless of the method used to prepare this connection. But using the traditional encryption methods to encrypt the data before sending it will force the data provider to send his private key to the server to decrypt the data to perform computations on it. In this paper we present a proposal to secure banking data transmission through the cloud by using partially homomorphic encryption algorithms such as (paillier, RSA algorithm) that allow performing mathematical operations on encrypted data without needing to decryption. A proxy server will also use for performing re-encryption process to enhance security.
