Abstract

Islamic missionary inclined into another languages when speaking Indonesian. This situation is to cause indifferenced principle of the language and resulting in a interference. Lexical interference greatly affect to Islamic missionary utterance in Pekalongan. The purpose of this research was to describe lexical interference Islamic missionary utterance in Pekalongan.  The data were collected by observation method and continued by using the technique of uninvolved conversation observation, recording, and noting. Furthermore,  the  data  were  analyzed  using  comparative  method  and  determinant-sorting  technique. Interference is a deviation from one language rule into another language rule. Interference in the utterance of Islamic missionary occurs because speakers use Javanese, Arabic, and English in the structure and rules of the Indonesian. Lexical interference inclined by Islamic missionary in Pekalongan, Central Java, Indonesia. The use of lexicons is prone to interference, including nouns, pronouns, verbs, and adjectives.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the textual level of discourse on reporting corruption in Trans TV and Global TV media. The research employed a theoretical and methodological approach. Theoretically, this research used a model of critical discourse analysis by Norman Fairclough. The methodological approach used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The results of the study were concerned with two things. Firstly, the vocabulary used in the E-KTP corruption news texts broadcasted on Trans TV tend to be in the form of a formal vocabulary, while those on Global TV tend to use informal vocabulary. The expressions used in Trans TV tend to be the expression of euphemism, while those on Global TV tend to use metaphors. Secondly, regarding grammatical analysis, Trans TV and Global TV utilize active and passive sentences, positive-negative sentences, modalities, and personal pronouns. Thirdly, regarding text structure analysis, the corruption news texts on Trans TV and Global TV tend to show a pattern or structure consisting of five elements, namely the news headline, news date, news lead, news body, and the end of the news.

Abstract

Batak Society as newcomers or minority in Semarang accommodates its language. One of the domains requiring accommodation is trading. The purpose of this research is to analyze Batak society language accommodation in trading domain to Javanese in Semarang. The research uses sociolinguistics approach as its methodology. The data is collected by using observation and record as the basic techniques. Then it is continued by participant observation, free involved observation, recording, and noting. The data analysis is done using coding method and interactive model. Based on the findings, they show the accommodation pattern are (1) pattern of Javanese  accommodation convergent, (2) pattern of Javanese accommodation most convergent, (3)  pattern of Batak Toba language accommodation  divergent, (4) pattern of Batak Karo language accommodation  divergent, and (5) pattern of Batak Simalungun language accommodation divergent.

Abstract

Ca Leleng Do, Do Leleng Ca (One is equal to many, many is equal to one) poetry set is a traditional poetry originating from Manggarai, by Inosensius Sutam. This study has purpose to describe and explain the meanings of the poetry set. The approach uses in this study is theoretical and methodological approach. The theoretical approach used is semiotic. Meanwhile the methodological approach is qualitative descriptive. The technique of collecting the data is done by literature reviews and heuristic reading. Then, the validity of the data is gained through deeper observation and data triangulation. The technique of analyzing data is done by semiotic model. Based on the research, the poetry set contains meaning related to Manggarai’s people lifes, such as (1) unity and union meaning created in inter-relationship and social environment, (2) empirical meaning bind from ancestors’ relationship, (3) patriotism.

Abstract

Raudal Tanjung Banua’poems is containing many problems of the nature environment. This study aims to analyze the representation of the nature environment in Banua’s poems and the reasons for the emergence of environmental problems in the poem. The approach of this research is ecocriticism and semiotic approach.  Heuristic method is used to collecting data and hermeneutic method is used analysis the data.  The results of the analysis show that environmental representations in Banua poetry can be grouped into four categories, namely the occurrence of exploitation of nature, the occurrence of nature environment damage, the causes of damage to the nature environment, and the benefits of the nature environment for humans. The appearance of nature environment problems in Banua’s poem is motivated by several reasons, among others, because Banua can not directly protest, because of his love for the nature environment, as his prayer that the nature environment can be in good condition, hope for a better life for fishermen and farmers, and the form of a devotee to God. The results of this study are expected to provide benefits for solving environmental problems and the development of environmentally sound literature.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the educational values contained in the novel “Sepatu Dahlan, Surat Dahlan, dan Senyum Dahlan” by Khrisna Pabichara. This research uses structuralism approach. This research data is fragments of text, sentences, and dialogue contained in the novel trilogy works of Khrisna Pabichara allegedly the element of the builder of literary works and educational values. Data collection is done by a non-interactive method, which is to study documents and archives. The technique of collecting data from this research is a technique of referring, record, and literature study. The results of this research data analysis are presented using content analysis data or content analysis in the form of structure and educational values in the novel trilogy by Khrisna Pabichara. The findings of this study on the educational values contained in the novel “Sepatu Dahlan, Surat Dahlan, dan Senyum Dahlan” by Khrisna Pabichara's are exemplary.

Abstract

Politeness is a social phenomenon and a way to create good relationships between people. Teacher speech has an important role in the character building of learners so that teachers should use polite language. Through the politeness of speech teachers can form a positive character of learners. This study aims to analyze the realization of compliance and violation of the principle of politeness and language politeness strategies in the speech of elementary school teachers in the formation of learner characters in the classroom. The research approach used is theoretical approach and methodological approach. The theoretical approach used is the pragmatic approach, while the methodological approach used is descriptive qualitative. The data of this research were collected through the simak method consisting of the technique of independent libat cognate (SBLC), recording technique and recording technique. Data analysis method used is method of normative method and heuristic technique. The results of the analysis found the realization of compliance, used by elementary school teachers in shaping the character of learners in the classroom.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to analyze the construction of literacy competence of junior high school students based on PISA standards. The construction of literacy competence in junior high school students could be viewed from reading competence and writing competence. This study used quantitative descriptive method with quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that 96% students were able to find and get information in the text, 88.3% were able to understand and interpret the text, 66.7% students were able to identify the text, 35% were able to reflect the contents of the text, and 37.5% were able to evaluate the text, while for writing competence 78% students were able to write well according to the organization, language use, and function of the text. The analysis results of the construction of literacy competence could be used as references to improve the literacy competence of junior high school students.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are: (1) to describe the need of developing learning materials to read the text of complex procedures with CLIL approach for students of SMK based on students 'and teachers' perceptions; (2) Formulate principles of development of learning materials read text of complex procedures with CLIL approach for vocational students, (3) Develop prototypes of instructional materials read text of complex procedures with CLIL approach for vocational students, (4) descriptive test results of prototypes of learning materials reading text of complex procedures with CLIL approach for vocational students, (5) Measuring the effectiveness of learning materials reading complex text procedures CLIL approach for vocational students. The design of this research is the R & D approach (Reseach and Development) with the research step that is (1) preliminary survey, (2) planning, (3) product design, (4) product validation, (5) revision and improvement, (6) limited trial, (7) research.

Abstract

This research examines the religious and social conflicts in the short story’s collection “Mata yang Enak Dipandang” by Ahmad Tohari. The religious theme does not only focus on religious ritual practices but penetrates universal religious elements. In addition to religious themes, social conflict is used as a theme in this collection of short stories. The problems studied are forms of religious elements, depictions of social conflict, the relationship between religious elements and social conflicts in short stories’ collection “Mata yang Enak Dipandang”. The purpose of the research is to describe the elements of religion, social conflict, and the relationship between religious elements and social conflict. This research is carried out with the sociology of literature using the study of hermeneutics. Data research is in the form of words, phrases, and sentences contained in fragments of short stories containing religious elements and social conflicts contained in short stories“Mata Yang Enak Dipandang”.Religious elements in this short stories’ collection include religious emotions, belief systems, and ritual systems and ceremonies. Existing social conflicts are individual conflicts with individuals, inner conflicts, and individual conflicts within groups. The relationship between religious elements and social conflicts, namely the religious element is used as a view of life and reference in resolving social conflicts. We recommend that actions taken must be sourced from religious values in order to minimize the occurrence of social conflicts, so as to create a life of peace and harmony in the community.
